Awesome tips and excellent maintenance work! 👍❄️❄️❄️ Not much to worry about here in the south, however. We just use shovels if we need to. I have one that i use for raking leaves that is very wide and makes short work of the snow when necessary. Thanks for sharing, Chad! Hopefully you'll be able to blow lots of snow this winter. Of course, it goes without saying I hope everyone has a safe winter without any major blizzards that threaten life and property......just enough snow to make the season enjoyable. 😎
Thanks, Dave. It's a real thing. Toro worked with National Day Calendar in 2023 to have October 15-23 established as National Snow Blower Maintenance Week each year - so that people remember to get their snowblower ready for winter. :)
Good Morning Sir, Thank You Very Kindly For Your OUTSTANDING Informative Video 👌🧐👍 Yes Pull Cord Check Is Very Important ( I did bang myself on the mouth 🤣👍) Electric snowblower are FAST 🥴 I change the oil in the front gear box auger 🧐👍Yes I do paint and oil in spring time the Entire snowblower 🤣👍Be well Sir CHeers 🍻🍻
It's a smart idea to to the painting and oiling in the spring on these machines. I wish I would have touched up those few dings in the spring - so that they didn't make little rust spots in the paint over the summer. And thanks for the reminder about changing the oil in the auger gear box! I've never done that on my Toro. How often do you do yours? Is that something that needs done once every few years?
Enjoy your channel watched video don't even have a snow shovel. I came from Chicago suburbs live in TN almost by Alabama I miss the snow a little but not the work. I would finish shoveling and the snow plow would come by. It does snow here but usually is gone in a couple days.
Thanks again for watching! We really appreciate the people like you who watch the videos, leave comments, and are part of our community. We have some good friends who live in the Nashville area, and have made a few camping trips down there to TN. It's a beautiful state! I would miss the snow for sure. Ever since I was a kid, I've always loved plowing snow, driving in the snow, and playing in the snow. But as I get older - the cold starts to get to me more each year. If only there was a way to enjoy the snow without the cold temperatures! :)
@PurpleCollarLife great camping down here Tim's Ford lake. I put up our pontoon for the winter to soon. It's going to be 85 today. I watch because we have alot in common enjoy your channel.
Great video. The big question is, what will this winter season have in store for us? I have a 2022 Toro Power Max HD 1232 that I need to do the winter maintenance prep also. Toro also makes a 0w30 full synthetic snow blower oil that I plan on using this winter. The 5w30 Toro winter oil works perfectly, but this winter I am going to use the full synthetic 0w30 sense the engine is fully broken in. I also have a feeling were in for a real winter this year in southeastern Michigan. It seems snowy winter cycles come every four or five years or so. I am 70 and our Michigan winters are not what they used to be in the 60's and 70's. Even in northern Michigan the snow fall has not been as consistent as in years past. We are overdue in this part of the country for a serious winter. I am not all in on the global warming craze, because just a few years back we had two back-to-back extremely cold and snowy winters to deal with. I can remember walking my little Beagle Tootsie during those two cold and snowy winters. The snow was over my knees, and I had to use my legs to make paths for Tootsie to follow behind me while walking at the park. I didn't have my Toro Power Max HD back then and I sure could have used it to blow all the snow we got those two years in a row. I live near train tracks and during those winters it was the first time I witnessed the railroad using a snowplow to clear the tracks. Enjoy your many videos. Thanks for reminding us to get our snow blowers ready for winter.
I remember the winters here in NW PA where the lake-effect snow hit in November, and the snow stayed on the ground until Spring. In the last decade or so, there's usually stretches of time here where we have no snow on the ground. Like your Tootsie - our Olive likes to walk in the cleared paths. That's why we make "pooping paths" using the Toro when there is deep snow. :) I'd love to see a train with the plow on clearing snow - that must be amazing in person. Thanks for watching! It's a full day of rain here today.
The spark plug inner porcelin looked black, if it is shiny black that's oil, if it's dull black that's gas. Easy way to tell waht's going on inside the engine.
That's great information! Thank you, Mark. This will be super helpful when I pull plugs from other equipment in the future. I've heard that when I shut off the gasoline and let the engine run itself dry and stall out - it actually can sometimes burn a little bit of oil when it's starving for fuel, which will coat the plug with some oil. Do you know if that's true?

Thanks! Yes - just enough snow to enjoy would be perfect! The occasional snow storm that closes schools and lets me work from home would be great. :)
Sir Did You Made That Up ( Snowblower maintenance week ) 🤔🙄🤣👍

@@PurpleCollarLife Can't imagine running out of gas would have any effect on the oil or piston rings. Maybe it's an old wives tale.
2 old year old oil. Yikes
Yep - I'm glad I have it ready for this winter. I was not prepared for last winter. Thankfully - the snow blower never got used last year.
