I just ordered one of those after market carburetors for $10. I got it to keep on hand. It is amazing what you get at that price. The OEM replacement carburetor assembly is running $80 with nothing else. You may have been joking, but please get rid of those steel bolts and replace with the shear pins. Stripping the yellow gear in your auger gearbox would be a major headache and expense that could be avoided with $3-4 of new shear pins. Replacing the cord in your recoil assembly isn't hard. Replacement Cord and Handle are available at Amazon for about $10. While you had your chute off, it would be a great tine to put some low temp grease or wax where the chute opening rides on top of the ring of the impeller adapter. After eight years the chute started sticking on my machine from scratches in the plastic. I assume you are waiting for warmer temperatures before painting the interior the rusted bucket with POR 15. Summer project video?
Thanks for the comments.. yes, I agree it’s a bargain and has worked flawlessly. I did buy a pack of sheer pins and installed. Cord is replaced as well. I’m planning for some type of rebuild on it this spring. I also have a rider that needs some TLC. Thanks for the comments!
