      Thrilled to say that I've seen almost all the punk and hardcore bands that shaped my youth that I still love to this day 10+ years later.. grew up skating, building ramps and attempting garage bands all inspired by the likes of Pennywise, Fugazi, Agent Orange, Joe Strummer, the adolescents, descendants..bad brains. Fast forward I've seen nearly all of the ones who made it past that era.. jumped full fledge into the hardcore era of the chariot and others saw all of them before they broke up.. something about seeing past the establishment and learning to question what is a construct of society and what was right has always resonated with me.... when punks final wave died we lost something important for our youth.. I'll always agree that the first waves were always the best but when the youth got involved it reached a peak it could not have without us. Now the wave of the youth are brainwashed, unimaginative, lazy and arrogant...

      Eric Davis cos most of them are dumb and like garbage music. Pennywise is for the 90’s kids/teenagers who just wanted to skate and mosh

      you shaming kids for not sitting down and shutting up to watch old men cry on each other makes them leaving early more punk rock than staying. it's one thing to pay respect to the old guard that paved the way, it's something different to shove it in their face as if doing their own thing is inherently wrong in some way.
      those kids know something you don't. and they're marching off in unholy defiance to make the next succession of Bro Hymn. when their number gets called, they'll be up there screaming The Black Parade, shaming "youngins" for marching off in defiance just like you did here.

    I saw Pennywise at Louder Than Life and they absolutely killed it. During Society, this older dude came up to me and the people I was with asking if we've ever even heard of Pennywise and I started doing the rhythm of Bro Hymm and he was impressed and we shook hands and hung out during the rest of their set and I'm only 28

      May I just remind you that it was your generation that was supposed to shape us. You guys not starting punk bands (and even when you did you had security) isn't really our fault). It's kind of like institutionalised by suicidal tenancies where they say "we went to your schools, we went to your churches, we went to your institutional learning facilities" in the examples are replaced with shows and concerts.

    • @michaelcrespi
      @michaelcrespi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@soupeater7417 you have no clue how old I am (37) and no point of reference for the bands people in my age range have started lol furthermore last I checked the system is run by folks significantly older than myself so your misrepresentation of Psycho Mike’s lyrics are laughable at best. Start a band, ride a skateboard, do something that everybody else isn’t doing that’s your choice in life not anyone older than you🤘🏼

    • @soupeater7417
      @soupeater7417 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelcrespi so your childhood was shaped by people your age? Not Tony Hawk not pennywise not nofx or dead Kennedys? I'm not saying I won't do those things because I do skate and I will join a band when I finally find people who listen to punk music but you can't blame us for how our parents brought us up

    • @michaelcrespi
      @michaelcrespi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@soupeater7417 yes a big part of my childhood was being around my peers and what the group of friends were interested/involved in. Older role models are definitely ones who help shape what we envision ourselves growing up into adults as, but the activities and actions of our peers and friends is a very influential one as well. To sum it up don’t settle man, kick ass, don’t take no for an answer and with the internet now your ability to find other likeminded dudes around your age is enhanced way more than I had it back in the 90’s and early 2000’s so try to use it to your advantage😎
