- Guard Your Silver and Gold By Doing These 3 Things discusses the various methods in which stackers can protect their precious metals stacks. If you aren't already taking these precautions to protect your silver and gold, you need to rethink your security measures. We also discuss some of the most ridiculous security measures we have heard of from different comments and content creators on TH-cam.

Safety and Security Isn't Expensive, It's Priceless! Never skimp on security systems, cameras and safes, best money ever spent. Thanks for the video Andrew and Matt. Keep up the good work.......God Bless
We appreciate you, Hoff!
1) For smash-n-grab and forced disclosure, i like the idea of a dummy safe with value around $2-4K
2) For ease of access, i like idea of garage storage in a common container incluttered corner
3) For privavcy, i like idea of not talking to your kids about it, not watching these videos when friends are over, not talking about it, etc.
4) Now I just have to save up to buy some frickin' coins so i can implement such grand suggestions. Doh! 😢
Your safe is a target, ive burried for years safely. I also had a place burn down, lost everything there. Bury is so much safer especially the way i do it.
Another Great Show Today!
My Brother lives in Western Montana and a couple years ago I was visiting and we walked behind his place up the side of his mountain and we found a giant safe that the thief’s had stolen and they had taken a grinder to the back of it. There was an old logging road above that they found. Then somehow drug it even deeper into the woods to open it. You just couldn’t believe how and where this giant safe was. I Hate the Thieves!!!🤬
Thanks for watching
hi. i'm old school, i guess. but i don't put all my eggs in the same basket. i've used hidey holes, fake walls, old appliances, etc. to hide all kinds of things. i don't trust banks, commercial vaults, or home safes. i do have a decoy safe loaded with bricks and old nuts and bolts, though. lol. thank you for your videos and thoughts.
Regarding 0:50, the famous Saddle Ridge Gold Coins Hoard was found buried in February 2013 containing 1,427 gold coins unearthed in the western half of the Shasta Cascade region, of Northern California. Although the face value of the gold coins totaled $27,980, they were assessed to be worth around $10 million. The buried treasure trove contained $27,460 in twenty-dollar double eagle gold coins, $500 in ten-dollar gold eagle coins, and $20 in five-dollar half eagle gold coins, dating from 1847 to 1894. The gold coins were contained in metal cans that had since rusted. It was the largest known discovery of buried gold coins treasure ever recovered in the United States.
If I have to evacuate my house my silver is going with me. I own a lot of heavy silver but that's not going to stop me from taking it. Lastly while in transit with your metals trust no one, especially the authorities/cops! Keep it hidden and on the down low.
How are you going to transport it though? With a cart? You’d be an open target.
@@BayshoreBullion In my truck next to my AR-15 👍
Im strapped daily, well practiced. Practiced scenerios with wife & instructers. Most secure off property, homeinvasion scenerios. OUR safes with alarms, smoke, heat, motion, and fire , plus 3 redundant camera angles on building. Long term stacker and numia collector. Critically think.
If the safe isn't small enough for them to just carry away, then someone had to deliver and/or install it. That's just more strangers who know you have something worth protecting.
True. Good to hire a trustworthy person for that.
all hobby metal detectors really go down 25 cm 10 to 12 inches deep, 4 feet is ok, another great video x Mine is in safes too,
Hello! Happy New Year! 🎉🍾🎊🎈 Can you give any brand names of safes that you would choose to store your stacks in?
Liberty.
@ thank you
My best friend’s dad while i was growing up was in the FBI in charge of western usa bank robberies. He said “don’t have a safe that you can physically fit into”.
I would also consider insurance. You can get a PM specific stand alone policy for 1/2 of 1% of the policy value. I have a video of my stack, and a spreadsheet with everything listed in a different location.
Insurance is def a plus.
You guys are awsome!! Great ch. Andrew's a great addition to the community matt.
Thanks for watching
No doubt!
All good stuff. I have been in the process of selling off premium silver on ebay, and regular stuff at the LCS this year. I have way too much silver...
Take the gold with, leave the silver to keep the safe from floating away.
Great video on security and common sense ideas.
Always a good time, thanks guys 👍
Our pleasure!
Great information guys, thanks for sharing it and causing me to reconsider my goals and strategies.
Our pleasure!
I throw all my shit between the studs and wall and forget about it for another 40 years
I'm about a year in -- bought a $800 safe for the home few years ago -- Andrew is right 2x the cost now. I'll add I have my stuff in a Burn Bag in the safe. I guess these burn bags help ? Can't hurt. About 20 bucks on Am***n. Love the videos.
Thank you!
A alarm system is a bona fide alarm company would be good protection
The only time I would bury my gold/silver is if the government tried confiscating it like they did during the Great Depression.
History will repeat itself. Plan accordingly.
Actually, it was voluntary redemption back then. No forced confiscation, no govt agents seizing gold.
Inconspicuous hiding place inside the house. Aka false wall or something. 9 times out of 10, you’ll get a smash and grab as opposed to an organized heist crew. Am I mistaken!?
💯
Buy a nice safe
Put your poker
chips inside
Leave the door
open
Get a cheap, lightweight decoy safe and put it in the Master Bedroom closet, 1st place they look, and throw a handful of pennies in it and they will leave with it fast thinking they have found a huge score
Speaking for myself only, I can’t understand the mentality of paying for and storing a 3k lb safe in my home. And then if a hurricane comes I have to stay and defend it, because no safe is truly secure.
You def aren’t bringing the safe with you 😂
All the thief has to do is find the safe, which should not be that hard. If they got time, they can remove the safe and figure out how to open it later.
If you are to do a safe, do it in a way that’s nearly impossible to find. If you want to fuck over the thief, plant another easy to find dummy safe and fill it with crap to weigh it down.
If you cant do a concrete floor a narow closet above a crawlspace, drill holes through the sub floor.get long carriage bolts or threaded rod, through the floor then 5/8 unistrut to span the floor joyces underneath.run the bolts through the factory holes washers then nuts.if you really want it extra secure screw the unistrut to the joyces.all can be purchased at home depot for under 50.00$.make sure the bolts are sized to the factory anchor holes in the safe.
If GSR goes down to somwhere between 10 and 20, all those transportation issues will be a good problem to have and nobody will complain about that.
Yeah it will be worth more but just as big of a pain to transport. Nothing is going to change the weight of it.
@BayshoreBullion if you have let's say 500 oz. of gold or more transportation would be an issue too.
@@925inder2 It would be but not too many people have 500 ounces of gold. Let's be realistic. Much more likely someone having 500+ ounces of silver.
Andrew,
(In my best scarface voice)....Say hello to my little friend 😂❤

whats the one place someone wont dig through? food. why break into the house for a box of cereal. most times its get in get out. not what they got for food?
Engaging and informative. Thank you.
Thanks for watching
Glad it was helpful!
Stormy !! Hey. You guys are doing great !! Thank you for taking the time to even respond to me. Means a lot. Your a OG!!
Any time!
I keep most of my gold in safety deposit boxes, I did have to make an appointment during Covid and I brought it home. Then took it back moths later.
Tractor supply on Black Friday has the best deals on safes.
places like tractor supply and harbor freight usually sell gun safes, and honestly those are rarely high security enough. They’re not even legally considered a safe, they’re generally considered a “security cabinet”
If you’re gonna buy a safe spend the $$$ and get a TL-15 or a TL-30. Or at minimum a UL rated burglary safe.
That's great to keep you guns from you kids but I can be in that safe in 15 minutes. Best advice he gave was keep your mouth shut. Don't tell anyone. The most valuable thing people can steal is metals and guns.
@williambush7971 yeah it will keep the common criminal out and like you said, keeps guns out of reach from the kids.
More importantly it's fire resistant. I keep all my gold and silver in there as well. I'm a firefighter so I see a lot of house fires. I mainly wanted something to protect my valuables from fire.
@@allthingssilver7635 I recommend you put your most valuable, like gold in a cheap Sentry fireproof container and then put it in your save. The bottom of the safe seems to be the safest in a fire.
@@allthingssilver7635 virtually any decent burglary safe (or especially a TL-15) is gonna be quite fire resistant. Probably even more so than a standard issue gun safe. I don’t even think they make modern burglary safes that aren’t also fire resistant.
You HIT IT right on the HEAD.
Shutda’ EFF up about your stack.
My kid brought over one of his good friends to “show off” my stack when I just started out. After I bitched him out, I explained to him that NO ONE is to know about these valuables. Cause if they do know, then HE may not get any of it, after someone steals it.
Great story. Never tell your kids about your stash. They don't know or understand.
A pound of copper is around upper $3. Whats messed up is the folks selling copper rounds, they sell em for around $3 per OUNCE...
A lb of copper is approximately 4.50

converted a washing machine into a diversion safe, only way to know its a diversion save would be to take it apart from the back and i dont see any theifs doing that
Reason 587 why I stopped stacking silver…mass and weight becomes not practical.
Matt & Andrew...Safes = GREAT...burying in the back yard = WTF???. Speaking of WTF...Matt..."at that time I had ONLY 4 oz of gold"...dude, wish I had 4 x 1 oz coins now. Totally agree with Andrew's protection method, safes and firearms, beyond that, I don't comment publicly or privately how I protect what I have...silence is golden. Have to agree with you on the safe through the floor Matt...sounds like you have the same luck I do...if it can go wrong...it will...several times.
Good job fellas!!!
Thank you for continuing to provide the content I need to ensure my family survives the upcoming apocalypse!
LOL! My man! I got you covered, Bro! lol.
Safe deposit box , belong to the bank read the small print.
good luck moving my safe. the door is 900 pounds
I not only have my precious metals in a safe place I have everything labeled on how much I paid for that particular item in case I ever need to sell anything
That's a good idea
I wish I would have done that when I started
I love brass/lead too
You need brass and lead to protect your pm’s
What a whole different alien world you guys live in compared to the rural area of Alaska I'm in. I don't think I could adjust. Good show though guys lots of valid tips for most people.
Regular Metal detectors will not find burried hoards 4 ft. deep. Positive for burrying in the ground is that fire will not touch that.
Flood?
@heidigib01 less of an issue for most.
Not a fan of burying… risk of damage, high risk of intended recipient not being able to retrieve it, has to be 3-4 ft deep to avoid detection, way too cumbersome to access (and most stackers want frequent access), if stacking silver (.999 and/or constitutional) the burial container may need to be huge.
Bury it...camera system to phone if anyone in the area...safe as a toad in Gods pocket!
Good stuff guys
weird physics ... the more expensive silver gets the lighter it gets
🧐
Ever since i bought the safe, ive been too brike to put anything in it.. 😂
😂
Not a fan of bank and pvt vaulting! Great interview stormy 😊
A copper penny is just about 3 cents at todays copper price (4.50$/lb). Considering you can buy them for a cent and sort them, its literally free money given they legalize the sale for the copper melted. But of course currently you can just sell the pennies themselves. Think of it like silver in coins after 1964, then you might not think he's so dumb!
I wouldn’t waste my time storing copper. Not for me.
Yep, a safe would do, especially for gold. See you later guys.
Thanks for watching
🤜💥🤛 gps co-ords are a good idea if you bury it. 👍
If a criminal can find a safe They can make you open It.
Just send it to me and I'll hang onto it for you. 😂😉

Switzerland is the safest jurisdiction
Nowadays, you can buy fake gold and silver coins and small dummy safe for smash and grab scenarios.

Great tips all! I worry most what would happen if they hold a gun to my wife's head...

A pound of copper is a little over $4
Those who live in a war zone must take and run. A safe won't help.
Obviously. A safe is where you store it until you need to take it and run.
@@BayshoreBullion No!! If you have a warning of a missile attack and a siren or immediate evacuation from areas.

Two words: Roomba Boomba.
Stormy don't forget a safe can be a write off for your business. 😮
Resale value on a used safe isn't all that and if you close up shop you can always sell the safe to the wife at a deep discount.
Oh and safe$ plural.😂
His and hers because you know shared spaces...
copper is 3 bucks a pound. silver was 3 bucks an ounce in the 90s. if you wanted to speculate on copper, buying a huge chunk wouldnt be that expensive and you definitely could epoxy it and bury that in your yard. the world is still using copper and silver on wires and getting electricity to the world and i dont think demand is going down anytime soon. wouldnt hurt to own a couple hundred pounds of it haha
Stormy's house catches fire: fire dept shows up, takes all the silver, lets the house burn. 🤣 I've been happy with Alpine Gold paying me to vault my PM, but it does run the risk of not holding it.
You don't own it if you don't hold it.
I love Andrews outlook during huricane. I am staying with his shot gun.

.03 cents of copper in a penny from 1909-1982 so if a guy had trash cans full of them packed into a basement it would add up to more than you think.
Is there anything positive ????
I think $4 - lb for pennies
I have actually buried some silver. 😂
Haha. A bookbag of gold? 1,200 ounces of silver?
I mean Ive got like 25 ounces of silver...Less than i did 2 months ago. Things are freaking rough and i hate property taxes.
At least you have it to fall back on. Just buy what you can when you can. It adds up over time
Safest bet is to boof it
You ain’t boofing silver 😂
Is your name stormy or matt? lol

Metal detector only goes down a few inches. No way will it detect a stash over a foot down, buried in the yard.
Andrew has his priorities correct - send the family somewhere safe.
You're apparently unaware of Minelab metal detectors.
👍👍😀👍👍
Conversation drifted. Can you at least put the 3 methods in your comments?
Safe, pew pew, security system.
I’m that guy who couldn’t find his silver stash. I literally dig up the entire yard. Sold the house, lesson learned
How?????
Dude that freaking sucks lol. I've actually lost a 1/10th ounce gold coin once. F8ck1ng idiot.

We are the money chabgers. I can transport 2 Silver MBs, 1 Gold MB, in our off property vault with safes but5 of us only have access and store there, its simple and efficient. NO PRIVATE VAULTS. I have home safes, Riggers mo ed em. $ 7500 each in 2012, good luck finding too. Truth.... too for guns& ammo' documents, and about 5% of stacks i use for trade sell buy.. im old school. Know self defense. Im 66 im still okay. I wear bullion . discreetly
Maybe your neighbor dug it up?
How far down was it? Could’ve just bought a metal detector to try to find it if it wasn’t too far down
PVC kills silver
Oh crap
Just do a bank deposit box. If your worried that SHTF moment and that’s not secure, you’ll have time to get it out.
And there’s safe deposit insurance!
And what if banks close down and you don’t have access?
@@BayshoreBullion are you saying that banks will close permanently and deposit box renters won’t have access to their stuff? I’ve never heard of such a thing.
I’ve had my metal in a bank deposit box for 20 years. I’ve never needed to access it.
@@cl5619 in a SHTF scenario…the dollar collapses or we are under Marshall law. You def won’t have access to it.
@@BayshoreBullionI expect that a SHTF scenario would roll out slow enough for me to have time to go down to the bank to get my metal, well before martial law or something crazy like that.
The bank risk, I estimate, is far less vs risk of storage in a safe in my situation. I live in an apartment, and any safe would be easy to find and remove.
🌎🗿™️
Do either of these guys own a car??? They build um with a thing called a trunk ya know. If you don't own one who wants to walk the streets carrying around a sack of gold ???
You are going to leave your precious metals in the trunk of your car? Good idea if you plan on living in your car. If not you’ll wake up one day and it won’t be there.
@@BayshoreBullion I sure would until I get to my bug out cabin. I ain't leaving it behind that I can tell ya.
Duh
First lol
Store in a bank vault lock box. Safest place.
In a SHTF scenario most likely banks won’t be open.
Never store anything valuable in a bank. They are thieves and if a gold confiscation happens that's the first place they go.
NOOOOO! You will not be able to access your valuables in a safe deposit box when the bank is not open. Just think about the pandemic - many banks were closed and also had reduced hours . Some banks you could only access the drive thru, but they wouldn’t allow people inside. Very bad idea.
