    My tips. #1 A single homelink bridge will work for multiple vehicles and 2 different doors. No need to buy more than one of these. #2 after programming my homelink in my car to the bridge transmitter code I had zero luck getting the door to learn the car's homelink signal using the learn button on my wall mounted push button. I instead had success using the yellow learn button under the lamp cover on the opener. Just a quick push and the light next to the button comes on. Then you push your assigned homelink button in vehicle within 30 seconds wait for the light to cycle fully before letting go. Then test and it should work. #3 you don't have to move the bridge from one opener to the other to get it as close as possible in order to program the second door it has plenty of range to reach door to door. I just set this up in my 2017 M240IX and was able to open my doors from a few houses down my street like a normal opener would. Good luck. Chamberlain's instruction writers should be fired and denied unemployment. LOL

      What if I have an automated gate in the front of the house and garage doors in the back? And the house is over 5,000 square feet? Will 1 work?

      My garage door openers are 20 feet in the air, a little bit annoying getting to the button. That's why I did it off the controller for learning mode.

    That's a cool Homelink wall plug in. I use my center remote button too in the G. It sure feels good when things work after an installation. If not for this video i wouldn't know they made this. You mentioned "cash grab" I do speculate why did they fix something that's not broken. 🤔 or.. did they "break" it so YOU need to buy this

      In the article I show in the video they talk about the old Homelink interfering with airplane frequencies. I couldn't find any articles to support that claim though. Frequency formats change all the time and the new opener having a different security protocol alone is enough to justify the change.

    • @BoOmBaMan
      @BoOmBaMan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AnthonyJ350True! for security-related updates to the frequency is logical. I see the same changes made with Bluetooth connectivity on TVs. Old devices can no longer communicate properly unless you upgrade with something better.

    Putting this here to help others in 2023+.
    I have a 2010 Land Rover and a 2013 Elantra. I installed a new Chamberlain side mounted garage door opener in 2020 and had to buy the Homelink Repeater to get the vehicle’s Homelink to work with the new garage door opener. It worked great.
    Then we moved in 2023. I brought my Homelink Repeater with me to the new house and installed a new side mounted garage. I setup my existing Homelink Repeater and no dice.
    I called Homelink and they said due to a lawsuit by Genie that Chamberlain lost they had to change the algorithm they were using in their new garage door openers in 2022.
    Any existing Homelink Repeaters do not support this new 2022+ algorithm.
    Homelink released a new version of their Homelink Repeater in 2022 that supports 2022+ garage door openers from Chamberlain.
    This new unit has a model number of RPTRMC. The “MC” suffix indicates this new version.
    I threw out my old version and purchased this new one and it worked perfectly first try.
    I hope that helps at least one other person from losing their mind. :)

      That's really good to know. I actually had a similar issue when our gate got installed. I purchased a new repeater and it worked.
      I called Lift Master and chatted with tech support, they didn't even know this. I'll have to make a follow up video. Thank you!

  • @stealthg35infiniti94

    Every time I get a new car, I have to do the Home Link nightmare. Having the Fob makes programming a lot easier. For Maximum range, the antenna wire should be in a vertical position not bent or curled up. Heat Shrink over the antenna will stiffen it up so it stays nice and vertical. My range is over 200 Ft.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup that's why I clamped it. I had no room under it so I had to make a turn and then go vertical.

    • @stealthg35infiniti94
      @stealthg35infiniti94 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AnthonyJ350 Any time you bend it, you're losing range. If you have sufficient range bent, don't worry about it. Go for Fashion over Function.

      @@stealthg35infiniti94 Weird because when we tune wire antennas at work they need bunny ears or bends sometimes. And we use a $10K tool to tune and verify.

      @@AnthonyJ350 Not all antennas work the same. Some are omnidirectional, some are directional, some work on plane principal. Wire antennas are cut to a fraction of the wavelength they intend to broadcast. Ideally they should be fully extended without bends for Maximum broadcast efficiency.

    I have a Liftmaster 2008 manufacture date with the purple program button and a 2018 Audi S4 with side assist ....have to pull the 5amp fuse for side assist from trunk fuse box then program homelink with door opener procedure for all garage doors then replace the fuse.
