  • Sticking out a small yagi above the roof makes the difference.

The dipole must be aligned with the other elements of the antenna

What do you mean by that?
All elements (including the dipole) are aligned with their centre on the boom. Spacing is not the same, that is defined by the design.

@@chrix2381 All antenna elements must be one after the other. at same level

Thank you for the additional explanation.
Within a certain limit this should indeed be the case, mostly because it influence the distance between the driven element and the reflector, also between the driven element and the first director. However, in this case the difference is so little that it has no influence in performance.
Many (commercial) yagi antenna’s do have some mechanical construction that is different for the dipole then for the other elements. Sometimes opposite to what I did: all elements through the boom and the dipole ON the boom.
In a future video I will show some simulation with changes of the dipole with respect to the plane level of all other elements.
Thank you for bringing up this issue!

    Don't use hot glue.
Over time it softens and peels off.
A screw with a nut that crosses is better

Personally, I have had good experiences with hot glue. However, I have never used it unprotected outdoors and therefore have no experience of whether it will weather. When applying hot glue, you should always be taken care that the surface to be glued has also become hot, so no hot glue on a cold surface. And degreasing or sandpaper the object will of course do no harm :-)
The glued PVC pipe will harden in UV light and the question is what will break first. However, the antenna and construction shown are for temporary use and can therefore be assessed for strength each time.
Are others who have had negative experiences with hot glue?

@@chrix2381 I share my experience with you.
In the open air, hot glue fills with fungus and loses adhesion.
The problem is that the antenna can fall off. In Europe the heat is already strong and it is not good for that glue.
