I clicked thinking this was a “big TH-cam channel”. Saw you have 400 subs and was disappointed. Video quality and editing is on point. Definitely going to be watching now on 📈🔥🔥
Heading back to Osaka this December and this was the best made video I’ve seen about Japanese Pokemon cards in the area! Looking forward to more content 😄
Great video. I really enjoy it. I also visited Osaka a week ago, but sadly did not have a chance to go much card stores as you did... Will make sure I will visit stores next time like you did. Thank you for the helpful info on card store locations!!
Watching this video I'm very much reminded of my own trip this January. I went by all the card shops just to browse and purchase some stuff. Although I mainly look for the sleeves instead of the cards, it's REALLY hard not to pick up at least a few dozen cards just for art and the memories. I really hope to go back soon.
It was a pleasure to watch! Very well made video! Seems like Osaka is the best place for card hunting! Those AR at 80 yen 😮 even the 151 starters were very cheap
Thank you! Osaka was amazing! Tokyo was also very good (video to come), but more spread out. Whereas Osaka was super easy because all the shops were together 😊
man the price on some of this cards/slabs. i can't wait to go japan next year as i only started collecting pokemon cards this year. love the video keep it up!! new subscriber here!
Gotta give the TH-cam algorithm a shoutout for this one! Great video, quality editing, and I really enjoy your perspective on things. New sub and I look forward to seeing more!
This is going to be so helpful for when I head to Osaka in a few weeks, also from Australia! Thanks for making this I’m only going for Pokémon basically and my husband is my filmer so your partners reaction resonates with me 🤣
Hahaha I like to think she came around by the end but I’m not sure if that’s actually the case 😅😅 Ahhh have an amazing trip!! I’m so jealous! I subbed to you the other day, excited to follow along with your content! Congrats on the 1000 subs as well 🙌🏼🙌🏼
@@PocketQuests thank you so much! I have 100% taken notes from your video, I’m really excited and really glad I found another Aussie to sub to! Especially a girl, there’s so few of us 🤣🤣🤣🔥❤️
I thought it was a "big youtuber" video and 659 subs lol. Niceee editing, video recording, voice over, background music! Please use ads to promote your videos, specially shorts (it's cheaper). You deserve at least the 10k subs already! Hopefully we can collab later on (I'm retired but seems I'll be back in a couple of months lol)
Thank you for watching!! I found most do accept card nowadays but I’d definitely check before picking out your cards because there are still some that are cash only 😊
I didn’t see a whole lot in Osaka. The only other place that comes to mind was bee store which is on the same street as Magi. They had their Pokemon upstairs and had some slabs up there as well which were decently priced. Otherwise I found Tokyo much better for cheap slabs, particularly in Ikebukuro. 😊
Great and very detailed video :) Are these shops prices are fix or can ou bargain? Are there any shops which are selling also english version of the cards/games? Thanks )
Thank you! Prices are generally fixed - if you were making very significant purchases they may give you a discount but usually fixed. The only store I found with some English cards was Card Secret in Ikebukuro (Tokyo). Hope that helps 😊
Really helpful as I am traveling to Japan in 2 weeks. May I ask, any store that you might know that has English cards? (Traveling to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto)
The only one that had a lot of English cards was Card Secret in Ikebukuro (Tokyo). You may find a small amount in a few others in Tokyo, but I don’t recall seeing many outside of Card Secret, or in Osaka or Kyoto. Hope that helps! 😊😊
I found most did accept card, although there were definitely still quite a few that were cash only. If you plan on buying a bit I’d definitely carry some cash (or at least check if they take card before you pick everything out 😅). Thanks for watching 😊
Ahh sorry for that! Its very hard to get the sound at an ideal level in both headphones and through the speakers, it always sounds quite different between the two. Thank you for watching 😊
Definitely!! Having the extra time to scope out the stores before making purchases is definitely beneficial, could probably save yourself a lot of money by doing that. Some of the differences in prices were crazy 😬
Love the video! I will be in Japan again in September. Im in Tokyo Hiroshima Osaka Kyoto Sapporo. What you think where I find the best prices and whats the safest way to transport all the cards? :)
I found both Osaka and Tokyo to be great! Tokyo - both Ikebukuro and Akihabara were great, but you had to spend more time hunting around to get the good prices, whereas Osaka it was a lot less time consuming because there was only really one area that had the card stores. In terms of transport, I brought mine home in deck boxes, and then in my carry on, which worked pretty well! Hope that helps 😊
I found that most stores sold booster boxes, it was more just hunting around for the best price. I think I got my shiny treasures from card box, and they seemed to be the cheapest that I saw while I was there, but most stores had stock! Definitely just wander down the Main Street in Nipponbashi and you’ll be able to duck in and out of 5-10 stores very quickly to suss out prices 😊
You say heaps a lot. I don't know how i got this video i lived in Osaka half my life and pass by most of these places on the daily. I am curious how is it asking for these ones behind the glass? Do you know some Nihongo or is it a lot of pointing? Anywhos hope you enjoyed Osaka.
Haha it must be an Australian thing! 😅 I found that there were certain words that were pretty commonly used in the card stores, eg “showcase” was what was generally understood when you wanted help to get things out of the glass. From there it was mostly pointing but I didn’t have much trouble at all which is good 😊

You should put link of shops in comment like you did for Kyoto. It could be very helpfull for people 😊
Thank you! All shops are also listed and linked in the video description 😊
This is the EXACT kinda of video I've been looking for - THANK YOU! Do you know if these shops accept credit card payment?

Hi Stacey. Where do you think the shops for getting slabs in Osaka? I saw there are heaps of options in Magi. Is there any other shop? Thank you.

Do you think a good ideia start a collection with japanise card? The most of collection is in English...
Excellent video! Using it as a reference for my November trip. Just a question, do the card stores accept credit cards for payment?
I found most did accept card, although there were definitely still quite a few that were cash only. If you plan on buying a bit I’d definitely carry some cash (or at least check if they take card before you pick everything out 😅). Thanks for watching 😊
TY just subbed
cant wait to see your pickups

Pretty sure the seating area is for tournaments 😂
It definitely is 😂😂
Damn gonna be famous soon

Your sound while transitioning is way too loud. Love ur passion for cards.
Ahh sorry for that! Its very hard to get the sound at an ideal level in both headphones and through the speakers, it always sounds quite different between the two. Thank you for watching 😊
its crazy how some cards are 150 yens in one shop and 480 in other and more like 480 in one and 2980 in other (same card)
Definitely!! Having the extra time to scope out the stores before making purchases is definitely beneficial, could probably save yourself a lot of money by doing that. Some of the differences in prices were crazy 😬

What would you say the experience with the shop workers are if you don’t speak Japanese?
Do they speak English or do you just point to what you want?
Really cool video I want to go to Japan so bad….What was the 3 best stores for sealed booster boxes??
I found that most stores sold booster boxes, it was more just hunting around for the best price. Definitely just wander down the Main Street in Nipponbashi and you’ll be able to duck in and out of 5-10 stores very quickly to suss out prices 😊
@@PocketQuests ok ok good to know thank you
😍
Some sale prices are just due to the amount of stock they have. If they have too much stock they mark it down.
Ahhh this makes sense!! Glad we had a look at some of those cards then - great prices! 😊
Most store's hold their vintage behind the counters just ask .
Oooo interesting! Thanks for the tip 😊
come on guys SUBSCRIBE !!

what the, i saw a sightseer for 4970 yen??
