    Nice explanation, thanks!
How did you check if the radio you bought had App-connect with Android Auto unlocked?

I use CarPlay so not sure if Android Auto is unlocked or not. Sorry.

Nice instructions Lance. Will this 8" MIB2 fit in a 2015 GSW TDI SEL with Nav? Is there a USB Port available?

I can’t say for sure. The brains are in the glove box with the MIB and that’s where all the wiring goes. You would probably need to source the MIB2 brains for the glove box, and the USB parts that come with that. And then I would have no idea if all the wiring is there. It might be easier in your case to go with one of those eBay aftermarket units. Sorry I can’t provide more insight.

I'm upgrading an Alltrack 2019 S radio to the 2019 SEL radio. I bought the brain and the face from a parted 2019 S. My glovebox in my S has an empty space, but the dealer says I need a new glovebox and wiring harness. Does this match with your knowledge and experience?

Not sure about this. The brains I thought were always in the glovebox. Which radio are you upgrading from? I know you cannot go from non-Nav to Nav without brain replacement.

@@lancesgarage 2019 S radio. The glove box has an empty cubby hole where the brain would be in a 2019 SEL, but the form factor looks slightly off for the brain

@@eniac78 I went to euro zone tuning in connecticut to get my 6.5" screen in my sportwagen s upgraded to the 9.2" screen available in eGolf and other higher-trim golfs. Yes you need a different glove compartment insert to hold the CPU brain. It's $175 on EZT's site. Look at the MK7 infotainment system retrofit section. You will also need one or two additional wire cables to connect it all up.

You can find them on eBay for $200 to $250 that have been pulled from wrecked cars. LKQ has a large eBay presence and is where I got mine from. I went with more expensive German made unit as opposed to the cheaper Mexican made one. Same part number and both will work. I also stayed Golf but and Atlas one would have worked to as screen is screen and the brains are in the glove box.

@@lancesgarage Ah, okay. I have a 2019 Polo, and there's nothing in the glove box!
Do I need to buy equipment for the glove box too?
