Greyhounds are awesome for first time dog owners. They don’t bark. Making eye contact with them only strengthens their bond. Also, just need four/five things: Water, food, dog bowls, a leash for 30 minutes of walking per day, a dog bed, and a sofa. Dog bed could include any of the following: sofa, crate, dog bed, sofa, and/or your bed. Also, they are great apartment dogs since they love meeting people and don’t bark.
I was surprised when my large dog wasn't the list, Great Pyrenees. Mine is 9 months old and 71 pounds, super gentle and very smart. Her dad weighed 150 and mom is about 100, we expect her to be about 100.
I've seen an aggressive and out-of-control Great Pyrenees that the owner claimed was in training as a service dog before it broke its lead and tried to attack my puppy. All right, maybe, for a strong and experienced owner with a strong lead and collar, but certainly not for a first-time dog owner.
@@holleabee8835 I had always liked GPs until I had to hide my Norwegian Elkhound puppy in a clothes dryer in the home center appliance display and jump on top of the machine myself. The GP was totally out of control having broken its lead. That is the only bad experience I've had with a GP, and most of the ones I have met have been wonderful, but...
I am honestly very shocked that the German Shepherd isn't on their , but the reason is yes if they are pure - bred then they may be un problematic but you know what can happen
@@titangamer1790 right but this video clearly states “for first time owners” meaning the easiest dogs to take care of gsd is not only high maintenance but it is also not suitable for first time pet owners hence why u make the argument if u take the time and concentration to make them good dogs
@@UnoForFree Alot of people get GSDs as first time dogs, they seem to work out because they did the research and were committed to their needs. You want to talk about lots of fur, then you probably remember that Goldens and Labs are also BIG Shedders!
Leonberger s are also a great dog. Great with chicken, gentle, wonderful therapy dogs. Mine were very calm and quiet, but some are a little more lively. As a senior first time dog owner, they both made wonderful companions.
I may be more of a cat person, but I don't dislike dogs. I love them too actually. If I had to get a first dog, I would have a Labrador. I love Labradors.
I grew up with a Golden Retriever. She was a nice dog. Yet she passed away when I was in high school. Someday, I'll get a dog or two, but I want my own family first. Once I have kids, then I'll get a dog or two.
I am thinking of owning a G Dane soon 🤔 as a 1st time dog owner , I love to run and gym is where I spend 2 to 3 hours would you recommend me as a 1st time dog owner a G Dane ?? I have 2 kids In house 7 and 8 years old ...
Great dane would be great for you if you don't mind giving a couch up. But they can't be overworked for the first year or 2 of their life since they are still growing and can get joint problems later down the line.. also no puppy food. To much protein for them at a early age can give them problems down the line later as well.
Do your research on the breed and the breeder. I never met a Great Dane I didn't like, smart, handsome, majestic, and goofy in an ideal companion sort of way, but they seldom live past eight or nine years age, and vet bills are exponentially higher as the dog size increases. All dogs require a hefty committment to training and socialization, but the giant breeds can be a handful for a first-time owner. You might find one of the retriever breeds listed as a better fit for your family.

German shepherds are not very suitable for inexperienced dog owners.
@@PalashaGabarra
They can be if the owner is committed to the training, socialization and constant stimulation they require.

3rd ❤️ love your videos
Would you say a labrador would also qualify as a guard dog if you want some protection and if you train it?
good video thanks from natural 90 tv
OES is one that is not on my radar normally, but should be for sure.
I Love this video
Never heard of a Bernese Mountain Dog. Gotta love gentle diets.
I dogsat for a berney. They’re the sweetest dogs around, and great for cuddles. Big but not too big. And their coats are GORGEOUS! ❤
Wheres the German Shepherd???
Most places won’t sell you a pure breed without prior dog experience
@@YashKnowsBest this is something new to know
This is for first time owners. GSDs are pretty high maintenance
German shepherds arent big, they are considered medium sized dogs smh.
And a golden retriever is bigger.sure
I think bullmastiffs should be on this list.
I'm not sure if I want the bullmastif, rottweiler, or cane Corso.
@@palastarvii5 I think that should depend on how competent of a dog owner you are. Bullmastiff would be the best choice if you're inexperienced.
Now for First time owners
it s cute
good
san bernard, brittany ?
Always first ❤😊
Nobody cares
@@BugsyTB89 and i dont fucking care if no body cares
The only dogs on this list that are big dogs are the last 2, all the other ones are medium size
I hope its cute
no husky?? :( :(
Very high maintenance dogs
No Great Danes?

Don't take a young Dane running or jogging. Wait for bones/joints to mature.
