Watching Xena being unable to tell Solan that she was his mother is gut wrenching. I wasn’t able to comprehend that kind of pain as a child who grew up watching Xena. This whole scene was heartbreaking. Solan has no idea his mother is right there and Xena has to keep such a secret in order to protect him. That kind of love is something I can’t even comprehend because I will never be a mother nor be able to fully understand the kind of pain she carries. I know pain but not this kind.

One of the saddest episodes of Xena: Warrior Princess. That slow motion shot of Xena walking away at 4:35 was powerful, sad and moving.
It's the same walk step-by-step thought by thought feeling by feeling when she had to leave him the first time. What an amazing storyline those two.

I Love Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor's makeup in this episode. This episode of war was one of the best episodes of Xena.. they really outdid themselves when did they did this episode for the second season premiere this episode was so good

The immediate response after he asked if they are friends should have been an immediate hint that they are more and how she pulled him in for a hug, and told him to never forget it, another. I get that this is fiction, but shouldn’t a child such as him immediately suspect like a possible deeper connection after that?

Raven Vargas, she did not when he was alive and I forget what season but it was the 1st musical ep they did, then a few more seasons later different actor they reunited for a short time and he knew she was his mother but like I said he knew before that.

There's a reason behind it unless you're a fucking moron. She's not the mother type. Telling him would have made things complicated. She's a warrior and knew she had things to do beyond being a parent. Also, if he knew he would want her to be around because that's what a son wants. He would feel abandoned if she left again.
@@lynnpabontheelitehero6579 she kept quiet about being his mom because she didn't want him to live with a target on his back from people that would go after him for being her child. It wasn't because she isn't the typical maternal archetype or because he would get in the way of her being a warrior.

Did you mean in Xena? If so you are almost right. Lucy is from New Zealand. And although they made her do an American accent, every once in awhile her New Zealand accent comes out. I love it. They should have just let her keep it on the show. Lucy went through a lot of speech training
