This was a very helpful video. I was going to buy an apartment building in Marion, but it is a depressing looking place. It makes no sense to invest in a dying city. Losing population every year is a no-go. Thanks for the great video.
I have lived here my whole life, raised my kids here. Marion is not a bad place to live. There is not a ton that goes on but the people are nice for the most part and it's not a high tax place, it's affordable. I grew up just outside city limits and it was a great childhood for me. Some in the comments harp on the negatives, but compared to most places Marion is a safe pretty quiet place to live. Population around 22,000 not much has changed over the years. If you want loud, busy, high cost of living, high crime, Marion is NOT for you.
I used to live in Marion from 10/16/1996 to 5/13/2018 and grew up in nearby Van Buren from 11/1/1985 to 10/15/1996. I now live in Fort Wayne where I am thriving and currently going through a dispute over outdoor security cameras.

I was born and raised here. Moved for a few years and came back and it got 15 times worse. I'm 21. This place is no good. Everyone knows everyone. And is VERY small. Watch you you talk or give information too they cant be trusted. I know more than half the city and people that live here and their all snakes and have too much family drama. Their isn't nothing for kids to do here all we got is 1000 restaurants and a bunch of people on drugs....stay safe. If you not from here you just don't know 🤷 💯
Marion is actually a really bad place. Anywhere close to downtown from 1st to 7th street is pretty bad and around 14th to 20th meridian boots gallatin streets is all bad.
🤣Whats considered "bad" to those living in Marion and the scale of bad is laughable to most other places. You have no clue if the only place you know is Grant Co.
Born here it’s a good city 🏙️ I think it’s a good city to start from then move and go for bigger and better but it’s home 🏡

It was in late 60s and 70s when I grew up in marion at brinker heights
Marathon gas station downtown by cvs C mart on 7th street. And food mart on 33rd and Washington don’t stop at night.
