In our slatted tanks which were put up about 30 years ago, there is a 40 gallon plastic drum sunk into the corner with a slight slope to it. Big enough to drop the pipe in and can get tank sucked out down to the last few inches. Have wondered for next shed about sinking something bigger like an IBC cube to make it more effective.
Feeder wagon only way to buffer feed and keep silage use down. Can also help with intake as u can measure wat ur feeding per cow. Tom pemberton quoted😂
Working on orchard autonomous apple train, so u-blox rtk kit with some ep32s and brushless hub motors (from china... don't hate if you can't compete) , low level and slow so maybe I should go up a level to pi5? Spent years on c++ firmware so hard to get this old dog to learn new tricks!
I have one of the cheapest gps on the market and it’s run of a tablet or phone in the cab from an app, it’s only guidance and not great but better than nothing. I will be very interested in your system keep us informed. I have never seen anyone entering a A-B line on the screen before entering the field that would be brilliant for working out the least short work or cultivating at different angles.
Yes I would also like to see what the finished product is like because I would also be interested in buying it, as for the video it was as usual both entertaining and informative and in my experience that makes it twice as good as most because most are either one or the other. Regards from Wicklow.
It will be priced extremely competitively. I plan to try and sell a lot of them next year. The highlight of the system is the code, more details to follow. 😅👍
with the amount of silage you make and that you feed silage most of the year i'm surprised that you didn't already have a feeder wagon. would it not be better on the older Massey rather than the puma? another query as you feed silage during the year (im assuming as a night feed) would a zero grazer not make more sense? less silage to make and better feed quality with fresh grass, especially in spring and autumn (and summer too) when the fields are wetter
Love the videos as usual!🤙 How did you manage to design and build the gps? I understand that you know how to code using python, but how did you figure out the hardware configuration? Etc.
How much is your GPS & Steering motor costing to the end user? I’d be interested. I’ve sort of half done AgOpenGps, using it as just a guidance system but wanting to make it full auto but hi knits beyond my capabilities!!
Less than every other system on the market and it will also be a better spec with better software. That's the goal and I won't sell it if that's not what I achieve
I know nothing about building hardware systems, or developing GPS software, but... did you consider just writing an app for a Android tablet? Surely it would have all the hardware and a good screen for a small price, ready to go? I guess you enjoy building the hardware and perhaps it's more flexible and able to control external electronics which an off the shelf tablet could not?
That code would run on a tablet, the issue is you lose control of the operating system and also can't integrate the hardware properly. A tablet is much easier and cheaper but makes for a worse product and user experience.
Get rid of the fo jf and by a self propelled harvester a wonderful machine not expensive to run and lovely to drive I ran trailed for 40 years would not have one again ever very expensive.to run and very soft stuff in them always repairing
i'm surprised you've got any time for all that tech stuff........with a sizeable dairy herd to care for , milking twice a day , young stock to look after and a young family.......not many farmers would be bothering for one second with designing the next in cab gadget

Digest it slurry additive works brilliant devenish nutrition. Saves diesel and time mixing
Great video
Great Video, Getting the JF ready for it's service was a bit of a misson, thanks for sharing

The pi systems have been soooo reliable for me and the remote login ability is brilliant. Highly recommend
Good video
My retraining after a big wreck, was in programming. I never wound up using it, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a bit more on that side of things.
Sure. 👌
Cracking vid.
I be interested in ur gps setup when you get it all finished
🤙🤙👍👍
You will definitely be seeing more of it. 😅
Brilliant video was wondering if u could share a link to the new screen you r going to yous for your gps or even just a name for
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed
Now i am thinking u should make a roof height sensor? So tractors cabs will be safe
Mmm pie 5…sounds delicious
If ur getting a feed wagon feed ration as well and malases if can be got
Why isn’t the 6465 going on the mixer be a bit smaller tractor would fit in the cow house better?
I think I will do that now, i was worried it might not have the power but apparently it does

@@FarmTheoryNIwhen will you have a price on them is there auto steer with them
Love these videos , you’re a cluey bugger , but please , buy some looser fitting shorts bud 😂
It's soon winter, don't worry. 🤣
👍👍40cm in the tanks yea mean 3 foot Andrew 👍
1.4ft*
Disced and reseeded an acre field on 2nd Oct , not even a hint of green , did I leave it too late , or could it still come through 🤞
Did you roll it well? It will probably be okay!
Yeah pretty well rolled , so here’s hoping Thanks for the reply Andrew, great channel

is that GPS your side line to bring in extra income for the farm .hats of to ya bud .great video.
It's been on the back burner for 2 years, other tech projects took my time. Going hard on the GPS now
@FarmTheoryNI keep it the hard work up .your doing a great job .
why dont put a fall at one end of slurry tanks. to add emptying
That would have been a very good idea
Is there no more Farm Theory News ? It was great
I live in Beragh
I think i need a tractor with a Cab before i get a GPS system. 😊
I can make it waterproof. 😂
U should feed a ration of maize barley hults and soya
Do you think you could build your gps systems to talk to implements for use with section control speed etc?
I could but a key lesson from the first version was doing add features that few people will use. Do a few things really well
Do you use any bacteria in your tanks? If so do they work as regards hour's saved mixing etc?
They cost to much to save a bit of mixing imo. They do work, just not worth the money imo.
I think they do pay for themselves
Why not get a self propelled chopper ?
👍
Could you explain the code/debugging - why did you pick raspberry pi over others
Performance to price is fantastic and the community is huge so is really well supported
Those JF repairs sound chunky, are you not getting very close to a new machine vs that level of repair?
They’re like £80k new…
slurry in shorts is a bad look!
And a mess. 😂
Ahem!!!!im still waiting

HOW MUCH IS YOUR BASIC GPS SYSTEM
Around £1500 is the plan
Im thinking he will be getting a Keenan diet feeder. Any other guesses?

You do know about AGopenGPS do you ? 🤓
It's not the same. 😂
It's very customizable, open source.
I have it on two case pumas here, just plugs into the factory auto steer,it’s absolutely fantastic.
You need clean out the gutters on ur sheds Jesus's man the stuff is growing in them 😅😅😂

Never heard anything good, said about the JF center in tullamore, , only poor reports,
