Probably the best, straightest--up farming channel on TH-cam. Edgy, unusual, original. 2025? Change the jingle for Farm Theory News. Shorter and more 'novel'. Thanks for a great year of entertaining videos, and honest commentary. I wouldn't agree with everything, but at least you present an argued viewpoint. Looking forward to 2025💪
Thank you! I will take your advice on the jingle, you can know you where responsible! I also am really looking forward to 2025, going to keep tryin weird stuff. 😅
Thanks for the tour, Andrew. You know in your heart the expensive option is the right one, you just need to convince yourself it’s better to get it done correct, right now, rather than regret it later. Happy New Year
A screenshot of the yard from Google earth imagery along with a big rectangle of where the new shed should go could have helped with explaining! Loving the one take style on this video it's a hard thing to master aha. Merry Christmas and happy new year Andrew! P.s I've definitely seen bits of the out farm in your videos before but never a tour!
Thanks for your videos this year. Always an enjoyable watch. I like your thoughts about building. More important is maybe a video of how your going to get more fodder to feed all these cows. No point expanding if you haven’t got the land to feed them. Just think of the money you could of made if you was feeding silage not extra meal. Also why don’t you put an older Mf on the feeder wagon rather than the high front line machines? Hope your have a prosperous new year! Cheers
Great mid Christmas update Nice to see the farm buildings and to hear your thoughts on future expansion and improvements Fail to prepare, prepare to fail, totally understand the necessity for indepth planning, do it once, do it right, as you implied, cheaper in the long run. Very much enjoyed your videos, so pleased Tom Pemberton mentioned your channel Looking forward to next year's videos A Very Happy New Year to you, the team and all the families See you in 2025 Geoff
The problem with building sheds in farmyards is that no one wants to just knock down an old building and get on with the job we all try to work around what we have, which is understandable because it cost a lot of money to build it at the time and most of us struggled to pay for it over the years however there is a lot to be said for clearing the site and starting from scratch which is what we are half thinking of doing the only fly in the ointment is planning permission if we are rejected which is a strong possibility what do we do then? Mulloch on and maybe fill in a few gaps between sheds and cover a few yards ? There is the problem that if you work with the same foot print do you actually need permission to replace the roof? Some say yes some no , I don’t know. Either way we have to actually stop procrastinating and make a decision and get on with it sooner rather than later. Regards from Wicklow
Onwards and upwards with your TH-cam ,great content 👍. Like you said cow flow in sheds very important, also as you find with the out farm ventilation is in my opinion is number one . Maybe think of steeper pitch on roof/slotted sheets 🤷♂️especially as you have slatted floors with cellar . Not good losing 50 acres hope you have a plan B 😢
Looking forward to following you in 25 . A super learning curve for young farmers going forward . Happy healthy new year to you and yours from county cavan .😊
there seems to be a bit of a obsession with putting a roof over everything these days ........interesting to hear you talk about your out farm and the fact your cattle can stand outside in the FRESH AIR ........all important for healthy cattle. we use to out winter some cattle and you would never get any respiratory problems with them. we went out of dairy in 2017 and now have sucklers and for a few years i kept the cows and calves shut in sheds but then started getting a bit of pneumonia in the calves so the last two years i've changed the system a bit so the cows and calves have access to a open yard area .........(fresh air).....touch wood no cases of pneumonia since. but the thing is a bit in the UK is the environment agency don't like open yard areas cos of the rain water mixing with the slurry..........can never please everyone so it seems😒
Looking around ur fame yard some maintance in the current sheds would prolong there lives. Rain water gutters need fix and clean. Replace bend or missing tin sheets and to prolong the sheds paint some of the steel up rights and paint the tin. When ur talking about updating the farm to do another 50 years the one thing in the video u miss is accommodating the changes with robotics etc that we are just seeing now. And maybe this automation going forward can justify massive rework to the farm structure. Maybe a follow on to this video would be a video of a visit to a farm with robotics to see how u could integrate to yours. As always a great video
Good morning So on my farm we were in a similar situation to yourself and trying to figure out what was the best thing to do regarding housing the animals. After a lot of thinking we decided to start again completely. A green field site was the option we went with. Best decision we ever made, purpose built buildings with great cow and air flow. It made such a difference. Is there any way I could send you photos etc, it might give you some ideas on what sort of future development you want to do at your place. Thanks for all the great content 🚜😊
I am a single girl I want to have a family in Australia, and I hope my husband comes from a farm, because I personally prefer the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the farm. I can prepare a delicious meal for him after he finishes work for the day. Keep our house clean and I hope to have a long trip with him once a year.
I've been watching him for over a year to maybe 18 months and never seen him in bad form. Everything's always done and said with a smile, even in the worst of issues
So I’m guessing that your future silage pit is to replace the one on your out farm? Personally I would put up a new pit at home and make the old pit into a storage shed or a feed passage.
Good video enjoy seeing people’s set up, I think some of the buildings could be converted or modified to suit your new ideas , but at same time all takes money! Do more with less is my motto , keep it up 👍🏻
If you get round to putting up new stock sheds, close them up tight, forget natural ventilation and put in fans so you are in control of the ventilation every day of the year. Don't forget you will eventually be a fully housed system!!!
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

I say plough on and go for the one big shed, but that’s easy for me to say when it’s not my money😂

Its crazy the amount labour unit per livestock unit out farms take up

Good videoes, get a demo plough of bells for the 8s to plough your 30 acres 😜
I will ask kv. 😅
Always in good form

Machinery shed great have put all in winter with price it need in shed for winter less brake downs
Great video Andrew. One question…..u said building / replacing sheds in NI isn’t possible so how are you going to get round that issue?
If you get round to putting up new stock sheds, close them up tight, forget natural ventilation and put in fans so you are in control of the ventilation every day of the year. Don't forget you will eventually be a fully housed system!!!
Why do you think he will eventually be a fully house system?
It's already a fully housed system & big fans are not used in the UK stock sheds, normally; Electricity expensive. Best natural Ventilation.
When you take down the beef house are you going out of the beef cattle
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
I think you need a grass seeder demo for next year😅
Like ur vidos
I thought you said you couldn't get planning permission for new sheds?
We can, but that obviously has to change at some point or farming is over
🙏🙏👌👌👏👏🇮🇪🇮🇪👍👍💪💪
You will regret not doing it properly do it once do it right. Should safe you time on your daily routine to.
Great video
