if i had to introduce anyone to bcnr id show them performance, i feel like it shows how great the band’s music and the different genres of music they can make - theres more aggressive athens france and sunglasses and the more somber, orchestral haldern . and the fact they improvised haldern here shows how insanely talented they are . also the random say it aint so cover shows how the band dont take themselves too seriously and are really just a group of friends 😭
I just discovered BCNR yesterday and I love both sides of them, the heavy angry punk, and this new absolutely beautiful orchestrated song. God I really hope they do more longer form stuff like this, they excel at developing their ideas way better than most bands. They're the same age as me and I wish I could find people like this to make music with.

yea they are inspired by slint but so are another 100 million bands. slint was just that important in the long run, you can still hear it to this day in rock music
if this band was born in iceland everyone would say it's a masterpiece. For me they are a good band, original sounds and interesting lyrics, their record debut is great.

it's like the quintessential alt-rock riff for some reason i always play it, when you jam you tend to revert to that same riff eventually, plenty of weezer songs have some variant of it, destroyed by hippie powers by car seat headrest is literally the exact riff they play here, it's as if the jazz lick ! but as an alt-rock chord progression anyways that's my guess at least, i know nothing about theory so i'm guessing it has a name already
