The township of Lismore was built up around the timber industry. Logs used to be flaoted down river to mills where the town now sits. It has ALWAYS been a flood zone. Always will be. It's absolute madness to keep building houses in an area like this.
@@somedumbozzie1539 Gonna' make the CBD float too? Cheaper and easier to relocate. Wont happen though. Council will just mindlessly keep allowing people to build in a proven catastrophic flood zone.
Wasn't as bad in the past though because there was FOREST and TREES and PLANTS where the *loggers* were working- until they essentially cleared it to nothing by putting *farms* in. It needs to be returned to flood plains, with plants, trees and elements that can hold the ground together better. Very few of us in the region want ANY kind of rebuilding of the CBD and flood plain- we want to move it.
A lot of people have lost there lives, lost loved ones, and many of there belongings... My worst thing to lose was me Scooby pillow! (R.i.p Scooby pillow you will be missed)
Maybe it's the Chinese rain bombing the east coast to take our attention away from their transmigration in the south pacific?? Or to buy up east coast real estate as Aussies flee the coast. How about ......???? WW3 using pandemics, environmental warfare or global warming or ....
Is my family the only one who like isn't evacuating? I mean we have power, our road isn't flooded AND our house has internet. And yes I do live in lismore
I live on a hill. The last flood aka the biggest flood in lismore history so far only got to our front yard *meaning that it almost got into my house but it didnt* also after the flood we went under the house to find like 5000 dead earthworms, a destroyed pool system, a destroyed hot water system *we still have hot water* and A FLOATING WASHING MACHINE!
It's so sad that it's happening again so soon after the last one....but I got big laugh at how they pronounced Tumbulgum......I almost peed myself laughing......I grew up on the Tweed so I know how it's pronounced and it's definintely not how the reporter did it...but it did give me a great laugh....thank you so much for this 🤣🤣
The unique 15/01/2022 Tongan Volcanic Eruption ( with Hypersonic Shockwave & Tsunamis ) must have really punched very high into the upper atmosphere to cause such a stalled weather pattern 31 days later affecting the entire East Coast of Australia .. and its apparently still ongoing .
It's pretty obvious that area needs to just be abandoned. You're going to spend millions re building and then it will happen again and again. It's a non inhabitable area.
This is exactly what they want. They will move the city and create a "smart" city. The city will be controlled by the government. This is deliberately allowed by our government....vote them out!
Are Lismore residents again going to demand others once again come to their aid or have they realised instead of whinging and whining. that it's very Australian to quietly come together in strength and determination to rebuild
One has to wonder whether comments I've seen about RAF planes seeding clouds has any validity when one reads a citizens expression saying "You won't like the great reset."
They are shifting jakarta so you can shift Lismore. Must be a nice hilly area nearby? Yes? No? I dunno, im a kiwi, live in an area that has massive floods too, i wish you all the best.

Same applies for all towns built on a river on the east coast of Australia

So we build our homes on a flood plain then wonder why there's water in the living room
yep absolutely idiotic. The area needs to be abandoned.
3:08, look at the background: “You won’t like the great reset” painted behind the road signs
But it has such a nice sounding name.
Yea there is a lot of graffiti in lismore, I would know......because I live there

Can they cloud seed over NZs southern region please?
@@MsAlien911 The can also prevent rain.

How old are u.? "who isn't like evacuating" i have power, I LIVE ON A HILL yeah... Ok, u are lucky. Thousands do not.
It's called Norther Rivers for a reason. Perhaps live on a pontoon or build higher?
Maybe people shouldn’t live in an area that floods frequently 🤔🤔🤔
There's no such thing as rain. No such thing as climate.

Its media spin most of them are.
Thay are coming together to rebuild .. the government reponse at the begiing was poor
Yeah, they'll quietly come together and build new houses in a catastrophic flood zone.
Now that's Australian.

Probably move to Byron yes?
