I am a beagle owner myself and raising him was the toughest thing as there was hardly any beagle specific information on the internet. So I took it on me and decided to share all the knowledge that I learned the hard way. In my videos, I cover all kinds of topics related specifically to beagles. So make sure to subscribe to our channel as I upload 2 videos every week.

If you are sad, it's like they have a sixth sense (more than the usual dog) they will immediately start rolling on the floor showing their belly and come and put their cute little face on your lap! it's the best!

I was laying crying over both my grandparents passing and my beag came and hopped up on the bed and laid his head on mine and laid there with me until i was cried out. He never left me

They have their own language and if you watch their tails you know what they're up to. They are the best but stubborn! It took me 4 intense months to potty train my beagle. And she still counter surfs and gets into everything. She just turned 2.

Beagles are wonderful companions. For the first 2 or 3 years of life they so full of adventure and mischief they can be hard to keep up with, but every minute is fun (well (90% of them!!). You do need to train them well and give them lots of love. They will return that love in abundance for their entire lives and bring you much joy and happiness.

My Beagle leads me around with his nose. Once he gets a whiff of something he's in a world of his own. But I still love him dearly.

Our beagle seems to have a very exacting time system. At 4:30 in the afternoon he begins to bark to remind us it's feeding time. This happens every day.

Sorry but you made 1 factual error at the beginning. One does not own a Beagle. One is the pet human to a Beagle. And we can all agree that is pet humans to a Beagle are the luckiest alive!

“Negotiation” is exactly the right word. People COMMAND other breeds of dogs, but getting a beagle to do what is wanted requires NEGOTIATION.

Any advice for an obsession with food? My 5 month old beagle flips out around food, including treats, I've found it's nearly impossible to treat train her because her focus is only on the treat. I've had some success with just pets and affirmations when she does the right things, but she's been a little stubborn lol

Hi i have a 3 year old beagle named pluto
He is a good boy but he does not get along with other dogs and humans we tried socializing him but still be barks and scare all the people who visit us . I am asking this because my parents are dentist and the clinic is in the 1st floor of our house the patient enter the clinic where they met our dog pluto and he barks and jumps so much that they are scared of him what can i do for it

    • @BeagleCare
      @BeagleCare  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Immediate Management
Create a Safe Space: For the immediate term, create a comfortable and quiet space for Pluto away from the clinic entrance. This could be a room in your house where he doesn't hear the doorbell or see the patients. It's essential to make this space inviting with his bed, toys, and some water.
Use Barriers: When it's not possible to keep him in a separate room, consider using pet gates to restrict his access to the clinic area. This way, he can see and hear what's happening but can't directly interact with the visitors.
Signage: Put up a friendly sign informing visitors that you have a dog that may be loud or appear intimidating. This can prepare them and reduce their anxiety, making interactions more predictable.
      Long-term Solutions
Professional Training: Consider hiring a professional dog trainer or behaviorist who has experience with dogs showing aggressive or overly protective behaviors. They can assess Pluto's behavior in person and provide a customized training program.
Desensitization and Counterconditioning: This involves gradually exposing Pluto to the things he reacts negatively to (in this case, visitors) in a controlled way, starting from a distance or intensity that doesn't trigger a reaction, and rewarding him for calm behavior. Over time, this can help change his emotional response to guests.
Obedience Training: Work on basic obedience commands like sit, stay, come, and especially "quiet" when he barks. Training gives you tools to manage his behavior and helps him feel more secure by understanding what's expected of him.
Socialization: Continue socializing Pluto, but in a more controlled and gradual manner. Start with calm and non-threatening environments and slowly introduce him to new people and dogs in a way that doesn't overwhelm him.
Exercise and Mental Stimulation: A well-exercised dog is generally more relaxed. Ensure Pluto gets plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation to help reduce his stress levels and energy that might be contributing to his behavior.
Consult a Veterinarian: Sometimes, behavior issues stem from underlying medical problems. A visit to the vet can help rule out any health issues that might be affecting Pluto's behavior. Additionally, they can offer advice on behavior modification and, if necessary, refer you to a specialist.

I do not think STUBBORN is the right word. They are just SOOOO Focused on their NOSE or something else, that they CAN'T give you their 100% attention , so they SEEM stubborn
