Made from 1969-1980. The early ones have alloy frames, the last model had a steel frame. They are a pain to break down. I have a 1969 still in box. Original after Christmas sale $49.95 sale sticker still on it. I have an extra set of grips if you need them

Now, that’s just a neat gun to have the opportunity to shoot. Back when Sturm-Ruger originally issued their 22 pistol we all knew that the design was intentionally mimicking the Luger. Thanks for bringing this one to us to see. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Really nice looking pistol & pretty accurate. Some of the older ones wouldnt cycle if fps was under 1050 or if projectile was 30gr & less. That toggle action works good. Sweet! Thanks & take care. 🙏👍🇺🇸🎯☕️

I had one of the Erma made ones I bought in 1968 just before the 68 GCA went into effect. I foolishly let it escape and have regretted it ever since. If I ever trip over one of their NAVY models, basically a 22LR Luger Carbine look alike, I will probably melt my credit card to bring it home with me.

Outstanding! When they are new like that work great. Many got shot out and after years of shooting them as they are so much fun. The original Luger was chambered in 30 Luger. Then Germany made them in 30 Luger and 9mm with a 22 adpater kit. It was the main sidearm of Germany in WW1 and early WW2. Many Lugers were brought back from GI's in both wars in both calibers. It was replaced by the Walther P38. All are highly collectable as most guns from that period are. You got a good one there Al! Great video.

Neat. I wish someone would start making the Luger again. Maybe I could afford one then😂😂

That looks like a fun little plinker. But if I break down and buy yet another .22lr pistol it's going to be Ruger's 75th anniversary edition of the Mark IV.
I was born on Armistice Day (after WWII, but before the name was changed to Veteran's Day), so I grew up watching war movies and seeing Lugers in the hands of the Jerrys. Never owned one, or a copy, and the only caliber I was aware of for those German pistols was 9mm.

Good choice. I have a Ruger Mark 2 that I bought new many years ago. It's still like new after firing thousands of rounds. 22 ammo is dirty so it's a good idea to keep the extractor and breech clean.

I wanted a Luger forever, but when I'd find them, they're just so expensive. Some years back, I got something in the ballpark. I picked up an Umarex Legends P.08 Luger blowback CO2 BB pistol. At least it's affordable and cheap to shoot!

I have one just like that. I've heard they can be unreliable, but I haven't had much trouble with mine. I also have a 1940 date DWM Luger, 9mm. The 45 variety was only made in limited quantities for U.S. millitary trials but lost out to the 1911. The other caliber they are found in was .30 Luger, 7.65mm. The 45s are very rare and valuable. You got a nice piece there and thanks for the content, enjoy your videos very much.

I think only 9 were made in .45 for testing and only 3 have been located so far.
