@@CJ_Frazier yes we make them often my favorite way is with the cinnamon burst bread from Great Harvest you make the bread like french toast then construct your sandwich and then cover with the basting cover to melt cheese.
My all-time favorite sandwich. My fam loves these! Others try to imitate it but this is the only true way to make Monte Cristo's. I serve mine with a Blackberry Jalapeno Pepper Jelly.

Two part question 1. How safe is it to use that aluminum pan on the Blackstone? 2. Would it be possible to use a cast iron skillet or would it take too long to get it to temp?
Great questions!! It’s totally safe to use both. You won’t have any issues with it messing up your griddle top! I’ve used aluminum pans multiple times with recipes over the years now. It’s awesome!
My husband loves Bennigan’s monte cristo. They closed all the restaurants near us, so I’ve gotta surprise him with this! About what temperature should the oil be?
If you have a Cheddar’s restaurant in your area they have this sandwich on the menu. It’s been a while since I’ve had one but I remember it was very good.

I want to get more monte christo sandwiches. Havarti Cheese is pretty awesome. Deep frying in oil might not be necessary, and the bisquick batter might not be absolutely necessary. The toated bread was interesting.

I think you nailed it . Although it is originally ham and Swiss only, but you made a popular variation wich is the way I like it too . Next time try a Chipotle raspberry jam with it . Add some spice in your life .

There is a bennigan’s in Monahans TX. Some investors tried to bring back the franchise and it’s open to this day at least. Same classics as the original

Dude.. Bennigans had a “fried cheese cheeseburger” which was a burger with a deep friend wheel of cheese (like a round mozzarella cheese stick) and marinara sauce… it was AWESOME. Also, this is why I’m fat :( hahahahaha

Personally, while the raspberry jam is good and I'm sure the honey mustard is as well, you basically have made deep fried french toast. Put maple syrup on it.
I think typically Monte Cristos are done with the French toast finish. This is a different and interesting twist. Do you have a recipe utilizing the French toast concept that would set it apart from others?
Funny, but I always had "Monte Cristo" sandwiches that were basically French toast with either ham or turkey, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing, plus dusted on top with powdered confectioner's sugar... 🤔 💋

Funny, but I always had "Monte Cristo" sandwiches that were basically French toast with either ham or turkey, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing, plus dusted on top with powdered confectioner's sugar... 🤔 💋
