    My wife Deepti loves Naga food, so when her friend sent her the news about Naga Belly she was bouncing off the walls. Immediately food was ordered and I figured it would be a great idea to do a review of the dishes. We ordered 3 dishes, smoked pork with axone (which is fermented soyabean), Galho with pork (which is a rice porridge dish) and some fiery chicken drumsticks.

    Axone does have a strange smell... once you overcome and begin to enjoy it, you're hooked. 😋😋😋🥰
    Axone enthusiast even mold the paste into biscuit 🍪 shape and burn it brown (on charcoal or stove flame), and go with the meal.😅😅😅
    Axone is super digestive aid, you will never ever get bloated tummy even on a heavy meal.
    Meal with axone: no bloat, no gas, no indigestion. Rather, you will get hungry sooner than usual. That's axone power😅😅😅.

    That Axone pork looks wild man. It's yummy and definitely an acquired taste. Have to order from them soon with the normal Naga mircha level. Pork with bambooshoot and raja mircha is my favourite though. Love Naga food and Nagaland \m/ Hello to Deepti. Also the same Naga dishes can be a bit different from different tribes.

    I love your guys accents. I'm from Ireland and I'm always kind of confused how you guys speak English so well. Like even better than than brits and Irish sometimes haha

    • @HeadbangersKitchen
      @HeadbangersKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha well the British did colonize us for a long time so English got spoken quite a bit here and then many of the schools and the education was done in English. So all the private schools teach largely in English, public school is in the language of the state. Also complex economic divisions and disparities have led to most of the middle class and richer people speaking English fairly well since their education is via private schools and many folks send their kids abroad for college and masters and things like that.

    • @conor7187
      @conor7187 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HeadbangersKitchen ahhh that explains it, although Ireland was colonized too and we can't speak our language (Irish) fluently anymore really. It's taught in schools but for whatever reason 90percent of us can't learn it well enough to speak fluently.
      We're hearing on our news stations that India's having a hard time recently with covid, hope you and your family are all okay. Stay safe!

    • @HeadbangersKitchen
      @HeadbangersKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah the situation is quite bad here but we are all ok and staying safe. Situation is improving in my city/state but can't say the same for the rest of the country. Politicians are still busy playing politics instead of getting shit done to save lives. Worst part it's not the virus that's killing people it's the lack of oxygen, hospitals packed to the brim and general callous attitude of the central government.

  • @i2cjam833
    @i2cjam833 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    using oil in naga food is not a traditional naga food in fact not a naga food at all but as time goes and are introduced to different cuisine from the country and across the world, there is an influence in making of naga food using alien spices and ingredients specially in restaurant... naga used animals lard melted and solidify or fermented to make our food more flavourful and umami ( yes we naga also fermented pigs lard)we ferment river crab with perilla and mustrad seeds, bamboo shoots , lard, soybean etc everything fermented is like a natural Monosodium glutamate with an extra pungent kick. and galho is like a khichdi on crack where one pretend to be sick just so concern family members can cook for him or her.

    • @HeadbangersKitchen
      @HeadbangersKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean I can't just walk into someone's house and also I don't know anyone from Nagaland living in Mumbai. However the girl who started this home kitchen is from Nagaland. Anyway someday I will actually visit and eat there, my wife has been and maybe I will soon. 🙂 and while restaurants have to make a profit to stay open I mean this holds true for any cuisine right? Even Italian food or Chinese food, what you eat in a restaurant is never like what people eat in their house. So that's a given.
