Porsche Collector I just can't bear this comment anymore
I love that he understands that they’ve bonded to him and they need him for their mental, emotional, and social health. He respects the complexity of their “personhood”, including respecting that they’re not human.
The last thing you said is correct, the rest sounds like you’re still missing the point.
@@HkFinn83 nope it's all correct. Animals grieve too and when you break a bond expect the worst.
@@hao9508 no it isn’t. Social animals can show distress when deprived of social interaction but it is is no way akin to human emotions like ‘grief’. This is actually studied scientifically. If a social animal in a zoo loses its kin they show outward signs of distress, but when a stuffed animal is placed in their enclosure the symptoms vanish. So yes they can experience negative emotions but it’s humanising to use words like grief.
@@HkFinn83 "It's actually studied scientifically" -> proceeds to not provide a single citation. If you don't cite it's just a classic "source: I made it up" situation.
I do prefer real science to feelings or opinions. My gut says they can grieve!
Very wise man. Animals lose their temper just like people. With a grizzly that can mean off with your head, whether intentionally or not.
Yyyy
Facts.
It doesn’t even need to get mad. It could just roll over and crush you
They also are not people, their nature and instincts are very different to a Humans.
Queen of spades- off with his head!!
I like that he’s made arrangements for them, in the event of his death or his becoming disabled in some way! He’s so responsible and I wish more domestic pet owners would think like he does!😽
I respect how he protects the bears & people from each other. Those bears feel at home with his grizzly beard.
Man's just trying to save lives, educate people on how to protect themselves and the wild, so he can make enough money to properly show love to his bears, I don't think I've ever respected an animal keeper this much. The fact he just looks like somebody who would like bears is just the icing on the cake, this is beautiful
Bears are chubby dogs, why won’t people admit it??
I have only seen a few minutes of footage of this man and I already love him. My boy just vibin with bears.

@@drjay927 It’s just a joke. Chill.

Get a bear wife. Problem solved. The father of the mythical founder of the first kingdom of Korea had turned a bear into a woman, and then married her. True story.
"if i go in there with a hamburger, i better bring enough for the whole class or im going to get hurt"... finally someone who present bears as they are.
sounds to me like he gets a little separation anxiety from them too
i agree to.
Because bears are one of the adorable beings in this world. Like, honestly, if I do get the chance to take care of a bear, I'd jump on tha opportunity.
Who wouldn't...!!

He lives with 2 North American bears, the big ones, not the dog sized European ones
@@happydisaster6703 you joking right? russia literally has polar bears, which are biggest bears in the world. And if we talk about brown bears ( grizzlies) they also present in russia, so it's pointless.
Sapfearon you are kidding to think russia has the biggest brown bear. ever heard of Kodiak bears?
Semih Sahin well dude America also has polar bears, also grizzlies don’t live in russia that’s an American thing. And I know grizzlies and brown bears are the same thing
Semih Sahin I was just saying how terrifying it is because he is living with specifically the bigger subspecies of brown bears and russians don’t
You are a credit to the human race, sir. You overcame health adversities and then lovingly cared for two cubs. Cheers! Bob

When he said he didn't rescue the Bears, he took the bears... and took very good care of them and tried to give them the best life possible....I knew everything I needed to know about this guy, he's very intelligent and a really good guy
I think Jeff is giving them the best captive life he can. I salute his efforts and he literally has to tend and focus on them 24/7
He's one knowledgeable individual, appears to me like he has it all figured out. Happy for him and his bears.

So we just gonna brush over his amazing comeback story? The man was paralyzed and walks again 👏
Who said we ever did?
this made my morning. why aren't there more caring humans like this in the world?
They are... they get used and abused by other humans. So the caring humans need to protect their hearts and a lot are turning to less mental abusing animals like dogs, cat or... bears.
My God they look so fluffy and cuddly. Why must you be so deceptive nature?!
That's why teddy bears were invented. I envy the people who actually get to have real bears as pets and don't get attacked.
I’m sure when a grizzly stands on its back legs and towers over you at 10ft tall and near on 2 tonne, opens it’s massive mouth filled with blades, spreads it’s blade covered paws the size of your torso, and roars at you... it will not be cute in any way, shape or form.
@@samblack5313 2 tonnes is a big exaggeration. Yes, they can be 3 m tall on two legs, but the largest wild kodiak bear was 751 kg.
Supiragon 1998
I’m sure I’ve read much larger than that (1.4-1.6t), and yes, clearly I was making the story sound scary, but 400 ain’t much of an exaggeration.
I was hugely intrigued by bears for a while and watched every documentary I could find. Hard to believe my memory is so far off.

This guy sounds knowledgeable and responsible. He seems to know what he is doing and what keeping two large bears entails. Wish I could say the same for other exotic animal owners. Too many of them are in over their heads, sad to say.
Too many already in over their heads, bullies who keep huge nasty dogs, can't even handle them, let alone a bear.
These bears are so beautiful. You can tell how well taken care of they are. They're lucky to have you
"You can train one but you can never tame one." Well said.

Very intriguing observation. Food conditioned and afraid of people? Definitely a loss of habitat. Poor mama. Least she’s eating well.
Dumpster diving can be humiliating.
Most bears would normally try to avoid humans
I love these beastly tails.Loved the script as much as everything else.Fancy having bears as pets or as members of the family. A bit bizarre but it's happening. May they all remain safe and sound.
I have found it to be repeatedly proven true that before you can love something, you must first respect it. And the way this gentleman respects the full physical and mental capabilities of the bears he cares for, I can safely say he appropriately loves them.
