Cozy Winter Snowstorm At Our Cabin In The Woods: Firewood

- We had a couple of snowstorms at our cozy cabin in northern Minnesota. I’ve been spending a little time bucking and splitting firewood to heat our cabin next winter. #outdoors #home #homestead
what's that old saying? man, who cuts his own wood, warms himself twice. you are one hardworking family man!
Damn I like that.. thanks Piddy..
I've heard it said it heats you 3 times-- once when you cut it,, again when you split it and lastly when you burn it.
No 9 to 5 with him .
We work 40 hours than do the wood in my day .
What happens in retirement ? No SS , Medicare , pension - need to plan for old age too .
Awe Stanley is just too cute 😍. God bless you and your family.
You have a beautiful lady, family and life Kyle. May it long last my friend.
This reminds me so much of my grandpa. He always hauled his wood out in the winter because it was easy to drag out over the snow. He used horse and sleigh back then. He fished in the spring/summer and fall, he was also a carpenter who built many boats, churches and houses in their little community. He was a hard working man, his family always had warmth and food because of his hard work. You'll always provide the same. Well done, Kyle, well done.
It was so good to Skeeter quietly doing his thing! He is such a good boy! ❤
You are a beautiful family, Lord bless you all!!!
Great job with firewood.❗👌 Your home , woodshed and area looks so pretty with the snow . Adorable Stanley, my goodness he is growing and looks so healthy! Beautiful Family~~💚💙
We are all proud of your hard work, Kyle!!! Wish more young people would take on challenges, and become more responsible. BTW, I love watching Skeeter in your video - GREAT PUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We need to get men back to being men and their confidence and everything has been bashed over the years to de- mascinlate
Having the heat paid for a season ahead is such a plus! Your dog is such a loyal companion ❤
That's what happens when you treat your pup right they will stick by your side thru hell and back
It’s all coming back to me. 30-40 years ago just shoveling snow, cutting and splitting wood kept me in shape. It was a good life 😊
Stanley is growing so much. He is a beautiful baby. I love watching you work. You take such good care of the family and the homestead.
I love how your life is so simple yet so very rich in your love of the earth. Very calming.
You work so hard to keep your family warm in the winter. And Stanley is growing so fast he’s so adorable. You both are great parents. love Skeeter helping with the chickens..
He is a good man.
We are very grateful for the time you give us. I enjoy your posts very much! ❤
I could watch an hour of firewood processing no problem. Idk why, but it's satisfying to me lol.
I watch Just A Few Acres Farm and can watch a 30 minute video of him cutting hay. There's just something mesmerizing about it
You are always thinking ahead, and you work so hard. I applaud all that you do!!! God bless you and your sweet family!!!!❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
I love all of your videos because i can't get out much anymore. 76 granny here. My family is from Northern Minnesota area. My grandpa and uncles had a saw mill on the Mississippi.
Another great video. Little Stanley is growing so fast.
Thanks for sharing 👍 God bless you and your family 😀
Kyle love and enjoy your videos. May the lord bless and protect you and Sierra and Stanley and the homestead and getting your firewood ready for next year's
Kyle ur a hardworking young man and Sierra is to. U are a inspiration to young people. I'm older now and not in the greatest health and I look forward to ur videos each week. Gives me hope to overcome my health issues and live life
Goodness stanley is getting so big. He is just adorable!
Great video so happy to see Stanley oh he get cuter by the minute ❤ until you next video stay warm stay strong and God bless ❤️🙏✌🏼
Smart move Kyle and you can still add to the wood pile if time allows it.
Baby Stanley is growing!🤗
Oh that Stanley- so adorable! You're a beautiful family. Great idea to get the firewood done now.
Great video Kyle
So busy and getting ahead on firewood a great idea
Cierra and baby are so beautiful
Saw Kitty too
Skeeter always right with you
Take care and prayers for you all
See you all in next video ❤❤❤❤
That is smart keep chopping off the firewood stacking firewood staying busy during the winter you have a wonderful wife a wonderful son you keep the animals fed finger staying busy
You can't go wrong with Skeeter as a supervisor, Kyle. This video reminded me of that saying, "chop wood... carry water." And, Stanley is so cuuuuute!❤
Your an awesome family man and you have an awesome family. Love your videos.
MY MY yall have a baby. Been a while sense I've seen yall CONGRATULATIONS 🎉😊
So glad Skeeter was there to supervise!😂😂❤
I love seeing how nicely your axe splits the logs in super cold temps.
I agree. I have always cut and split my wood in the winter. Keeps the cabin fever away. Plus it always gets me outside.
Another great video of a hardworking man protecting and providing for his family. That Stanley is looking good and healthy. Wishing you all the very best.
Prayers
I have a tip for your chickens.
If you hang a small cabbage or broccoli from the rafters they can peck at it. Entertainment for the winter.
Dude is living the good life! Beautiful little family nice little home hes put in all that work himself. Thank you Kyle for all the content and knowledge.
NOTHING LIKE A BIG STACK OF FIREWOOD! GREAT JOB!!!
3:10 Yes, your chickens were upset, you should have, tried to keep the dust down and poured the bags out slowly.
Perfect! A job well done!
Stanley is so cute, God Bless your home, your attitude and hard work is truly an inspiration, (been watching since the first cabin)
So happy to see someone beat the system.
Way to go! Working smart. I have a ton of respect for you.
Your dog is so dang cute, sitting and watching.
You're a firewood splitting machine...😂😅 Happy to see Stanley and Sierra doing well. Love what ya'll are doing 😊
I also like cutting firewood in the winter.
It looks like one of the advantage is that the wood splits a whole lot easier
Well said, wood cut and put up is like money in the bank. Each year I do my wood and it’s really great to get it done early. Then on to other activities! Maybe it’s a lot of work but so is paying huge gas, electric or oil fuel bills. God Bless, Larry
Sweet Skeeter is such a good friend. He follows you everywhere. Great looking wood shed. That’s gotta feel wonderful. 👍
I just like your four legged friend Skeeter, he is always where you are, my my how adorable is your baby so cuddly and a bonny wee man. So are you still building the cabin down the back, just haven't seen you working on it at all. As always your home is very cosy and you are such a good provider to your family. Cheers Kyle
Perfect example of how to work smarter not harder. You're staying ahead
Great video. Stanley is.growing so fast.
This baby is going to be strong like his father 😊 !
Always satisfying to have a job completed WAY upfront. And you've found a better time of year to cut and split your firewood and its easier too. So that's a win-win and you will make very good use of the days in Spring that you have freed up from firewood harvesting.
SKEETER!! Hey buddy! You're doing a great job of supervising all this work! It's a huge responsibility on your young shoulders.
Cutting & splittingvin winter is the way to go. One is you sweat as much and second is frozen wood splits much easier. Thanks Kyle
Hello Kyle , tks for video and quick pic shot Stanley and Ceiria...baby boy is growing fast. Chickens look happy and well taken care of... and Skit stays right with ya. Love watching wood cut and split....stacked...a woodshed full. Spring is just around the corner and will be here b4 we know it. Much love to ya'll......
Thanks for the video. Always look forward to them.
Be prepared more snow coming for February and then spring and warmer weather. Stanley is such a cutie you and Sierra are so blessed. Stay safe and warm Blessings.
Thanks for the video.
May God bless you!
Kyle, Skeeter was watching you so intently! lol He wanted to help you so bad. What a awesome dog you have! You are such a role model for young men to see how hard working you are to take care of Sierra, Stanley and your Homestead lands. When you work hard for the right reasons, good things will come your way! Great job young man, great job!
What a beautiful baby boy 👶 the snow is coming down and all is well on the homestead, take care stay warm 💕🇺🇲
Love watching you guys. You have a beautiful life and a beautiful family.
Wow!
That is one adorable baby!
Skeeter is such a good boy. You should show more video of you loving him.
Brilliant you are staying a year ahead of your heating needs during winter when you have a bit more time!
I wondered why you wanted to swat the bugs while cutting firewood. Happy you chose a new path, it just makes sense. ❤
I love Skeeter he is so loyal. Follows you everywhere Kyle. Loved seeing little Stanley and Sierra. Stanley is growing so fast and so darn cute. Love how you make sure your family is taking care of. Have a great weekend
By this time next year Stanley will probably be walking and will want to be outside “supervising” your wood chopping and you will have to be an expert snowman maker.
Another great video, Kyle!
lol look at that little feller❤❤❤
Thankyou
Your family and homestead are lovely! Could you please explain to us how you all access food - nearby grocery store, buy in bulk?? That would be of great interest to me. Thanks.
Always great to see Stanley!!!
Hey Kyle, some sweet timing for firewooding, that’s for sure. We are cheering for you, here in Anoka County.
great video. Thanks
The home looks so comfy….good work Kyle.
8:48…Skeeter is such a good boy. Sitting up there supervising. 😂
I know it's been said already but I'll say it again, you are such a hard worker !
I lived in downeast Maine for many years and always cut and split firewood in the dead of winter...so much easier to split when the wood was frozen
Split the wood and toss directly into sled. When sled is filled drag it to shed and empty. Repeat as needed .
This method improves productivity as you will not have to handle each piece of wood multiple times
Making that maul look easy, dude! Nice work.
My favorite show on the internet! I always look forward to Kyle's Cabin!
You are a very hard worker.
Young Man, here's a tip for you, take an old tire and put logs in the center, makes for easy chopping, as a Minnesota boy
I appreciate your content, well done Denny from Minnesota
Good video Kyle. Stanley is growing fast. We are getting snow in central Minnesota tonight and Saturday. Thanks!
I do the same. Easy working when it's cold. Be good to have just a covered area in back of wood shed to pull cut logs in for sawing up. Dry place to store and work them. I garden. Time is a premium due to wet weather in the spring. Orchard trimming time coming soon. You have to work around it. Got some more crazy weather coming this next week. Some snow and ice around me in east KY. Much more just a little north. All good. Take care.
Keep up the good work! Stay safe and strong. 🇺🇸
Thank you very much for the spring time reminder, freaking love it!!!
Pretty front door ❤
Great to see all well. There is always something to do when living off grid. It’s great that you are filling the wood shed. The new cabin and the log cabin are still project to be done. Until your next video, take care. (Judy NB)🌲🇨🇦
Great to see you guys! Stanley is getting so big! See you next time!
Nice to see that you got wood!
Love watching your videos from New Brunswick Canada
Very enjoyable as always , thank you......from Australia 👍
Love these chill videos, so relaxing
Love this...
As I’ve always thought, you guys are an awesome family!
🐾🐾 Texas
I see the boss (skeeter)is there making sure everything is done right..such a good dog..Stanley sure is growing
You drag the wood by foot now. In 8 to 10 years, you'll use a snow sled to drag the wood. In 12 to 15 years, you'll tell Stanley to drag the wood to the wood shed. Lol.
The snow is so beautiful!
Saw your post and thought of little Stanley. Hope he and mom are both doing well .
