I deleted my earlier message regarding the audio quality. Actually my audio system was not set correctly. This video is actually very smooth and easy to listen to. And the Circle of 5ths is like a Rosetta Stone for figuring out music ideas in 1 place. It's like a geographical 'compass' and can show you where you are and where to go. As an amateur student of music I like to have a printout of a nice circle of 5ths close at hand for study and reference. The circle of 5ths is a most valuable tool.

There's no hard and fast rule for this. You can try using a minor chord or a major chord, and see which one you like better. If it sounds good to you, it will most likely sound good to others!
