I got my preorder in April 2024 at Amazon,mine is getting ready to ship. This is my second time ordering this figure because during his original release, my figure had two right elbow joints so I couldn't do his super mode, so I had to sell mine just to make my money back.
Hard agree on the FOMO engineering, saw SS86 Snarl once at Target when I didn’t have the money and I basically never saw him again and now he doesn’t seem to be anywhere for less than 80 bucks
I feel bad for you man. I hate it when this happens. It happened to me so many times before that now I buy figures that I want when I find them in stores even if I don't have the money (aka even if I'm running low). It's better to get something for retail price and miss out on a clearance years down the line than pay extra to get the thing you want in case it gets sold out.
Scalping for anything sucks. No matter if you're a collector, you're trying get a gift, or you're just buying something just to use it someone will scalp something you need or want.
It was a fantastic figure, these issues is why I try to get the preorders when I can....I think it was during earthrise or kingdom I learned my lesson on the severe disorder of their distribution.
During it's initial release, this figure was readily available on Amazon for retail for preorder and then once again available for retail once released for at the very least a full month.
Reseller's are collector's who are messing up the hobby. Online shopping is also killing physical stores, Hasbro has seen a decrease in their orders from big box stores, This came from items hitting clearance, Ollies and Ross etc from Walmart and Target. Pretty much all manufacturing have decreased the volume, Trying to control the loss. Also keep in mind the economy isn't doing that great either and they see all this.
For a collector like me who hates dropping money on the spot, and barely does any leisure retail shopping Preorders are the easiest way to go for most if not all Transformers releases .Where I live the most recent releases I see are Legacy year one though United Deluxe Wave 2 did show up about a week ago. The best part of a preorder is locking in an item dated months down the line and not having to worry about availability as well as paying right up front before it ships. While it is true price reductions may happen down the line for most main line figures or at the very least remain at retail more desirable figures like Armada Optimus Prime, and definitely Ultra Magnus will only sky rocket until the inevitable rerelease/reissue of said figure 86 Prime may be dated for October, but I can see it being closer to December given the crazy demand and I've already had SS Megatron, Shockwave, United Gears delayed by about 3 months apiece due to preorders running out. Also just got the reissue for Earthrise Prime, which is significantly better than I ever gave him credit for, and now only waiting for Siege Jetfire to ship.
I'd be down to get a gamer edition Atari Armada Optimus Prime ( which color pallet is more in line with G1 Optimus Primes color scheme) it would no doubt not only be a more affordable version but one that would he good for those who don't have enough room to have him in powerlink mode.
Did they limit how many they put out so they can push out more when the inevitable Jetfire figure is released? I was thinking about getting one, but haven't seen one for even close to MSRP.
I'm hoping to find a copy of Armada OP at TFCON in Baltimore this year (along with SS86 Magnus and Siege Jetfire) because he's going for almost titan class price everywhere i look, and i recently got the Pulse exclusive Hot Shot in his Powerlinx colors with Jolt, so I pray that he gets reissued later on, especially seeing as Hasbro is banking towards the Unicron Trilogy cast of characters
I feel like I got lucky getting this guy, I really wanted a figure but couldn’t really spend too much I budgeted and pre ordered this guy, I just got lucky with the timing
Hard to get? Have you tried getting SS86 Ultra Magnus even a month or two months after he got released or Legacy Breakdown to complete Menacor? At least he got a reissue and these two may need it even more
I've missed out on both runs of it now, just because the money was never right at the times he was available. I'm hoping I can just find one for a decent price on the aftermarket at a later date, because it's unfortunately out of my hands right now.
Definitely needs another mass reissue especially since they are releasing Armada Galvatron. They were gone very quickly in ireland. I missed out on it and honestly not sure I'd want the recolour version if that comes out, I'd like the classic colours if I'm honest. Maybe there are waiting till after SS 86 Optimus releases before reissuing the armada prime figure.
I was lucky to pre order Legacy Armada Optimus on BBTS in the short window of time that he became available, and he is STILL on pre-order. I also have Devcon AND Beachcomber still pre ordered, and I wasn't able to pre order Axlegrease, so now my only options are +/- 40 usd listings on eBay. This is totally on Hasbro. It feels as if they barely produced any copies of any of these figures, and continue to fail to produce new copies, making empty promises to online retailers like BBTS and TFSource that EVENTUALLY, they might get around to making more of these figures. I've been waiting for 4 months now to get my pre orders, and it happened to me before that the orders would get outright cancelled due to "unexpected shortages of figures." Is this BBTS's or TFSource's faults? I highly doubt so.
Kinda wished they released him like they did with magmatron, in stores, its more easier to buy him in store than online, hopefully they send a nice bunch to every store

He was on pre-order on BBTS for like 2 months, and they don’t charge you till they have it in stock so I got mine back in April.
I was able to get him at a store called nerdbombers and Question is why have we not have legacy armada jetfire and Overload
