Thank you for watching! To clarify, the reason why I regard this game as "the most underrated" is, in part, due to its bizarre nature that lead many Yakuza fans to not even regard it as a proper Yakuza game. Despite there being no language barrier present, or emulation required to play it on a modern system, this is the one game I feel gets overlooked the most. The other spin-offs either have an incredibly passionate backing regardless of size (Judgment, Kurohyou) or an infamous status that leads to them being promptly discussed (Dead Souls, Kenzan). At least, that's the way I see it. I hope this video's namesake won't come off as just TH-cam clickbait, as my main goal with it is to shine a light on a mislabelled game that offers everything a great Yakuza game should, despite the lack of awareness around it. Once again, thank you for your time. Cheers!
I've always played the shaker minigame by holding the controller vertically with one hand in the center and the other underneath as if I were holding a real shaker and moving it up and down instead of left and right, it's much easier that way, and you don't risk throwing the controller across the room.😅
Despite public consensus, I love the buggy in Lost Paradise so much, the drifting especially. At least 10-15% of my gameplay must have been me dicking around in that thing.
I think it has to do with licensing issues. It released just a while before Yakuza went multiplatform (or before Yakuza truly blew up). It would've been amazing if it released a few years later cause then it most certainly would've released on PC and Xbox. But by now, I'm surprised this game is still being sold unlike most licensed games that are taken off stores after a few years.
I really need this game on PC, especially since when I listen to Yakuza music in my free time or during work out sessions, this game's music is present there, it's spectacular and that alone makes me want to play it. Hoping they celebrate the game's 5th anniversary by porting it on other modern systems rather than it being a PS4 exclusive.
Lost Paradise definitely need to be multiplatform and this proves RGG can successfully adapt a manga/anime with the RGG formula. I wonder if RGG will someday make a Jojo game, that would be cool! Also as @Mike_07 pointed out on suggestions for future analysis video, I really agree on 3 of his suggestions but honestly you do you, your videos are all informative and entertaining to watch!
@@gokudoni You're very welcome! After Ishin got localized years after its release and both Judgment games suddenly shadowdropped on PC, there may be hope for Lost Paradise port/remaster lol
As someone completely unfamiliar with the source material, this game is absolutely worth picking up digitally on sale, and it often goes on sale for like $5. It's far from flawless, but has so much personality and charm.
Extremely common Gokudoni W, and I agree that FOTNS is super underrated. Also I have some suggestions for future analysis videos: - Takumi Someya analysis of some kind, similar to the Izo one - Tetsu Tachibana analysis - A general video essay of some kind about how Yakuza games are some of the most genuine and wholesome video games Also I have an idea for a mini-series of videos you could do. Since you said you are quite knowledgable about music and all that, maybe you could do a small series where you analyse and dissect different yakuza OSTs. Either way, keep up the good work kyodai! You are one of the best youtubers out there!
You're too kind! Thank you for such kind words :D I definitely intend to cover Someya in a proper character analysis down the line (as he's one of my favourite villains by far) and covering Tachibana sounds amazing as well! The idea of making a separate series for music analyses is something I've considered doing, as far back as when I did the video on Mine, so I'm glad to see there's more people interested in the prospect. Once again, thank you for your time and suggestions!
I knew NOTHING about fist of the north star, when I started playing and I had so much fun with it. and yes, I bought the kiryu skin and I loved it and Masami Iwasaki voicing one of the bosses was incredible, I love him so much ❤ everyone did an amazing job, 10/10 game, thank you RGG ❤

@@gokudoni i would recommend the first series, grappler baki tho, its all on TH-cam too (and its good to watch cause the netflix series just completely skips over it)
Honestly RGG should really do another Yakuza game with a different IP like Berserk or Jojo cuz if these two happened oh boi i will buy it in just a few seconds
@@gokudoni boi I would pay million to play a gintama Yakuza game since it have the same type of humor and some of the main cast of gintama voice in Yakuza like haruka is kagura or shinji is voiced by gintoki himself
Love the video. I have platinum for Hokuto Ga Gotoku. Hokuto no Ken has been my favorite manga since childhood. Loved it well before I enjoyed the Yakuza franchise. I freaked out when I saw the game's introduction when Kiryu quoted Kenshiro. HnK is still popular even after 40 years. I really hope RGG does a part 2 since the plot of Lost Paradise was a creative big "side story" on their part. Thanks for featuring it. I'm glad RGG added their formula to this game. The older HnK games were mostly beat em ups and musou 😊
I have yet to play this game but I already know I'm going to love it. Because unlike most anime games this one looks like it was made with genuine love and passion. And it not being another arena fighting game is a major plus point. We REALLY need more anime games like Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise or Hokuto Ga Gotoku. Imagine an open world JoJo game made by RGG Studio. I'm not a FotNS fan so I wasn't sure if I was going to watch the anime first or play the game first. But after this video I think I'll play Lost Paradise first after finishing Gravity Rush 2. Thanks!
Absolutely agree! I wish more anime IPs got adaptations like this, as I'm a huge fan of the medium too. Also, hope you're enjoying Gravity Rush. I hear it's an amazing series!
I just started it yesterday! Talk about great timing. As a Hokuto no Ken fan, I was a little wary about RGG and HnK mixing together but it's really good so far.
Currently 15.99 (pounds sterling) on PS store. Can also get a Kiryu skin. A mad mix of Yakuza, Mad Max, mortal Kombat and Azuras Wrath? I'm sold! Even though I'm only vaguely familiar with the manga
I love this game. I knew nothing about the characters of FOTNS outside of adverts at the beginning of Manga films when I was younger, but I loved Yakuza 0, so I had to buy it. I was not disappointed. A superb game from start to finish. It is just brilliant. It's a tragedy we don't have much chance of a sequel...
I bought FOTNS Lost Paradise a few years ago, along with the Kiryu skin but then never got around to playing it until a few days ago, due to a backlog of games and a bit of burnout from playing all the other Yakuza games from 0-6 pretty much back to back. But after finishing Like a Dragon Ishin on my PC, and having by then picked up a PS5, I decided to give it a go. I'm only up to Chapter 4 but so far I've been pleasantly surprised. The English dub is pretty good but I'll be mostly playing it in Japanese with the Kiryu skin, as a sort of Like A Dragon "ElseWorlds" tale.
I only found out about this game a few months back, even though it's not the sort of game I'd usually try I snapped it up immediately since it was an RGG game - the maps, mechanisms, substories - it's definitely at least a Yakuza cousin!
I wish more people would talk about this game more so it can open the conversation to other IPs RGG can adapt. Either in terms of anime or western animation. Some anime I’d like to see them adapt are K Project and Afro Samurai. For western animation, maybe Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and Popeye
Really enjoyed this game, finished it too. Then started on post game and played for about 15 hours using suspend instead of saving. Naturally a power cut meant all that progress was lost and I couldn't bring myself to go back
Terribly sorry to hear that! It's understandable why you dropped it, cause even as a "completionist" myself, I found it hard to keep up with the grind after having done all the substories. Thankfully, you've experienced the best parts of the game on the critical path already 👍
Grinding arena for talisman upgrades to get the Platinum really soured the game for me. But for someone who doesn't wanna get platinum and just experience the game it's an absolute blast and I can't recommend it enough.
honestly this has to be one of my favourite games as a fan of the manga and anime movies based on it a must try for every yakuza fan or FOTNS fan also lets hope that newly leaked anime adaption is good...
Having played Kenzan and Ishin and realizing how bizarre they are to expereince with no prior knowledge of their historical analogs, I've vowed not to touch this game until I finish the anime. I read the first volume, and I would say I'm hooked were it not for the fact that the series and manga are as inaccessible as humanly possible. When I have the money for it, I'll find a way to watch the show, and then I'm jumping straight onto this game, because you've just sold me on basically every part of it I was worried I wouldn't enjoy.
0:43 since you've mentioned it, I'm going through the Yakuza series (release order) on my PS3 since it's all I have to play the series, currently on 4 but I have been looking for translations of the games that are not translated officially, I only know of MajDima's Y0 translation but I heard a few people having problems with it, I'd like to know if there are good translations for the PS3 games like 0 (or a fool proof tutorial on how to install majDima's), Kiwami and the spin offs if any of you know any!
