Evokes tremendous memories. Heck, I reember the Port Authority terminal in NYC piping in classical music after hours in the early 90x. This music had an effect. It worked for the intended purpose. The music in supermarkets today makes me reatless.

As far as I understand, nowadays music is heavily compressed and it is loud even at lower volumes… This background music is very soft and don’t have a lot of high or low frequencies which gives it this mellow and enveloping feel…
The nostalgic feel comes from the fact that it sounds like the music from that era, like everything else that was playing on the radio or TV or that is used even today to represent that time
Personally I enjoy it, it feels nostalgic even to me that never at the habit of going to shopping malls and live far from the United States
It is the same feeling I have when I hear gypsy jazz
    Anyway, thanks for that
I am really enjoying your channel, which I discover very recently
All the best for you and all your viewers

You are right about music nowadays being heavily compressed, to the point where it sounds loud even if the volume is low! I don't go to shopping malls much these days, and if I do, I no longer hear this type of music. I miss it. Thank you for watching.

    Great video ! 🎵🎵
    Big MUZAK fan here.
FYI - There are several videos featuring authentic MUZAK from the 60's and 70's
    on RAPTOR'S VIDEOS , JUST MUZAK , ULTRAFABUZAK and CV2200A TH-cam channels.

Thanks for watching. I visited some of those channels in doing my research. In fact, the music used in my video was taken from Just Muzak.

      @@athomewithmusic8698 Nice. 🎵🎵
I uploaded some old audio tapes on my channel that were recorded off the MUZAK live feed back in 1973.
They aren't as clear as the first and second generation tapes found on RAPTOR'S or CV2200A channels.
I play them as backgound music in my house almost daily.

I never liked Muzak in elevators, malls and doctor’s offices and still don’t. It’s so bland. It’s got no life or emotion. Do we really need music of any kind in an elevator? I’d much prefer silence. And isn’t there enough activity in a mall that piping in music is simply unnecessary?

Fortunately, Muzak does not seem to be as prevalent as it once was. The last time I went to the doctor's office, it was completely silent in the waiting room. Muzak seems to have mostly replaced by popular songs.
