I really love how the walk cycle looks like it was from Alien Isolation. One of the best horror games in history
No doubt they took inspiration from the Isolation version of the creature (it had humanoid legs in the first film). It's so damn cool.
Also liking the upright tail instead of it being dragged behind like in Alien Isolation.
Sad that IGN gave the worst rating ever tho.
Yes alien isolation is the best alien game and one of the best horror games.
I believe it is the same Walk cycle but slightly tweeked to match this games style. No seriusly Alien Isolation's Xenomorph walked a kilometer with every step tho, not to mention its running...i still get ptsd from hearing those footsteps rapidly closing in to you location.

Gives me Darth Vader vibes tbh, if Vader were to hypothetically be a new Killer (which tbh wouldn't be that far fetched with how he has recently been portrayed in the new Star Wars stuff) this is how he would also carry someone to a hook, either physically like Xeno here or just with a Force Grip

i like the fact that other killers' locker grab animation is them stabbing the back of the locker's wall with their weapon when alien's is just outright stabbing the survivor

I noticed Alien adjusting his hands and legs in runner mode when on other surfaces. Could you maybe explore that a little more? Who knows, maybe on wall corners he walks sideways?

Oh man I'm getting AVP 2010 flashbacks dude! Looks like they pretty much found a way to balance literally everything from behavior, design, and gameplay! Being able to switch from crawling to walking is definitely the best feature. Though its already disorienting im the tunnels i wonder how difficult it would be to climb on walls!

The animation team did so well with the alien. And the Mori love it
In all honesty I love all of the animations, but I really wish that the pallet break and generator damaging animations had a little bit more kick to them. I'd much rather see the hands actually hitting the pallet/generator with force behind it, sort of similar to the way Oni in blood fury is so aggressive.
Yeah, those animations feel more like the Alien is caressing them. They don't have any strength or impact on collision.
Also I would like to say. That part with the tail. On the last attack would it be better if instead the player just gets snatched up? That would be hilarious. Its already in bleed out state. The next hit would just be a hit plus grab in one animation

the only animation i have a problem with is the tunnel exit animation. the alien phases through the hill above the tunnel and it looks rlly weird

Freaking love Xenomorphs, man! It's amazing how when i was a kid i used to be shit scared of them and now my shelves are filled with Xenomorph figures.
This is actually amazing animation given the limits they have to work with for their game. I don't even play DBD but I'm excited that this is a thing 😊😊

Wanna know something that sets the Xenomorph apart from most other killers in the game? Or even The Entity itself?
Most of the killers here, both original and guest, are veritable 1 man armies…. BUT few of them are ultimately capable of any REAL mass destruction before they’d eventually be defeated (By the march of time, or the opposition of any of their many enemies, or any manner of unfortunate circumstances, or other things…)
_But if you leave even a single Xenomorph alone for too long, it could easily evolve into a queen and start laying eggs by the hundreds a day. Combine that with their other reproductive habits and their all-but-omnicidal hatred of all other life… You suddenly realize that _*_every single Xenomorph in existence is a potential planet killer in it’s own right, and even a threat to the ENTIRE UNIVERSE as long as a way to escape off-world exists._*
_The Xenomorph’s, at least as a species, should have racked up a larger body count than THE ENTITY ITSELF, THE SURVIVORS, AND ALL THE OTHER KILLERS IN THE GAME COMBINED._
I like to imagine the Entity looking at the Xenomorph and going “y’know, I think I might have taken this a bit too far.”
Pinhead can also make his own psuedo Cenobites, so arguably he could challenge her army. Although knowing him, I think he'd rather befriend her.

If you watch Aliens (Alien 2) there is a lot of fighting against multiple Xenos and they scream like that aswell when hit by the flamethrower, love this detail

One animation detail I loved was the xeno tossing the survivor to one side when dropping them, not even looking at them.
“Runner mode” details are amazing, like how it rests on surfaces, two animations for tail attack, the noise when it enters runner mode and burning it, I just wish it became faster as it’s only change really is the slightly shorter terror radius and tail attack, and I also have a peeve that the tail doesn’t move much while walking, would prefer it to be like holding nemesis’ whip, so it moves around a bit

Wow, this video is amazing! I love how the Xenomorph looks and moves in Dead by Daylight. The animations are so smooth and realistic, and the sound effects are terrifying. The Xenomorph is one of my favorite movie monsters, and I'm so glad it's finally in the game. I can't wait to play as it and hunt down some Survivors. I would change the hooks into sticky walls with a face hugger egg next to them. Instead of pulling away from the hook, the struggle is preventing the face hugger from wrapping completely around the face.
Imagine if they add a kill animation where you take a survivor to the hive or the queen

@blockd1162 nope, but ik a lot of Moris that would have looked cool but DBD didn't animate them, like the Reverse Bear Trap, normally it rips open your jaw but in Dbd its just a blood splatter and the thing opens

It's a very cool terror, nice attack animations but it would of been nice to see some sort of attack with the tail
They should add when the xenomorph or any of the killers have to hit a door that’s lock they should how you have to hit twice

There could only be one mori and they did it well.
the death animation on the hook could be a facehugger impregnating the survivor
2 things: they should have included ducts on the new map and they should have allowed the creature to ascend floors through the drops, not just by stairs.
Some of these killers have so much more potential. They give sick skills to some killers like the Dredge but give these movie characters basic abilities that aren't worth the cost to buy the dlc.

One thing I'm liking is the tail standing up. Annoyed me how the tail of the Xeno dragged all the time in Alien Isolation, and also that it was WAY too long IMO.

The only thing I don't like is how the xeno shakes its head while walking in tail mode.
Would be interesting to compare this model's animation with Alien Isolation's model and Mortal Kombat X's Xeno model, to see which one has the better animations.
I'm certain MKX have a much better character model and not to mention animations. Behavior and the DBD isn't exactly a triple A studio with a triple A budget not to mention MKX is a fighting game which means virtually every single frame of animation for each different character is incredibly detailed to ensure a silky smooth transition for every action said character does onscreen.
Also the the Alien 3D skeletal model in DBD looks to be a recycled from the Demigorgon from DBD Stranger Things chapter.

It's still the test build. Skin are probably (not confirmed) to come to live servers during the oficial release.
Its the PTB, so the only skin that the Alien has is the p6 bloody one, but that barely makes a difference.
