The Honolulu Rail Transit System must complete a comprehensive verification, testing, and acceptance program that needs agreement from the FTA and HDOT to obtain Safety Certification prior to opening the system to passengers for revenue service. Dynamic Train Testing and Safety Certification testing is currently taking place on the elevated guideway on Segment 1 between Kualaka‘i (East Kapolei) and Hālawa (Aloha Stadium) stations.
