16:55 I was sitting next to Neversink, and he was playing Sorceress, using Spark, Flame Wall, and Orb of Storms to kill the boss. It was really difficult with that playstyle to consistently dodge the anvil, so he was stuck on the boss for 15-20 minutes, until I convinced him to go grab the Crossbow I was using to trivialize the fight. Then, once he did finally kill it, a bug prevented him from going to the next area, so he rerolled. I got further, but didn't make it to the final Act 1 boss.
(Jonathan politely asked that we not show footage of using a bugged Crossbow to trivialize boss fights. He let me keep in the 360 no-scope finishing blow, though!)
Jousis a legends, without you we would not have stable servers and consistent bug fixes.
Such a different game than POE 1, which I think is great. It has the essence, but gives us two distinct games to play.
Completely agree, why should they make the same game? It should be different, that’s why they’re keeping poe1 around.
@@ShinPG Why would we get away from the thing that made us popular in the first place, people don't play ARPG's for slow ass gameplay, they want fast-based grindy game, player charts will show you.

Random and unimportant but: I love the map art
I was thinking the same thing, and I actually think it IS important. Attention to detail like that adds up for the overall experience.
Some people on the GGG team probably put a LOT of time into getting that map to both look good and work correctly; it’s really cool to see a map that looks that nice and detailed in a game with procedurally generated levels.
All the art is so much better. So many UX upgrades.
yeah ..unimportant

I love the art design that GGG has brought to both PoE and PoE 2. Has a great feel.
I cannot wait to play this!
this looks very very promising
Same. Ive only ever played one league of poe1, but i enjoyed it and will definitely be buying poe2 on release
@@slowlearner46You dont need to buy PoE2, it will be free to play, just like PoE1!
That's if it isn't free like Poe 1 but I'm definitely playing this Elden ring and Poe are some of my favourite games a baby of those two are a dream come true
@@Son1cdragon123 POE 2 will be free to play same model as POE 1
Thanks for this showcase. Definitely excited to give it a try!
Very dark soulish. Lots of emphasis on movement now. I dig it!
Exactly. With this and no rest for the wicked we re getting high quality souls like isometric games with heavy RPG involvement. So glad that this type of genre is getting out there. I was wishing for it ever since 2010
@@Chef8898 Dude, I pitched that game to a friend 10 years ago^^
There is nothing like Dark Souls. Absolutely nothing.
The zone and monster health resetting upon character death is a must, imo. The "cheesing it" through a boss fight method is just a cheat in PoE1. I am glad that PoE2 is addressing the issue. Also, the visuals in PoE2 are absolutely top tier! I noticed the very organic way in which the character's bodies actually shifted during attacks, rolls, movement... Those are the little subliminal things that get you addicted and immersed.
this ranger gameplay has rallied my confidence in poe2, this looks great
bosses resetting to full health after death has to be one of the best changes ever.
I like the fact that you cannot just portal or exit the game to avoid dying and come back in without a penalty. Especially in HC as it will give it an even higher level of challenge.
I disagree. I am a proud 6 portal player.
@@the445566 I don't see how I could ever beat Maven if her health was resetting every time I die.
@@geekette1 Will be interesting on how they adjust the pinnacle bosses with this change, as it really does change the difficulty.
as long as they remove bosses having energy shield im fine with it.
for those who dont know, they added energy shield to bosses in PoE1 to prevent people from being able to brute force bosses that they shouldnt be fighting in the campaign. bit of a weird niche kinda pointless change but sure whatever.
but with the fact that bosses reset in poe2 there is no point to give them energy shield.
I'm shaking to play this game, what a great footage to show us, holy this is amazing, if the game keeps the pacing like this it's going to consume me, also the bosses, enemies, the fights, everything looks cool, engaging and unique, this is so good and clearly GGG takes inspiration from everywhere and compile into a great game, I'm super looking forward to this, mid 2025 honestly, it's sad to wait but hopefully everything is fine and they are not having major problems to delay it, sometimes I feel like this game can be too much work due how much content they have along with POE1 and how quick they do things, anyway, I wish all the best for this game's future
Mostly I'm expecting the delays to come of the continuous adding of new things. Like WASD movement as we'd heard them say, was not an initially thought of idea which would obviously delay adding it in redesigning how skill visuals behave based of different movement types etc.. I feel the same as you, this game could easily become all consuming.
shaking to play a game lmfao

The animation of the bosses (even mobs) in the game are top notch
If it’s that hard for ranged classes imagine a melee one…
Yo what's up man?
Yeah I was kinda unwilling to be playing with WASD when it came to D4, and I decided to give it an honest shot with a rogue and it feels so good to play with. You make much more precise movements that's just not possible with click to move, and you can basically always be moving. It's honestly a really good way to play.
tbh I love the intro/character select, no "why do the other exiles not help" well, they're dead, jim. also, puts you in the "dying is common" feel.
I can't wait for the wasd movement for poe, definitely gonna play more again. But I do hope they'll still work a bit more on it. I don't know if it's just a feel thing because I'm only watching instead of using the wasd tech myself atm but the way the characters (ranger/bows builds?) kinda lock on to your mouse cursor with their body/face, everywhere where your cursor is, even while in invetory or gem tab the character in the middle of the screen seems to lock on to your mouse cursor on default and moves with it, to always face it. I don't know if it's a big thing but it looks ans feels clunky when I compare it to something like Hades for example. It plays the same way with wasd there, pretty much, but you can wasd back and forth even make your characters quickly turn around while having your mouse cursor at the same spot on the screen and still face the opposite direction, and all the skill shot abilities go where the cursor is pointed at but your characters is not bound to the cursor, he just quickly turns around to where the cursor is and does the ability. Makes it look and feel much better imo. Looks like you play League or the old poe with your mouse movements, looks more responsive and quick. This right now, looks a bit like a mobile version when the character is so locked on and doesn't move around much with its whole body like hes in a locked skill/attacking animation, like walking sideways while shooting things.. a bit weird. Would love the Hades wasd movement way more for poe 100%
Wasd movement is a weird choice with the 4+ skills gameplay. They want us to use combinations of skills but how are we supposed to activate all of them while also aiming and moving? For one button gameplay its probably better but otherwise I think mouse movement makes more sense.
not sure if you're still taking questions for the Q&A, but here's mine: with the pause allowing us to hover monsters, can we have pips (small round icons that are on or off) for the damage types of each monsters? maybe even like spell/melee/range phys/lightning/cold/fire/chaos, and has an unblockable attack. so when you die a few times, you have an idea what you need to work against.
I am sooo hyped :D
This will be awesome, thanks for the video ziz (:
it's kind of crazy how good all the bosses look. out of all that i have seen, only one was really weak that felt like a POE1 boss (the hyena or wolf pack one). I truly hope they make ubers out of the all the mechanically good ones.
I think counterintuitively, skills that slow might become less used, as it seems the gameplay will involve a lot more kiting, so if the monsters move fast, you can move fast.
also it takes more time to kill monsters but probably around the same time to go around, because it looks like you're moving around while dealing damage a lot more.
if you kill monsters in 5s instead of 0.5 but get to the next pack as you're killing them, instead of walking for 5s the game can be actually faster but look slower because you're interacting more.
Omg I want to see the monk game play. If that's real with the character classes next to the gem cutting menu I'm hyped.
As I've said on another video, the game looks great. Got this for a more slower experience of PoE 1 and still have the first game If I want to zoom for abit.
I wasn't super Into It In the start but It's slowly growing on me as time passes, hoping It turns out great. :)
its cool everyone is really loving the wasd movement and the devs are learning into it with design changes. I just hope all these dodges and added mobility etc still has a purpose in late game.
mmm you mean all the fanboys hyper-positive commenters online? yeah maybe, but reality may differ, especially from what I heard from many seasoned players on discord.
Not many like me are here repeating how bad WASD may be, so the feedbacks you see online are mostly by the people that like it, you don't see the other face of the medal.
Considering that he mobs and boss attacks are the same (dumb or fast one shots), and you have no advantage apart moving while shooting, that could be done with mouse only anyway no need of WASD, which means that every build will be a 2 buttons build because now you must keep an hand on the keyboard all the time, wow, plus the gameplay doesn't change at all, because you don't have any mechanic like parry and the mobs and bosses just spam attacks as well, so no, it will definitely be nothing like Dark Souls meets PoE.
"A boss, The Devourer"
Me: "Okay it's a devourer... No! It's a longer devourer!"
Path of dark souls 2 🎉🎉🎉... I'm ready bring it on
Giving me vampire survivors vibes now you can move and fight. Souls like with the dodge rolls. all while still looking like POE
love the rolls with s
I'm pretty sure at 14:05 you should be going to the Ranger tab and you can use like multi projectile support and such. :) I saw Ben do that.
27:23 "u can actually see a health bar, a bar above my health"😂......thanks for clarifying left a like
i'm sure that once we get access to gems that can be used while moving stationary skills will feel much like channeled skills feel currently
Man i can't wait to play the game it looks so beautiful and fun! Especially appreciate the way the maps looks!
I love the effect of the projectiles going through the fire wall. Setting little lightning bolts on fire just looks great.
this is in poe1 as well, best way to play rolling magma is to shoot it through flame walls :)
@@BigFx It might just be that the particles on the spells in poe2 mesh so much better with the flame wall particle, because I've never noticed it adding flames to the projectile before, but the flaming sparks in this video just look so natural. Or maybe it's because we only really use fire with fire in poe 1, so the particle is just not noticeable?
@@ricodevega109 there is a similar effect that adds bit of flame to the projectile, but yes, poe2 is way prettier in this regard
This game looks amazing. So happy ggg is moving the genre forward again.
I was so focused on the gameplay and then "OMG IT'S A DEVOURER WITH FULL BODY"

YES wasd movement thank you!!!! im very excited.
I love the character select animation
Love it, Ziz said he wanted to keep playing. I haven't yet and I, want to keep playing. LOL.
Ofc i didnt played it, but at least in Act1 they should not be too harsh with the enemies damage and/or player's life.
People new to the game gets out pretty fast if they keep being oneshooted by half the attacks.
I am new to Poe, necropolis will be my second full league and I am falling so in love with this game
I can't wait for poe2. I'm sad it got delayed but hey I have something to look forward to. I think poe2 brings another level of skill you need to bring to the table...I'm gonna die alottttt lol
I'm so keen for this one. I love the big differences to Poe 1. Poe is such a well made game for the ARPG genre and it's hardcore nature is a big piece of that, but it's so complicated and gritty that most people have never truely got to enjoy it.
This will bridge that gap
I freaking love EVERY second of it. I hope they keep the souls like vibes! Slower, less monsters, more brainpower required to kill enemies and bosses, have to actually use multiple skills for synergy to overcome challenges. I really hope they keep building towards that.
it's not souls like vibes, it's diablo vibes...like diablo 1 and diablo 2, no huge waves of mosnter, just scary monster with big damages in very scary settings. jeez i miss diablo.

WASD is going to be the new standard. i love how they've taken inspiration from other genres like shooters and soulslikes and applied them to the traditional ARPG

It looks so good. I want it.
Stoked!
Damn it looks gorgeous. Daaaaaamn can't wait for beta
This is a more like ruthless than the normal POE experience. I like this pace very much.
the bosses look incredible
2:30 - this is what I really don't like in LE (like this game overall) is that every cast of any skill makes your character stop - this looks and feels silly. Great that PoE2 is different here.
Yep, I noticed that even instant abilities (abilities with less than half a second animation) stop your character. So many things stop your character, and it becomes apparent if you wear the boots that place shock on you if you stop moving.
If you do anything except for left click (move), you stop. They really should change that, in my opinion.
@@PiousSlayerThe problem is that Unity really sucks in terms of animation configuration as this requires the mixing of two animations where the lower part of the rig is running and the upper body is doing different animations depending on the skill you are using. But is not impossible to do in Unity and for sure they should address this issue in LastEpoch.
With UnrealEngine this kind of behavior is trivial to make and the same goes with physics-based animations that Unity is lacking when your character is being hit then you can see it as your character is reacting to this hit.
I really found this annoying in LE that whatever you do your character stops moving to just play the animation.
The game feels way easier to learn and way harder to master, which is a great thing
Maybe this is controversial, but I am extremely sad they brought back gold. Something about monsters dropping gold just feels very immersion-breaking, and I’m not sure why they felt the need to add that after POE 1 showing for over 10 years that gold isn’t necessary.
Nah gold is way more convenient for the player
@@bathtoasters582yeah, recently returning to PoE now, taking me a minute to figure out the market, it’s cool there’s no gold, but definitely a bit of a headache if you havnt spent alot of time with it already
Sacred 2 has had mounts since 2008, heck the mounts were tailored to your class. But its cool that POE is getting them nearly 16 years later.
the music is awesome, scary
Looks like Diablo and Dark Souls had a baby. I really wanted an ARPG like this one
Like the atmosphere, feel so d2
Yeah, the visuals are great!
Its Time !!
The Carrion Crone reminded me of the banshee from Discipless 2.
This its just amazing
I'm really looking forward to Necropolis league right now. What's interesting is that your take is quite a bit different than other PoE streamers, especially on the sorceress.
Looks fantastic.
I noticed that the shield guys don't reflect if you hit them from behind, and they seemed to take more damage.
At least you'd see lots of people in town filling up flasks :P
I'm so ready for POE2. I'm glad its different POE is a decade old if it was the same it wouldn't be as appealing and I'm sure they make use of all the things to be learnt from Lost Ark and D4 etc etc
With all of these new bosses, how do you feel about replaying the campaign on every character? Exciting? Or lots of extra work before getting to maps?
This looks so fucking good oh my god
looks great :)
owno that stun bar
Yep. It will be the #1 ARPG by far. Though I doubt it will be out this year, 2025 so for now it doesn't exist to me.
For a moment there I thought you were playing D2, "Maggot Lair" in Act 2 XD
man, I'm genuinely excited to play this game, and that happened last with Doom Eternal
so yeah...
recharges on flasks seem to be a good way to counter going to town to refill potions, which seems like an improvement upon Diablo 2, on paper it sounds cool.
This game is going to set the new standard for the ARPG genre, absolutely love it so far!

that character selection is so badass with everyone else getting hanged wth
Great video. Question about the movement: does your character automatically face to the direction of where ur mouse is?
afaik no
at least according to other channels
@@ArseniyShved yes it does if you play on WASD
@@SimbaXp oh shit u are right. I said a stupid.
I'm glad POE2 will be slower and more thoughtful about it's combat. I genuinly hate how fast alot of ARPG's have become, i'm just not as interested in min/maxing stats over actually engaging with the combat system in a thoughtful manner. But i guess that is exactly what GGG wants 1 game where you run around at Mach 10 and one where you are slower and have to engage more with the combat.
This aswd idea was a genius idea. This souls like, no rest for the weakd is going to be so successful!!!
Bummer this will not be for me I like a more classic arpg feel oh well good luck exiles 😂
Did Poe2 demos from before always have wasd movement? I feel like the last stuff I saw during exilecon still controlled mostly the same?
The roll having s is also shocking. Playing an isometric arpg with dark souls style gameplay actually sounds insane!
Super hyped for Poe2. Just wish we were closer to release.
They said it was a fairly new addition and it made them rethink skills for a lot of the ranged classes to improve the game play for both WASD and Mouse movement.
He said everyone in the office once they tried WASD they didn't go back cause they loved it so much even though they were all very skeptical at first.
The bosses are very very cool
I now get why they decided to make PoE 2 as a completely different game from PoE 1 since it's a totally different game with different mechanics
This is exactly what game develops should be doing, I've been playing point and click ARPGs my whole life. The control scheme / gameplay needs to evolve.
with regards to how large the zones are that you are getting lost, I actually really like that and don't want them to change it at all. I'm a very casual player and when I play I almost always full clear. I also love feeling lost because it gives me a sense of discovery. I love going "i wonder what is over here?"
I get that people want to zoom through the zone, we will have to respectfully disagree with regards to this map design choice in my opinion. Love your content! keep up the good work Ziz!
I kind of agree. Last epoch and diablo have some pretty boring maps where you never ever get lost and it FEELS like youre just playing a video game from the early 2000s... poe2 doesnt invoke that at all. Feels up to date as it should
@@thatepicwizardguy If no other game does it, how does having it feel up to date?
I am not disagreeing mind you.. But things tend to work in a way because it works, or people havent complained about it at least.
Getting lost is a bit of a 2 sided problem. Especially in the genre, people wanna progress a little, and backtracking is just about the worst thing for that, especially when everything is already slower. The exploration side of thing can feel nice, but honestly i only feel that way, when it's actually rewarding to explore. Just to see a random corner of a map i havent seen yet, does not really do it for me
Lets goo!!
Does poison not stack anymore? I see you use it once then swap to lightning arrow?

Ok, this is the game i imagine d3 to be ... the morr i see the more i love it
I don't know, so far i am not that sold yet. I will play it but i really like poe. Right off the bat there is so many restrictions, the map for example its less open, way less items to pick from right off the start, skill gems as well. Let's talk about, can I be ranger summoner if i wanted to? exactly. It just looks like a step backwards instead of forward.
i will play poe2 simply because im new poe player. And i will enjoy new economy more than already made market for last 10 years.
REALLY hope they change going back to town to fill flasks wow. that would be such a hassle, and one less mechanic that you could invest into
Really hoping they delete the energy shield that bosses have, theres no point in having it in PoE2 where if you die, bosses get reset anyway. So the original purpose of giving bosses an energy shield is moot.
Seeing the health bar go green during poison is absolutely epic.
Is that a thing in PoE1? I feel like things happen so fast I never noticed if thats the case. And I've got 1100 hours in PoE1 lol
