~ Sharktooth, A City Forged in Swamps, Feared by Conquerors, by Cory Nakawatase 🔮 Sharktooth, ancient and weathered, rises from the swamps of the Great River Delta like a forgotten relic of a lost age. Founded thousands of years ago by the Zanu, a people of cunning and resilience, the city was carved from the mire by masters of water and stone. Its coral towers, built from stone and draped in moss and vines. Once an unremarkable settlement far from the sea, the shifting coastline turned Sharktooth into a vital port, where the lifeblood of trade flowed freely between the rivers and the gulf. But trade is not the only currency of Sharktooth; its reputation for the arcane has lured mystics, magicians, and desperate lords from across the world. Here, in the humid shadow of ancient trees and hurricane skies, spells are cast, curses are bought, and legends are born. 🌳⚔ WORLDBUILDING SUBMISSIONS: We now accept submissions from Writers, DnD players, Roleplayers, DMs, Authors, Game developers, and any other World Builders! As usual, you deliver an epic piece of inspiring music. The resonance of adventure, mystery & magic, drama & danger is tangibly felt. The music makes me wish I could explore Sharktooth and it's people. It evokes so many emotions on so many levels. It has the heart of primitive beauty, an age-old heritage, and a blending of tropical forest and Asian culture. Thank you for all your hard work and artistic expresssion!
@@KNYHT.FIRE-1 while I do like to think that Sharktooth has Asian vibes, my greatest inspiration has gotta be the Mississippi River Delta and lower Louisiana, as well as the Native Mississippian cultural complex
For many years I'm a martial arts practitioner so when I see this picture in combination with the music I see myself practicing Muay Boran the original Muay Thai and ready to protect the temple and people from any conquerer....thank you for this great music so I cane dream and imagine another adventure...❤
Miguel! Great to hear you’re a Muay Thai practitioner! 💪🏼 I practiced for a while as well and miss it! Glad you liked this video too, thank you for all the support! 🌿🙏🏻
With every piece you release, the quality and depth of your music increases. Each time I think "Oh, this one is the best!" And this one is exquisite. I've listened to it all day, and am playing it again while I work. Thank you!
Thank you, that means a lot. 🙏🏻 I do try to do at least one thing different in each video, learn and get better. I’m glad that you’re enjoying the new video. And I’m so thankful to you for the constant support! So thank you! 🌿
The part that i loved the most were the sounds of nature in combination with the almost ethereal melodies which flowed underneath. Sooo soothing! 😴 The cinematic/dramatic tones were so professional that i woundered again, if you work for movies? If not, i think they would be happy to have you in their team. What's also interesting is, that i searched for something like this yesterday and found it on your channel today. I love your music ❤❤❤ This really calmed me down. P.s. I scrolled a little bit and saw that some of your pieces have millions or 500k views! I'm so happy for you, that you reached it!
Thank you Mystic! Glad you liked this one, it’s a little different to some of the other music. Thank you for the kind words, and I do write music for TV and film as well. Yep, some of our videos have got quite a few views now, but it’s only because of subscribers like you, so thank you! 🙏🏻🌿
Aaaaaaa thank you dude!! It's so awesome hearing part of my world in audio form! Bless you dude! 🙏🙏🙏 And uhhh, if anyone wants to know more about my world, feel free to ask!
Is this a tale that transpires throughout time, a sort of anthology? Or is it current with episodes of backstory interspersed throughout the tale? Are these people human? Alien? A hybrid of the two? Travelers from a different dimension? What is the theme of your story and it's basis? Will this be a novel? Short story? A D&D campaign? Or other?
@KNYHT.FIRE-1 the short rundown is, that this whole *continent* that this takes place on is both a part of our Earth but also not. It's some quantum physics bullshit. Humans inhabit this continent, but they're kind of different. Mostly different in the fact that they have a much wider array of hair and eye colors. Generally you can tell what ethnicity someone is by looking at their hair, eye, and skin color. *Mostly* anyway, it's lead to some people to *lie* about their ethnicity in order to have a better quality of life. As for your first question, the latest the timeline goes is the real life year of 1999 (when I was born!). However, I've really only fleshed out the ancient and "medieval" eras. Mostly cuz of laziness yes but also, fucking post industrial history is complicated as hell man. It also doesn't help that I don't have a lot of set "countries",, mostly jus general people groups (sort of like in the real world with the germanics, the romance speakers, etc). I'm a perfectionist who wants an actual linguistic evolution for *every* language throughout the continent. Lastly, I haven't really decided what I want to do with it. Most likely short stories and the like but. I've also considered some kind of tabletop campaign that allows you to fill the shoes of a group of anthropologists and historians navigating the complex web of inter-ethic conflicts.
You’re very welcome, my dude! I really loved your Sharktooth world, it’s really thought out. And it’s great to have you here geeking out on world building with James. That’s the community’s I’d like to start fostering here! So thank you for all your efforts! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🌿
For YOU...the person who is reading this comment I wish you a lifetime of happiness, laughter, love, and prosperity! All is well! The Universe is providing! You are safe in this benevolent Universe!
Given it's proximity to the Gulf, yes there would absolutely be sharks in this river. Mostly bull sharks. But you'd also get other aquatic creatures like the rare Great River dolphin that swims up and down it's many tributaries. A long long time ago this area used to have some of the largest fresh water fish in the continent, but being in a highly urbanized and settled area means that they went extinct (at least within the greater delta region)
