Please keep nature and the temple project alive . The windmills can be located elsewhere to find the wind .temples in rural country areas is a great pilgrimage and a reset back to nature , that is what all people need ‘. Wisdom from Buddhas teaching.
I think the windmills are a beautiful sight to behold. I live among them and the sound is not noticeable.
Namo Budhaya 🙏
I am surprised why Buddhism would allow the purchase of such a vast amount of land instead of helping the poor in china or in canada,

IMO this issue is a win win for the general area either way, either you get a Buddhist temple, and the tourism with that, or you get clean energy from the wind turbines. Or heck maybe even both!
Lots of unfounded claims, on both sides.
"private donations have dried up since the turbines" implying the turbines caused a lack of funds. Uh huh.
"turbine sounds that you can't hear impact your health". Uh huh.
"you basically won't see or hear them because of trees and mountains". What trees, what mountains, where specifically? What viewing angles are we talking about?
"planes, highways, jets" how often, how big, how noisy?
Nice story but I think the journalists could have done a bit more work here.
I agree with the mayor, the town's economy will definitly increase. This is like building a noisy outdore night club beside a church.
Your analogy is rather flawed, the church would be the economic drain and the noisy (busy) nightclub would be the one actually making lots of tax revenue for the town. The turbines are sustainable and save money in the long run (and are quieter than average vehicle traffic anyway)
How can you compare wind turbines to a noisy nightclub??? Have you ever been close to a wind turbine? It makes absolutely zero noise.
Sadhu sadhu sadhu. Thank
😍😍.😍😍.😍😍.
nice temple
Better wind than nuclear.
Based on what? With wind you must have a coal plant as backup. They throw blades, catch on fire, and require maintanance which is very dangerous. The number of people killed in the operation of nuclear power 0, nada, zip, zero, the number of deaths building, operating and maintaining wind turbines- Over 100 and climbing

So sad to see such negative comments.Several thousand people attended the open house on June 25.Everybody there was amazed and there were so many smiling happy faces. This temple is a good thing and I believe wind turbines are also good.I hope the two sides can learn to bend a little. Will 15 wind turbines really create so much energy that we can't afford to not put them up ?Will 15 wind turbines really put a lot of cash in the farmers bank account, no not much at all. On the other hand, will 15 wind turbines really bother people meditating while their eyes are shut and they are focusing inside themselves ?Again I think both sides should reconsider their positions and not let their ego cloud their view.

The only people to favor wind turbines are those who benefit financially from their operations while living far enough away not to be affected by the constant hum, the twirling shadows that bring vertigo. With 100's of turbines the cost is still very high at 15 cents per KWH to produce energy.
No, the only people who are opposed to them are those who simply lack the information about them needed to make a proper assessment on the matter, which happens in most industries unfortunately. I live near dozens of turbine and I've worked in the electricity industry for 8 years now and even teach in the field as well (I don't work on wind turbines, but I do like the look of them as they spin).
The health claims are 100% false, unless you fall off a turbine it won't affect your health. There have been many studies done all over the world in the past 20 years and they all show there are no health effects, but do show that those who think there side effects are make themselves sick via the nocebo effect (opposite of placebo effect).
As for your concern about $015/kWh being expensive why aren't you railing against the cost of gas plants which is more than 13 times the cost ($2.00/kWh when including construction costs the province paid as well as maintenance, staff, standby, etc. Or the 10s of billions of taxpayer dollars nuclear plants take (I am not against gas or nuclear btw, just making comparisons). Wind turbines are installed by private companies and the government only pays for power used (if the power isn't needed they don't take it or pay for it, unlike other plants which cost the same whether running or on standby and also require the regular purchasing of a fuel source).
I hope you take this in the spirit it was intended, this was not meant to be insulting but merely to help inform you so that you can base your opinion on the best available information instead of fearing that which is new and poorly understood as is human nature. :)
+Keatrith Amakiir In the US the Feds pay half the cost of building the wi d turbine, in tax breaks and initiatives. The owner keeps the turbines for 10 years selling the electricity to the nearest provider. When the owner has used the ten year life after depreciating the entire project cost, they sell to another company who likewise depreciates the turbines over another ten year period. There are huge amounts of money to be made in depreciation and government incentives. Wind power is not constant but in termite meaning you have to keep your old coal burning plant as backup.Nuclear is the cheapest, the safest option to fossil fuels, no global warming, no environmental issues and the produce huge amounts of energy. Oh what about the terrible explosions in the Ukraine as well as Japan.nothing high tech is worth a damn made by the Soviets, look up their Concordski for reference. It was an old plant with ancient technology operated by those who had next to no training. Fukishima, next up
+Bobby Paluga Fukishima- was an advanced Westinghouse sodium based plant, built on the RING OF FIRE, the most earthquake plagued place on earth, volcanos are under the Pacific and found throughout the area. Ocean earthquakes gives us killer waves, the combination destroyed the plants and irradiated the Pacific. New technology can us less radioactive fuel and leave low level waste which is placed in stainless steel containers to hold the used rods, the contained is filled with liquid glass and the containers can be buried under 100s of feet of soil where there are no water sources. This is much safer than what coal ash is doing to water tables in North Carolina and West Virginia, then we have the horrible effect of mercury pumped into the atmosphere. Coal is best left in the ground, clean energy is an oxymoron
Bobby Paluga So you're doubling down on the lack of understanding the situation eh?
please dont change our Country.

@@meco4068 nothing is more high minded and egotistical than that temple.
