so many areas becoming more frequently hit with severe weather such as major flooding ,earthquake activity . makes no sense to rebuild in same exact area using same method
By the time flood warnings were issued, access roads were already being cut. People had no escape. The water rose so fast it was basically a flash flood for many
@ 0:07 Seems like the Department of Planning and Environment forgot to PLAN about the ENVIRONMENT. 🤔 I mean, warning systems will never stop the rain from falling, but they do give people a chance to prepare to evacuate if need be..... Just a suggestion. M 🦘🏏😎
it was FAST. warnings would have been of limited help. at 1 am the water was just coming up the street. at 7 am the water was up to my chest on the second floor. the SES got me and my dog out before we drowned. i have a mobile phone and a dog everything else is gone, i am homeless. if i didn't have to take care of my dog i'd kill myself.
How would you know ? Lismore has a flood warning system that failed as it was broken. It also Has pumps in the browns creek car park that are alway broken, it also has drains that are full of rubbish because they haven’t been cleaned out in 20 years. These failures are a result of the local council spending money on “Art”. Instead of maintaining infrastructure as they are required. The lefty councils of the last 10-15 years have contributed to this flood. Where are they now, hiding now ? To busy padding their own nests and whinging about the ENVIRONMENT

I used to live in Lismore and I'm Glad I moved to Brisbane before the flood
What's the real fatality rate?
Yes, that’s the real question.

It's just government slackness, most of the politicians are out of their depth

There are warning systems in place, they were just broken like everything else in regional Australia, ignored by left governments of every level
