    Taking nothing away from Kirsten's amazing achievement, we all know that Simon is the real 'winner'. I mean, the fact that he stopped for a whole week, sailed a couple of thousand nautical miles away from the course, and still came in the first boat, is quite simply stunning!

      Total agreement

      No, sailing is sailing and the race rules are the race rules. Kirsten is the real winner. That statement takes nothing away from Simon’s accomplishments or his sailing abilities.

      @@jonathanlewis1352I agree, it is part of the race to prepare the boat so that you do not need to stop. This having said, Simon performed extraordinarily well!

    Excellent interview. So informative! The technical details are extremely interesting to me. Additionally, I'm intrigued with the differences in approach to some things by the participants, both in terms of preparing the boat for the race, but also in the mental challenges before and during, and hearing them discuss that. The permutations of human behavior are endless, but also endlessly interesting. What a test the GGR is! Slightly paraphrasing, "You won't get any of that emotional stuff from me".

    Simon you arrived here in Kingston Beach and made me ask the question what’s that yacht doing thinking a second local film. But no I learnt about the GGR. To end up first in to France was beyond amazing well done and Congratulations for persisting like Abhilash.

    Loved the interview but please please spend more camera time on the boat bits the person is talking about than on the face of the person. I’ve noticed this on all your videos showing the boats. Thanks for all you’re all doing. Love it. ⛵️😎 Elaine

    Calling him Real Winner what are you trying to say. He sailed a completely different race. Compare apples to apples

  • @trebledog
    @trebledog ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the GGR should stop calling it a race, instead GGS, GOLDEN GLOBE SOLO.
