That it was haha. Annoying at times, but it's good see that many people enjoying being outside. The hardest part of crowds is finding a spot to relieve yourself...
@OkieFish my son and i went fishing under the spillway Saturday. 7 or 8 rainbows and a brown. and a bunch of chubs. they are amazing pike bait! we used rooster tails and panther martins. the "fly guys" looked like they were striking out....
Tell me about it😂 even in the fall and winter I caught a lot of those annoying little chubs but I caught my fair share of rainbow trout and 1 tiny brown once. It's definitely a much busier river than I prefer but it's the closest trout fishing opportunity to the dfw area. I notice they have good sized planters in there but also a lot of baby trout that I think might be wild? Or maybe released before their fins get worn down and nubby. I've also seen a few golden rainbows in there but failed to catch them although I did come close
@@bssaassin1900 The Lower Mountain Fork Foundation releases lots of "fingerlings". The river does have stream born fish though. I went last Thursday the 22nd and had a wonderful time even though I ran off and left my fly box sitting on the tying bench. Plenty of nice 6"-10" browns landed.
Live local to beavers bend. Used to love to fly fish up there, unfortunately, the last time I went every time I would set up tourists would come floating through the middle of my set.
It’s tough to witness. My extended family and I have been going around Thanksgiving most of my life. It sure has changed a lot over the years. Weekdays and crappy weather seems to be the best bet.
Any recommendations on how to fish this? I’m from Wisconsin but am headed there for the weekend. Looking to get into some trout and try to enjoy. Let me know how I can chat with ya
That is a creek chub. Hilarious seeing Weston on there. You guys are making some great videos. Incredible production value, and I'm really enjoying seeing our local water on the tube.
Yeah we wish we could get Wes on the channel more often…We are filming with him tomorrow targeting some white bass. Appreciate the kind words and glad to have ya! Go out with us sometime!
Absolutely. Kade and Bobby went back a couple of weeks after this video and caught some really nice fish! There’s some really nice size browns. We’ll do another video later this year targeting some bigger fish over there.
Looks like the crowd hatch was in full swing 😉

@@Sageofthe16 Hard to beat a rooster tail! haha. Sounds like an awesome day.
I was in some of those same spots the 24th and 25th.Glad y'all had a good time. Wait until summer, those chubs won't leave you alone.
In those spots you can find some places/runs unlike anything else in Oklahoma. It was a blast! Those chubs are cool fish.

ive been wanting to hit beavers bend this summer but havent got down there yet
I haven’t been this summer yet either! Let me know how it is if you make it.
I think that was a little chub of so kind. I have landed a few of them at beaver's bend.
It’s a gorgeous fish. Appreciate the response!
I agree with river chub.
I fished here today and had absolutely no luck. Any advice on how to fish this on the fly and be more successful?
Shoot me an email and I might be able to help out a bit! Windyfishguy@gmail.com

I never knew Oklahoma had actual trout fishing. I thought it was stickers. Thanks for sharing.

Been up there the past few weekends!! The biggins are eating at the evening hole! I’m fixing to have a video drop if you wanna check it out.
Bobby has been up there catching some really good sized fish in the last couple of weeks. Definitely going to check out your video!
Does anything bigger swim in that river? Catching nothing but bait hustlers and minnows. But it did look fun and that's all that really counts.
