Been there last year and when I went to take a piss I noticed a little with huge leaves. After further inspection I saw that all leaves were somewhat deformed. Little did I know I was in the most radioactive place in germany ^^
Glad you enjoyed it! Regarding the health situation, the radiation there isn’t anything to worry about. It’s also important to mention that it is located in just few hot spots, not entire city. I visited Oranienburg at least 5 times now and it’s an absolutely lovely city with great community. I would be more than happy to live there
@@allRadioactive I was really wondering about any of the decay products leaking into basements. Over here (Canada) we have a problem in some areas with Radon in basements apparently originating from Uranium in the soil. There are plenty of fairly easy mitigation methods to deal with that. It struck me that Oranienburg could have a man-made cause of similar issue. I wasn't meaning to cast any sort of negative vibe on Oranienburg - apologies if it sounded like that!
@ I made a video about radon gas just recently, I think you might like it! Thorium is a natural radioactive element but it’s not normally found in oranienburg area. The amount of contamination there is not anything that could be of harm unless you straight up eat the contaminated soil or something like that. I’d go as far as to say that living in berlin (just a short drive from oranienburg) is more hazardous due to the bad air quality in the big city from pollution. You can also have a look at raysid.com/map and see how there contamination in oranienburg looks like

So that's why Dora is mad.
That explains a lot.
Interesting bit of history! Any idea if there are is any statistical significant increase in health issues in Oranienburg?

Could you post a link to where you got that small gamma spectroscopy probe you have?
I made a dedicated video on it but here it is:
