    I love hearing railroad history. Glad Witold is staying cool, I'm watching from Rhode Island. We've been in a heat wave the past 3 days including today. Supposed to have thunderstorms later and it will cool off after that. Have a good weekend!

    Always interesting, I loved the history of this section given at the beginning! One thing: I noticed the image @10:30 was reversed. The numbers on the locomotive gave it away, but when I first saw it I was confused ... until the image pulled back and you were shooting in the mirror. Had me going there... 🙂

    Today it will be in the low 70s in Milwaukee with low humidity so a good day to be Trackside. Thanks for the quick drive along the tracks to get our fix of Street running. Unless it wouldn't release it sure sounded like someone left the emergency brakes on while pushing the TBOX car. Even Witold couldn't sleep through that

    • @jimdep6542
      @jimdep6542 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same here. I feel badly for the guy's family and friends. I don't quite understand how he didn't hear the horn from the train that hit him.

    • @lisabishop6266
      @lisabishop6266 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jimdep6542 it's not just that he didn't hear it though. If he was taking pics like I heard, he KNEW the train was coming! Even if he was deaf, you can feel the shake of even just an engine going down Schuyler St. I don't get it. I hope it wasn't an intentional thing, cause you know the crew got shook up badly! You just can't stop them like a car,truck or even a bus. I pray for them all!

    • @jimdep6542
      @jimdep6542 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@lisabishop6266 I agree.....but I don't think it was intentional. He might have been tempting fate by hanging in there long enough to get the video or still shot he was hoping for. Obviously not worth the risk. I don't get it either. I always feel badly for the train crews too, who have to live with the memory. There's nothing else they could have done. Prays to the families for God's comfort.

    • @railroadingrambler218
      @railroadingrambler218  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It varies but they’re usually out of the yard and on Schuyler Street between 9-10:30. The return trip can occur anytime between early to late afternoon depending on whether they make the 46 mile round-trip to Sangerfield.

      Well, they usually only switch the brewery once or twice per week. There’s no set schedule that I’m aware of. However, usually they do head out of the yard between 9:00-10:30 M-F

      @railroadingrambler218 Yes very sad. Very dangerous to be on tracks. As big as they are, when these machines are moving, one second they are not there, the next second they are in your face. I saw some girls laying on tracks by platform taking pictures once. The station guard had to tell them to get off the tracks.

    That was a great history lesson. During a slow work season with Con-Rail I was employed by the NYS&W based at Little Ferry, NJ. Walter Rich was rehabilitating the rail through Smoke Rise and Sparta, NJ. I worked with two carriers until I transferred my rights to NJ Transit. Several others followed me over as well. I enjoy your coverage of the northern end.😎🚆✝
