    just so you guys know father fish has stated that you dont directly pour the res jar into the fish tank, you use a baster or a eye dropper and move the organisms to a separate jar, with fresh dry leaves, and aquarium water(so you dont start a new culture).once you move some of the culture to a new container they will repopulate in that jar so then you can add them to your aquarium without the possibility of adding anything harmful to your aquarium.hope this help anyone trying to accomplish the father fish method

      @@omarfareed3777 there are multiple ways to do it. You can add portions of your jar to your tank here and there as the leaf litter begins to breakdown or add it all at once depending on the jar and tank size. You can add some of the jar then keep culturing that jar with dry leaves when needed. The biggest thing to take from it in my opinion is it’s not necessary a food source just for your fish but for the entire ecosystem of your aquarium. Yes the small fish will feed off the macro organisms but the introduction of microorganisms helps to maintain and balance the ecosystem on so many levels. So to answer your question no to daily and if you are pulling from that same jar probably every couple weeks depending on the culture.

There are still microorganisms in these jars but you can add portions of the jar instead of the whole jar as well but would still wait the 30 days.
      As far as the dry leaves yeah they are completely fine to store that way forever probably, as long as there is no moisture in it that could cause mold.
      Hope that helps 😁👍

    Hello there Patty. I just recently began doing the ff methods. Just set up my tank. I'm on day 2. I was looking up Resurrection jars and once of your other videos came up. I subscribed and am watching more😊 I went to a local pond area and collected for my resurrection jars about a week ago. In your video i see where you grabbed the dry leaves and put them in a jar with water. Is that regular tap water you put them in? How long do you watch those leaves before putting in (just) the leaves? I'm loving your very informative videos

    • @pattys_aquatics
      @pattys_aquatics  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hello and thank you, I put the dry leaves in a resurrection jar that’s sat for its 30 days. I collect more than one jar at a time so I can have one just for adding leaves to. After the intial jar is added to your aquarium and the leaf litter is breaking down and disappearing that’s when you add the leaves that were soaked in the spare jar to your tank. As far as how long to soak them it’s up to you. I have had some that leached tannins so I let them to be done not to add that to my tank but otherwise just a few days so they sink. Plus with using the spare jar more microorganisms will collect on those leaves and are added to your tank.
      Hope that helped and thank you very much for watching. If you have more questions feel free to ask 😁👍

      @@pattys_aquatics that is very helpful, thank you. I need to set up a dry leaf Resurrection jar. Just water from the pond (or water source) and the dry leaves correct? No muck, sticks, etc

      @@fefemcb2288 you can use an actual collected resurrection jar you would just need to watch it for the 30 days first to make sure nothing is in there that would attach to the leaf and into your tank.

    • @pattys_aquatics
      @pattys_aquatics  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The thinking is anything microscopic that needs a host to survive would die off in that 30 days that your observing it. That’s why that 30 wait is very important, not only to find things you can see you don’t want in your tank to remove but for the ones you can’t see as well. Thanks for watching 😁👍
