This film is based on Richard Avedon, this is what he had to say about Audrey: "I am, and forever will be, devastated by the gift of Audrey Hepburn before my camera. I cannot lift her to greater heights. She is already there. I can only record. I cannot interpret her. There is no going further than who she is. She has achieved in herself her ultimate portrait."
My fav is definitely Breakfast at Tiffany's, but I adore them all! The most amazing thing about this movie is that you get both Audrey and Fred Astaire in one package. The only thing better than that is Kelly and Sinatra together!
The saddest thing isnt that the movies have dramatically changed for the wThe saddest thing is knowing that even if they were to come back, people wouldn't accept it
"If you can cook the way you look I'd swim the ocean wide" I don't think a 58 year old man would have have the same success picking up a twenty-something girl with that line today LOL.
"when i'm done with you, you'll look like...what do you call beautiful?" [i was thinking audrey hepburn, of course, she's lovely] "a tree. you'll look like a tree" :)
How can Audrey play in movies with men so much older than her like Fred Astaire and Humphrey Bogart, and the romance can still seem genuine and not creepy at all.
in response to the age difference...when i was a young fellow, age 17, in england and we listened to ella fitzgerald i said i would like to marry her. why, i was asked, and i said just to have her nearby to hear her singing. forget age, romance does. young dancers now watch and adore his dance routines. he was elegant, smart and really loved women. all women with no respect for age. when you have great artists they can't help being young forever. my uncles tried to copy his dance steps and would compete in the 1930'' s as a source of money to pay necessities. i know that audrey, though a child, had lived a long life which included the nazi war and that really aged people, if they were lucky, since it also killed 20 million people, a large segment of those alive at the time. his image and steps grace the nyc ballet in a special performance which all audiences love. that is, now 2015 so i guess we still, some of us, consider him fresh.
xD That's the point. Besides, the movie wasn't designed for her. Are you really going to find a Hollywood actress who has a funny face in that period of time? It doesn't matter, it's still an amazing film.
@Cance251 you should express your ideas more clearly. I laughed on this misunderstanding :D I'm sure Audrey Hepburn is the most perfect human being who ever lived.

She probably though, "Wow I get to sing and dance with Fred Astair!" And he probably thought... "WOW, Audrey Hepburn in a movie with me!"
That is the best thing anyone could say about wonderful Audrey.
She was a brilliant beauty - there are few who can fill her shoes in this generation.
