- Serika Sterling is best known for all the work she does with The Preemie Foundation, however, now we meet the power house behind the foundation. Serika chronicles her extremely rough childhood having been abandoned by her mother and bouncing from family member to family member. In the process, she is sexually violated but a trusted family associate. Her extremely unfair childhood, could see Serika being a victim, but she has healed and works on continued healing to overcome the many obstacles she faced at such a young age. She has gone on to become a successful Accountant operating her own accounting firm, and is currently pursuing her law degree, all while running her foundation.
Not all superheroes wear capes....and Serika Sterling is a living breathing superhero of her own journey.

I swear to you I am here watching this week's episode and I am completely crying because I can identify with this story. This story touch me differently
Her story reflects my entire life, being molested the majority of my life from grade 3 to high school, after high school, rape, abandonment. I still try to deal with this, but I know I won't be able to help myself. So every day I get closer to the I be able to afford therapy.
This situation affects your entire life, future relationship, you fight to come to self-actualization. One day I hope to be like this powerful young lady.

Thank you for this talk. I appreciate you sharing. I never grew with a mother. I never knew a mothers love. My father was my father and mother. My father married and my step mother was a beast, her daughter was a beast as well. My past did not define me but with therapy and sharing my story. Life has transition to blessings inwards and outwards.
Best interview ever since this show started. I’ve crossed paths with Serika multiple times both on campus and during her years at KPMG and she was always so pleasant and never forgot a face. Always engaging and attentive. Had no clue she had been through this. I was secretly proud of her while at UWI because a mutual friend of ours who shared the same classes with her always bragged about how smart she was. No one knew where she was coming from but one thing for sure we could all see she was going great places! Thanks for sharing

This hits home...I still can’t understand how an adult could question a child who is very explicit in detail about these experiences. The trauma that starts in a child during and after this experience takes soooo much life away from said child that it becomes a win/lose situation whether that child stays alive or takes his/her life.

This has been such an impactful interview, thanks for sharing your story Ms Sterling. I’m sure it resonated with a lot of us women. My mother was abandoned by both her parents as a child. My siblings and I grew up in a tumultuous home with both parents, we survived it, but they didn’t abandon us. Today, Ms Sterling I am a chartered accountant, God has blessed my with two amazing sons. I tell God every day, that what ever happen under the sun I will never abandon my sons. If life takes us under a tree, I’m going to live under it happily ever after with them.My first born is in his final year at university where he’s studying Philosophy Politics and Economics. Country girls no normal, “we born inna storm, and grew up in hurricane” but trust me, with God in the vessel we smile at the storm.

Sericka, you are the girl. Fly girl! Continue to soar, see the light and be bold enough to be it. You fought back. I had a "seeing" experience with a boy I taught. It's funny at the time I told the students I would "see" them so there was no need to push and fight. I thought it simple and just what should be done but for him it opened up a whole new world for him, just to know he was seen. Simple things we can do for a child we must do and that is always, every time.
God sent that wonderful man in your life for a reason girl. Big up yuself
POWERFUL. I think anyone who is even thinking about having a child should watch this interview. Sadly some people feel that as soon as they breed they are ready to be parents. They don’t truly understand what a detrimental role they play in their child’s formative years. Parenting is not a job you can afford to mess up because your failures and shortcomings will follow your children for the rest of their lives and shape the adults they turn out to be.

Another courageous and inspiring SHARE. A lot of little girls (grown and young need to hear this) The comments section is lit with all the obvious accolades which I second. But what hit me was the tiny 'mustard seeds'. Serika spoke of the simple hope of tomorrow being enough to live for and that we don't need to be so blessed with finding, knowing and fulfilling our 'passion', but to give 💯 of ourselves in whatever we do. Seems the fashion nowadays is to talk about living out one's passion, which can make some people who feel just ordinary about their talents or interest feel so inadequate and lost all over again.
We simply need to blossom where we are planted at the moment. Do it as if you are doing it for the Lord. Because we are!

Your show shows me that ppl have and are going through their personal crap...having lost my daughter and mom in less than a year and the pain of living with the trauma is sometimes unspeakable...ppl have and are going through crap ...I am yet able to talk openly on my channel about how my daughter died...but seeing these stories weekly is giving strength.

Again, I can soooooo relate. My father left when I was 7 and reappeared when I was 19. By the age of 13, I was shipped off to live with a stranger. These are the story of many others . Bless your heart my dear.But I did come back. My heart goes out to those who didn't.

She was on MTM not too long ago, highlighting her charity Premi Foundation, i waa so impressed of how well spoken and articulate she was, she told her story about losing 2/3 of her triplets it was heart wrenching, but i had no idea she had such a rough childhood!
