This is one of the two notebooks I always carry. I write in it with my Pelikan M1000 M Nib without any problem (on both sides). And I carry an Moleskine Volant in a leather cover. The last one is more for shopping list and if I have to tear any paper out of the Smythson. Greetings from The Netherlands.
The Smythson is 100% my favourite I don’t use them nearly as much is i would like, Ive just picketed up some sIlivine pockets for the same shopping list idea and tear out pages :)
Smythson notebooks are superb quality notebooks that are really great for journaling and diary. They are easy to store/archive and can become of a great sentimental value for your children and grandkids one day. But maybe I am just biased because I LOVE leather notebooks
Thank you. Yeah the price is high but the calf leather really makes it feel great and the paper is excellent with all the pens I've tested. I think once I get my head around the cost and treat it as a tool I'll be golden 🤣 I've spent £60+ on screwdrivers and I can get them for £2 in the shops 🤣
I think that Chelsea notebook is a B6 size (midway between an A5 and A6). The official B6 dimensions are apparently 125 × 176 mm (4.9 × 6.9 in), which isn't exactly the size you gave, but it seems pretty close.
@@manvstationery - heh - planner addict (or at least enthusiast ;-) ) since 2017 here, and planners/notebooks probably count as a special interest for me. Along the journey, I've learned a whole LOAD of obscure notebook sizes.
Smythson paper is the best I have ever used, even better than Tomoe River. Totally worth the money!

Oh that’s a great idea, Might use one for a common place book of “dad Info” that i can give to my son when he’s older.
Very nice. My EDC notebooks take a lot of abuse. I think it’s worth paying for a quality notebook that will stand up to everyday use. Great video.

@@julied9900 I went back and they had a pink A4 size for £60 but im not a fan of pink…….. and the Tight Yorkshireman in me said £60 is a no go 🤣

I saw 3 different sized smythsons in my local TK Max today. Blue leather. Dusky pink and baby pink. Thought of you :)

Haha sorry for mentioning it lol I picked up The Chelsea for £30 and i ended up with 2 more Leucherm1917s for £4 each lol
Yeah i like the size, when the Christmas tree comes don and i get my writing desk back i think that’s the plan for that one :)
