    another video?! Can´t belive it! Thank you again Brian. A lot of blacksmiths around the world wait for your videos. That´s a nice structure for a knife, for sure I will try one for myself. Thanks for all the team that shot the video, cant wait for the next one.

    I loved the bird inspiration, it kept your striking in time. The hammer spider was really interested in the expert technique. He was closeup viewing the - "Brian Brazeal signature Spider Rounding Hammer" in first hand action.
    Happy Trails, Will

    The jumping spider at 8:00 stole the video from that bird.

    Great Video. Ever since I saw your older videos of working with clay, about a year ago, I have kept a couple of bars of clay laying on my desk at work. When ever I need to take a break I practice forging something on edge of my desk using a big, like 2" across, aluminum bolt as a hammer. Has gotten me a few strange looks from coworkers.

      Peter Brownrigg I have rarely had anyone to film while I'm forging. maybe when I go to Kenya they will be able to document more of this.

    'the hex roll' @ 1:32... forms a little notch as you roll in. I'm going to try that.
    Thanks again for your videos. I'm trying to learn some techniques to make
    things a little easier.
    A spider jumps off the anvil onto the hammer at 8:08!

    I would love more knife videos from you! Most videos do almost all the work at the grinder instead of at the anvil! If I could request something, it would be to see how you would set a plunge line that curved toward the tip of the blade and or a recurve knife bevel! I'm having a hard time finding someone do that on the anvil.

    • @BrianBrazealBlacksmith
      @BrianBrazealBlacksmith  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use a set hammer and a striker to forge the plunge line. you can also get pretty good with free hand edge on edge blows on the near side, but you will miss sometimes. The curves are dependant on how you set your point to start with and how you forge the blade taper and/or the spine.

      +Brian Brazeal .
      That sounds great! I've tried creating that plunge line so many times on scraps with different techniques and tools, but that sounds pretty solid, I'll have to give it a go on the next one! Thanks for the advice I'm gonna write all that down haha!

    • @BrianBrazealBlacksmith
      @BrianBrazealBlacksmith  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stephan Murphy-Schmidt I've got a lot more content. I just don't have too many people with the time to film. Maybe when I go to Kenya they will film everything because we don't speak the same language, and they are allowing a lot more time to learn.

    • @BrianBrazealBlacksmith

      landypaule just a bit. Coil spring makes a good knife, and starting with round stock is a lot more efficient than flat bar.
