My CD of EPIC NARRATIVES is starting to wear out already! This is the 6th MV from the album, as they released 5 more over the past 4 months - SHAMBLES, PROTECT YOU, BESTIE, MEMORABLE and SHOW THEM (with The Warning). They are, obviously, all excellent and MEMORABLE is gorgeous.
@@dejzmi7089 I can't see them releasing any more MV's from the album when this is the 6th MV already and there's only 14 songs on the album. On the bright side, I don't think you've reacted to any of them so you have 5 to be going on with!
Barks interview on Forbidden Tale KANAMI: Actually, SAIKI had been telling me for a while that she wanted a song with a lot of development. And when I was making this song, I happened to have experienced the death of someone close to me, so I was thinking about things like "What is life?" and "What does it mean to live?" So I thought I'd like to try to express things like "What is a person's life?" and "Life has ups and downs" through music. Even though there are ups and downs and many changes, there should be a core that never changes, so I expressed that in the riff... I'm kind of embarrassed to say this myself SAIKI: Don't be embarrassed! (laughs) Miku Kobato: That's cool! Barks: So in other words, the riff is like a fixed point, and it feels like it's watching over the changes in life, right? KANAMI: That's right! SAIKI: This is a song that I thought was very wonderful from the first time I heard it. I got a lot of images when I listened to it. This is exactly the kind of song I wanted. Barks: The lyrics of this song were written by SAIKI. It's a little different from "life has ups and downs," but it seems to express a view of life. What did you want to express here? Saiki: Every day, I realize how wonderful music is, and while I was researching the history of music, I learned that there were songs that were forbidden to sing long ago, and stories that were forbidden to tell. But now, with modern technology, we have the chance to restore them and listen to them, and the reality is that we can now read stories that were once forbidden. That made me realize that art is something that never disappears, and I thought that this in itself is very romantic and beautiful. When I thought about what would happen if I expressed life in music, while asking the question "What is life?" that KANAMI asked, I thought that "living" means "we are here now." I wrote this song with the hope that even if our bodies were to disappear, someone might someday pass on this music. I was thinking that it would be nice if our music would remain in the future. I thought it would be wonderful if people in the future who would never know BAND-MAID would find out about us through this song, and if our music could give someone a push. I've experienced something like that myself. There are many musicians who were no longer in this world when I started to like music, right? But their music gave me courage, taught me the greatness of music, and gave me a push, so I wrote these lyrics hoping that I could do that someday. Akane: When I listened to this song, I got a bright future and a positive and beautiful impression, so I didn't want to ruin it by filling it with clutter in terms of the performance. I wanted to make a song that would stick in people's ears and resonate with their hearts, so the drums are unusual for BAND-MAID songs, with the same rhythm repeated. Even though there were changes for each section, there were parts where the drums were focused on highlighting the melody, so that it would fit in the ears. I just had a strong desire to deliver the melody. MISA: I felt that this song had a story and the development was interesting, so I played it while being conscious of making the different characters in each section while keeping it simple. I tried changing the touch of my picking and things like that.

Don’t know how I missed your reaction when it came out but I guess better late to the party than missing it completely. Thanks again for reacting to our favorite band and continuing your journey with them. It’s something you will not regret. Have a good two weeks later.
Great reaction again, EE, thanks! As others have said in the comments, there's an unbelievably high quality of the content to this album, and they saved the best for last. Still a few more on the album that are this good or better that we haven't seen videos for yet.
Fyi....6 songs released on this album already have videos....the songs were released as singles and 2 were on different anime projects.....magie, shambles, bestie, protect you, show them with the warning, and memorable (thk you to usa fans after the 2022 tour)..... 14 songs on the album and the weakest are already out with videos....great album full of bangers
The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Will they managing other bands, boost Cluppo and Maiko projects, or tour more internationally? Or maybe they will expand their business interest to other sectors of the music biz outside of Band-Maid. I believe Kanami wants to get more into composing, scoring and production. And as for Miku and Saiki, the sky's the limit for what they'll want to do in merch, fashion and art, etc.. Thx, Dejzmi!
Band-Maid has a lot of songs that exist in two different versions, like the electric and acoustic versions of Sayonakidori or Catharsis, or Band-Maid's Secret My Lips and Band-Maiko's Secret Maiko Lips. They would make interesting comparison videos.
