I got it last week and I personally think that the THX amp section of the BTR7 is not surpassed by the BTR15 overall sound quality, although the BTR15 is definitely fantastic for price and features. I think the BTR7 is still one level up.... but let's see the incoming BTR17... thanks a lot for the review and for having taken the Gizaudio channel, you keep the quality still very high!
Thanks so much for the support! :) The BTR7 definitely sounds better, with clearer detail, separation, and even better bass. The soundstage is also a step up. That said, the BTR15 is smaller and more portable, and for the price, it's a great value.
I'm following your recent videos and I gotta say I'm so hyped right now with upcoming BTR17, anxious about your comparisons against Muse M5 that you placed higher than btr7, I got Cayin RU7 on release but I kinda want a different flavor and the convenience of bluetooth. but the comparison that I really want just so I can silence my FOMO is Fiio BTR17 x ibasso DC07Pro. I'm really set on upcoming Fiio but DC07 Pro seems a resolution juggernaut on paper. God help me until november 😅
I'm really excited about the BTR17 too! A comparison with the M5 Ultra would be pretty interesting. I’ve heard great things about the DC07 Pro from a bunch of people, so I might have to check it out.
Although this is my DAC/Amp of choice due to its portability and flexibility a lot of review fail to point out some of its drawbacks. 1) Connectivity issues and interference, depending of how far you are, I (and other folks) have been experiencing connection issues from the source. 2) App design and usability. Chi-fi is not really known for their UX design of their apps and do not meet standards UX requirements (just look at Moondrop apps for the Dusk). The app kinda sucks design wise. Functionality wise it’s ok at best. 3) Neat little trick for Mac users, if you connect it to your Mac you have access to the same app of your iOS device. Needless to say that it was design to be handled by a touch screen so its usability is poor but it but at least its a possibility.
Hi Andy, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I’d like to add my experience as well: 1. The connection stability on the BTR15 has been excellent. Like I mentioned in the video, its range is even better than the BTR7. I’ve often left my phone on my desk and taken the BTR15 to another room without it disconnecting once. I haven’t experienced any interference either. Maybe the phone model affects this? I’ve always used LDAC (optimized for audio quality), and AptX Adaptive is turned off by default in the app. 2. I haven’t had any issues with the app’s design, but there’s about a one-second delay when navigating between pages or sometimes selecting options. 3. That’s a great little trick, thanks for sharing!
Oh, man. I have opportunity to get the BTR7 for $176 at my local store on a discount, or BTR15 for $140 from Aliexpress Fiio store. I prefer to spend less, plus the BTR15 has pc mode (power passthrough). Can't decide :/ I don't think I should wit for BTR17 since I suppose it won't get cheaper.
The BTR7 sounds better to my ears, with greater resolution and a more expansive soundstage. However, the BTR15 has its own appeal as it’s much more compact, portable, and still has excellent sound quality with impressive detail and powerful output. Its small size makes the BTR15 far more convenient for everyday use.
I am super pumped for the upcoming BTR17. Good take on the 15 brother.
Thanks!

Even if the sound quality is 20% less, I'd choose the BTR15 because of this compact size.
Yeah, I felt the same unless I need the higher sound quality of the BTR7.
@@Atechreviews The whole point is portability.

BTR15 looks quite good man, I was previously planning to get the BTR7 but now I want the BTR15 :/
There's also the upcoming BTR17.
@@Atechreviews Well, i guess the wait continues then haha.

This Btr15 looks really good, design and specification wise, i just wonder how much better it is then my current Shanling up4 2022 edition?
I've never tried the UP4 2022 edition. A comparison would be interesting,
Nice. 😊
Thanks! 😊

Hey can you tell which to get between the dusk and the studio 4 for female vocals
To me, the Studio 4 is better for male and female vocals. The DUSK has better bass and has EQ options.
I'd go for a tanchjim origin rather than dusk for vocals.
How about the battery life of btr7
Starting with a full 100% battery, I get less than 4 hours of usage when using the balanced output on high gain.
