Unpopular oppion on its own it's an ok movie in context no no no.
Toph had to touch the metal she wants to bend at first during the early days of metalbending, and in Korra’s time everyone can move metal like it’s plain earth. Impressive how bending progress is done in this show.
In the finale of ATLA she could bend metal without touching it to some degree. It was limited, but she could still do it. With her hands on metal she has more control over it
When I first watched the show and the episode where they first visited Bumi, I was wondering why the city was called Omashu and why it looked so interesting. I wasn't expecting them to actually explain why in a later episode. A beautiful story behind a unique city
It was satisfying to see the Ozai statue at the top as well as the New Ozai palace destroyed by Bumi. New Ozai simply did not fit as a name, and neither did the industrial city that it had become
It would have been nice to see Omashu in LOK. I would have liked to see what it would have been like in the modern times.
I wish we could’ve seen a Toph and King Bumi team up and all because they were the most powerful benders at that time!🪨
What about Lavabending and Sandbending? I'm pretty sure those things are also parts of Earthbending.
Ever since my first watch of ATLA, Earthbending has ALWAYS been my favorite bending element. There's just something so satisfying to me about literally shaking the ground and using it to defeat your enemies.
But you mostly need to be barefeet😫

Toph is very reluctant to allow anyone else to touch her feet, probably because insensitive handling there would make her deaf to other vibrations and thereby render her helpless (and because they are far more sensitive than other people's feet).

When you think about it, metal bending is essentially the earth variant of swamp or bloodbending, as they all involve simply carrying a body that contains the element being bended.

Ever since I saw the avatar Wan origin story I’ve always wondered how bending eventually became something that’s passed down biologically and not something you are just given by a lion turtle.
Maybe we’ll get to see how that happened in avatar studios

...I assumed it was passed down genetically from the start (people left the lion turtle cities to live permanently in the wilds with the power to manipulate one element...and when these people next bred there was a chance their offspring would inherit that element)
@@controlman7490 Actually, it's both spirituality and genetics. Genetics determine what kind of bender you are and spirituality determines how powerful you are.

Ama be honest, I still wish we got more of Aang's journey after ending the war, but I guess no one else could best a fully realized avatar Aang back then. P.s. Even just air bender Aang was a hand full to the point he demonstrated why the fire nation had to attack when the comet boost their powers. Otherwise, they couldn't hope to fight the air benders and win.
So question remains, who were the original benders? The ocean and moon spirits badger moles dragons sky bison, or the lion turtles

I bet that Toph is so sensetive to vibrarions that she can sense Draxx the destroyer while he stands so incredibly still he becomes invisible to the eye.
I am also wondering if Toph could metal bend a Transformer. After all a transformer is made from metal.
I want to know that for a fanfiction i am working on.
For the second part, whether Toph can bend a Transformer depends on how pure the metal in the Transformer is. If there’s no earth in its body, than Toph can’t bend it. I would assume the metal used by a spacefaring civilization wouldn’t have any impurities, but it’s your story.

Thumbnail is quite inaccurate, no? The founding of Omashu is labeled as 0 AG when in reality, Omashu was probably founded in like 500 BG, considering it was already a flourishing city by 300 BG around Avatar Kuruk's era.

No. Toph is bending the rock in the metal, the impurities that are left. Metals in the body, such as iron in the blood, is the pure chemical, so there'd be nothing for her to bend
