Bennigan's is the only place I used to get my Monte Cristo's and I was SO SAD when they shut down, but I think with your help and then some of the way I make them, I think I am absolutely okay making these now, wish me luck in finding the raspberry jam, might have to order it online, can't find it around here- I love you guys!!! Two part question 1. How safe is it to use that aluminum pan on the Blackstone? 2. Would it be possible to use a cast iron skillet or would it take too long to get it to temp?
Great questions!! It’s totally safe to use both. You won’t have any issues with it messing up your griddle top! I’ve used aluminum pans multiple times with recipes over the years now. It’s awesome!

I want to get more monte christo sandwiches. Havarti Cheese is pretty awesome. Deep frying in oil might not be necessary, and the bisquick batter might not be absolutely necessary. The toated bread was interesting.
There is a bennigan’s in Monahans TX. Some investors tried to bring back the franchise and it’s open to this day at least. Same classics as the original

Dude.. Bennigans had a “fried cheese cheeseburger” which was a burger with a deep friend wheel of cheese (like a round mozzarella cheese stick) and marinara sauce… it was AWESOME. Also, this is why I’m fat :( hahahahaha

I think you nailed it . Although it is originally ham and Swiss only, but you made a popular variation wich is the way I like it too . Next time try a Chipotle raspberry jam with it . Add some spice in your life .
Personally, while the raspberry jam is good and I'm sure the honey mustard is as well, you basically have made deep fried french toast. Put maple syrup on it.

@@CJ_Frazier I have not made them before but I have eaten them at a resturant. I am going to try this one but I’ll butter the bread first. I’m thinking the butter would kick it up a notch.
Funny, but I always had "Monte Cristo" sandwiches that were basically French toast with either ham or turkey, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing, plus dusted on top with powdered confectioner's sugar... 🤔 💋
