- It's time for a hoedown!
Welcome to Next of Ken and in this episode, we're counting down 10 Hysterical Hoedowns From "Whose Line Is It, Anyway?" The hoedown is arguably the best skit on the famous and beloved improv sketch comedy, "Whose Line." You can always be assured of a few things with every hoedown: You can guess Drew Carey will take a break from doing nothing and Ryan Stiles will casually mention how much he despises them. Well Ryan can hate them as much as he wants because we absolutely love them. So here's our favorite hoedowns from the show.
What was your favorite hoedown from "Whose Line?" Let us know in the comments below!

Lol because it’s stolen content
Next of Ken I hated the titling AND intros anyway
Demonetized us?? US??
It takes more than one sweaty guy to stitch together some clips you had no part in making?? How??? Its literally the laziest easiest types of YT-videos...
Moral of the story: Do not diss anyone whose turn is left.
Think it’s tradition to insult the guy on the left. You got to give him a chance to return fire
Don’t diss anyone who’s already been either that’s cheap
Or alternatively, ALWAYS diss Drew for the best results.
@@ufknw0tm8 Don't diss anyone who's already been UNLESS they've already insulted you
Whose Line’s comedic formula: Everyone takes pot shots at Colin and Ryan and Ryan and Colin return fire with heavy artillery.
Or Drew
"Sir, they've thrown a piece of scrunched up paper at us,"
"Hmm... prepare the JagdPanzer,"
Wayne gets it too quite a lot too.
Chip brought some heat
Drew: insults Ryan before his turn
Ryan: So you have chosen death.
No matter what, you can always count on:
- The one behind the desk laughing their ass off
- Some teaming against one person
- Clever insults
- Ryan finishing with a bang
The audience keeps the beat poodly
@@megatennepster3833 as a percussionist since 11 (28 now), hurts me so much...
Laura Hall on the piano
And the look on Colin's face when he is coming for your ass
Ryan pokes fun at Drew Carey.
Everyone: Rap battles are the best they always have sick burns
Whose Line is it Anyways crew: Hold my beer
Oh, aye-dee-di-dee-di-dee-di-dee-diiii-deeee-diiii-deeee-diiiiiii!
Oh please.... they'd be drinking the beer between lines xD
Hold *our beer...
*Water
*hold mg points
Whenever ryan is rhyming with "-arey" you know its gonna end with drew carey
Dont. Fuck. With the Stiles
Wanderer2266 the Stiles send their regards
🎶 gonna end with drew careereyyyyy 🎶
Yessss
For a weird reason I sang that in my head
I like how on the "Ryan's wife" hoedown, Colin was all like "nah bro I got you", and instead of attacking him like the others which would be the easy route, he contrasts and compliments him haha
Dont get me wrong, some of my favorite moments on this show are when they tease and clash eachother, but it's so great because it's in contrast with how well they like eachother normally haha
Agreed
you can tell whos the canadian in that one haha
Ryan also chose to defend Colin (sort of) in the "Bald Head" hoedown. It's funny when they attack each other, but it's also nice to see them be kind
I loved that, it was so cute
The audience can keep a beat like I can keep a steady relationship
Oof
Groups of white people can't clap to a beat to save their lives
@@virginiamooney4105 the audience is first off not just white. Second of all the audience is not thay bad anyway jeez.
When I saw this comment I knew there was going to be a reply about white people 😂😂
@@virginiamooney4105 here comes the racist
Awww, Colin's always ready to stand by his buddy!
But of course he did, anything less would have been downright cruddy! ;D
@@IAmBael That's why I love them so much! 😍
I wish Colin and Ryan could live forever and just make funny ass videos lmfaoo
@@IAmBael nice
I love when Colin stands there for a couple seconds and then smiles because you know that’s the exact moment he comes up with the entire verse. He’s so quick and they’re always bangers. Unreal
That director is Hitler joke had me in stitches! 😂
Its also cause earlier in the episode they did a game and the 2 ppl the audience came up where bill Cosby and Hitler to be roommates in a sitcom. The producer intervened and didn't want to use Hitler so it was a insider during the episode
Well, whatever it was, it had me on the floor crying from laughter
Here is the whole story behind the Hitler Hoedown. th-cam.com/video/aANi6fUV9W8/w-d-xo.html
That was made because the director wouldn't allow Bill Cosby and Hitler uncanny roommates. Instead they did bill and car insurance salesman.
@@Zerpderp0 only it wasn't the director that disallowed it, it was the censor
I love how Colin does the sing/talk thing. He crushes it.
3:40 When the live audience goes off beat... we at home like “Hooowwwww?!”
Piano playing 4/4, audience clapping 9/8. Amazing ineptitude.
Or really amazing talent!
And then they stop to shake Colin's hand, because that burn was savage as fuck.
It's prog. man.
Even my 3 year old can keep the beat
Colin is the Eminem of improv. You take a shot at him he'll rip u a new diddly.
Haha
A new diddly
Nah, he recycles his lines too much. Chip is the one who comes up with something new everytime.
redj saceda not the only one but yeah, chip is the best of them
redj saceda Absolutely not. They all have little tendencies they fall back on but Colin is extremely original and brilliant .
11:52 as much as Drew picks on Ryan you can see here that he is a true bro to him. He took his place and got him outta there when he could see Ryan just couldn't go on any longer. They're all good people
And it was a better verse than the one he did
IM STANDING HERE CUZ HE DIDNT USE PROTECTION
@Stimulator7 yep
Looks like you aren't standing...
@@sniper8579 oof
@@sniper8579 smh rude
That’s the running joke in my family. Momma would say, girl don’t ever joke about a broken condom cause if it hadn’t been for a broken condom you wouldn’t be here.
Hahahahaha hahahahaha 🤣🤣
Happy Independence Day everybody !! 🇺🇸♥️🇺🇸♥️🇺🇸♥️🇺🇸
can't balme ryan for getting sick of doing those
Dalton Riser Yea it’s probably cuz of the song, anyone would get sick of a song played over and over
Any job is repetitive though.
I always loved it when they roasted each other xD
Drew and Brad would team together and Ryan and Colin get them back
@Stimulator7 pleassse link me i dislike aisha in this.
Haha I love how Colin completely abandons the topic at hand to burn Chip.
15:24 , set up for burn; 15:50 , burn executed; super effective!
Lucario007 I love the tone in Colin's voice to. It's like his tone is saying "SUCK IT!"
Targets destroyed.
Shots fired! Damn! That was good!
You can really tell Ryan hated these lol he was always throwing insults at drew and the people working in the show
The director wouldn’t let him make a joke abt hitler that’s why he said that in the hoedown
Sometimes DREW deserved insultes! Cocky mother!
Ryan was on Drew's show after all. You always roast your friends the worst
Ryan’s bit in the dictator hoedown is truly a masterpiece.
Earlier in the show, the director shut down a bit about “Bill Cosby and Hitler”. Ryan clapping back and calling the director Hitler is incredible
Whenever Ryan says hairy or scary, you know whats coming next...
Yep Lou Gehrig... Oh wait Drew Carey
Yes, you guessed it./he’s roasting Drew Carey
whisperingaprayer vai and when Wayne talks about drew, he counters by talking about his wife or mother...
@@MARTalks 🎶He's roasting Drew Carey!🎶
@@MARTalksMe: *reads this in Hoedown tune*
9:03
"Well I knew Collins mother, I must tell the truth.
When she was nursing Collin, her milk was 90 proof.
She wanted to kick the habit, she didn't know what to do.
But if your baby looked like that, you'd be drinking too!"
BigFatX no lie, I came to this comment right as this segment started
Best hoedown in the show, in my personal opinion.
This was the best hoedown of all time.
Don’t attack Colin in this game, because shots will be fired
You can actually see times in the clips where Ryan just says nope and does the kind thing.
Colin owns Irish Drinking Song too, since he goes last. Fear that power.
15:48 Colin got both of them on one line!
@@nicholasfarrell5981 MEOW
The director one is even funnier knowing the director in that episode told they couldn’t make fun of Hitler earlier.
Drew’s “hehehe” is one of my favorite things he does. It’s so silly and cute and always ensures a laugh.
Especially for Drew not being a real big improv guy, his responses to Wayne are actually really impressive.
9:20-9:32
"Yeah, I'll get back at you for that, Chip, I'll just let Drew go first..."
Tbh, I found Colin's retort a bit weak in comparison to Chip's bit. I mean, Colin's witty enough where he can pull a dick joke out of almost any situation, but Chip's was both clever and was tailored to the prompt of the Hoedown. I feel like I ramble whenever I bother commenting on anything. Oops.
@@BBNefarious youre not wrong even though ryan and colin are witty Chips is really good at hoedowns. he didnt just call colin bald he called him ugly which was a double burn XD
The thing I like most is how supportive they are when Ryan has nothing. It's not easy trying to come up with something that fast, and they handled it fairly well.
Insulting Colin is like instigating a wild bear into thinking you are a smoked ham.
Things you can sing to this tune:
- The Gilligan's Island Theme
- Emily Dickinson's poems
- The verses to The Who's "Pinball Wizard"
The ballad meter is a gift that keeps on giving.
I love how Colin has Ryan's back whenever someone tries to roast him.
I love when the clapping was so off beat that it threw Wayne off so he had to assert his authority as the black guy and help them catch it.
Imagine the absolute chaos that would have occurred if he wasn't there. 😆
I love all the hate hurled, especially between Drew and Ryan.
I actually thought that Ryan hated Drew, that's why he'd always go for him.
@@thegameshowguy1 he hated the hoedown since he did it since 80s
I love it when wayne and drew insult ryan and then colin goes and does a really nice one for him. Colin and Ryan are my favourites!!!
Love hearing Ryan sing and then seeing Laura doubled over on the piano as the song ends
That Roseanne joke has aged really well
Kinda? Turns out Tom Arnold was beating the absolute shit out of her.
Drews comeback right back at wayne is his best bit of improv ever. Seriously cool and props to him!
You gotta love how drew had Ryan's back when he couldn't think of anything. Glad you included that
Any cast member: *insults colin*
Colin: so, you have chosen...death
The long pause while everyone was clapping really off-beat was the second-best part.
Colin Mochrie might be the most tone deaf person I've ever seen, but damn can the guy rhyme on the spot
15:30 colin about to bring the hate down in only the way colin can!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Legend has it that when Colin made that clapback verse at Brad and Drew, he won all the points that day.
Drew always sounds like he’s about to bomb, but then the punchlines are killer!
I love watching Wayne Brady react to them, his reactions are hilarious! I never could pick a favorite cast member, they're all so great!
“Mine’s tucked in my sock”
*damn right*
I love how happy drew looks doing all the little dances
3:39
And _THAT'S_ why you *_NEVER_* let the crowd clap lol
That was a joke within itself. That made me laugh harder than all of the jokes combined
White people
They had one job. ONE JOB!!!
The funny part about Drew singing behind Ryan is that he had to stand on the step...and was still shorter.
I love how they still let Ryan finish the hoe downs even after all his bullshit ❤️
Colin and Ryan are too good together, you couldn't have found more compatible people
Mad respect for that pianist for staying strong. I would’ve given up from laughing too hard 😂😅
I like the older version waaaayyyy better than the new version, nowadays they can’t say nearly as much as they could back then...
Ashley Hymes They couldn't do a sketch named "Cosby and Hitler". The censor in the 90's was far more zealous and the channel was part owned by Pat Robertson. Things are far looser now than then.
And that little factoid is the reason for Ryan's line in #8 on the list.
British seasons the best. Drew as host good. Aisha whoever is terrible. New seasons are a shell of what show used to be. Started when they used celebrity guests for one segment walk ins to promote other things instead of actually following the real spirit of the show.
I have two major issues with the newer version. One is that they have WAY too many guests on the show - I tune in to see improv masters make me laugh, not to see some celebrity shill their work in the guise of a game. The second is that Aisha Tyler has the tough job of replacing the charisma and jolliness of Drew Carey; she's a good comedian but just does not fit well as the host of WLIIA. Drew had INSANE chemistry with the cast members - he was the X-factor in why the old show had a ton of charm. The newer show doesn't have a dynamic host that plays off and generates as much energy as Drew did.
The old version of Whose Line was just better. The cast played off of each other more, they could say and do things that would get them fired today. Legend has it Drew went off to count his money
“I still get way more sex then either Brad or Drew.”
FUCKING GOT EM
Can you do some Irish Drinking Songs next? :D
Great video!
Skyantha Bladedancer Hell yes! Or at least Colin's punchlines 🤣
Skyantha Bladedancer meow...
We all know the "MEOW" moment would be number 1 lol
I love how Laura Hall keeps her composure thru these hoedowns lol
I love the look Colin always gives Ryan when they sing the last line, that’s friendship right there!
I'll bet every dislike this gets is from Ryan Stiles.
Ironically, he's the best at these. 😂😂😂
When the audience started clapping out of time I died laughing. Greg trying to help them get on track and Wayne’s look of utter confusion were beautiful (3:38)
The Drew Carey episodes of Whose Line were the best.
The Hoedown with the Best of the 4:
10. Giving Birth (Wayne)
9. Director (Ryan) then (Drew)
8. You're Ugly (Collin)
7. Ryan's Wife (Collin, Drew, & Ryan)
6. Blind Date (Ryan)
5. Drunk Mother (Chip then Collin)
4. Body Odor (Ryan / Drew)
3. Weight (Drew)
2. Going Bald (Collin & Brad)
1. 100th Episode (Drew & Collin)
MEL GIBSON ISNT THE ONLY ONE WITH A LETHAL WEAPON
I love how Ryan just hates hoedown so much, I mean he’s not even subtle about it lol
No one talks about how freaking hilarious Ryan is at 0:10-0:20 😂😂 it’s hands down one of my all time favorite bits ever 😂
Everyone: Take the piss out of Ryan
6.30
Colin: I'm with you, Ryan, dont worry
I love how Colin is the biggest bro with the recovery for Ryan in this one 😂 6:35
*_(Singing)_*
I love to watch this show,
It makes me laugh so much.
I get so involved, it seems that I've lost touch.
All I do is think about hoedowns all the time,
And now it's gotten to the point -
my comments F***ING rhyme!
Comments f***ing rhyyyyyme!
@@RinJackson Yee haw!
12:09 Drew being a true bro to Ryan!
The "director" one is the best , he got a standing ovation for that lasting quite a while ....
Best Hoedowns: Drew roasts Colin with another contestant -> Colin roasts them back -> Ryan roasts Colin or himself
It's amazing how they just come up with this stuff out of nowhere, it is really freaking funny.
Today is when I noticed that I'm losing all my hair
I'm only 22 years, it really isn't fair
It really is depressing, a downright shame, you see
Losing all my hair before my virginity
Rock a bald head!
Ryan is the best at these, even though he hates them but Drew comes out with some sick burns!
9:01 When the burn on Colin is so spicy, even Drew Carey feels the need to take revenge for his friend's hurt pride.
i love it whenever ryan rhymes with “drew carey”
Drew's ability to clap back so quick is unreal
Chip really SHINES on the "Drunk Mother Hoedown"!
Ryan: Damn, I can't think of anything.
Drew: I gotchu fam
Chip is just incredibly good at this game.
Ryan Stiles literally hates Ho Downs. You can see it in his face yet he's the funniest of them all.
The #2 Collin fucking ROASTED Drew and Brad and that last line by Ryan in #1 had me fucking DYING
One of the others: [comes for Colin]
Ryan: I'm about to flay this man alive
Ryan is awesome! He is a Lewis County local celebrity! Grew up in Morton Washington. Helped my alma mater do a local commercial for our town (Toledo Washington). It's pretty cool when you actually run into him during his many visits.
*I love that even after all these years, Collin & Ryan are still the best closers!*
These good sir are what we call ...... LEGENDS
You just gotta love the forever ongoing battle between Ryan and Drew! xD
Colin and Ryan always have each other's back.
The hoedowns just arent as good as the Irish drinking songs. Meow!
Blood in my stool
Meow was the best
that was an absolute classic
These guys are the best! Colin and Ryan should have their own show.
10:17 when you realize that you've messed with the wrong person.
16:55
Weird that Drew said that when years later a character from Friends would actually host Whose Line.
Aisha Tyler was on Friends?
Ahh Hell Yeah some Whose Line Is It Anyway! Love this show
Everyone but Ryan: Lets make fun of Colin
Colin: So you've chosen death
🎶 I like these hoedowns, I think they're really fun. 🎶
🎶 Good wholesome comedy for everyone. 🎶
🎶But remember, while these may bring you smiles, 🎶
🎶They only exist for one reason: to torture Ryan Stiles.🎶
TO TORTURE RYAN STIIIIIIIIIIIIILES
I have waited SO GODDAMN LONG for this. Thank You!
Love seeing Laura Hall's reaction to some of the lines.
Can you do other Whose Line videos just like this but with Irish drinking song and Hollywood Director?
Gotta give props to luara shes a fucking champ to keep playing even when they guys break into tears or fuck up.
