The best vocal Firewind could get, since Jorn Lande is not available mostly as a permanent member of anything (Besides "Avantasia" perhaps). I wish i could hear "Firewind - Ode To Leonidas" with Herbie as he would fit very good.
At first, I never imagined what would be the new Firewind's sound when the new lineup was announced, but then Rising Fire caught me completely before the full record came out. All I can say is, this has become their best lineup yet. And their eponymous record was for me, the best of 2020 heavy metal albums.
Herbie is a real busy boy. The Lightbringer Of Sweden, Sonic Haven, Firewind and so on. Not that I complain, one of my favorite singers for some time, whatever he sings, works ! This too. Last two Firewind releases have been good after the disappointing Few Against Many, which is good. Been listening from the very beginning, keep it up !
I do not think they are bad now or something, I just think they sound like any other power metal band, they lost their character. I know people that are into avantasia, helloween and bands like that will like it much more now, but I honestly miss Apollo and that style. All 4 albums with him are a piece of art to me. Live he is definitely worse than this singer, no doubt about that, but man, I love his voice on the albums, it's so damn unique! The guitar riffs too, holy cow!
This long-running band continue to plough the down-the-line traditional Power Metal furrow - and why not?? If you've got a sound, and it works for you, why not stick with it? There's something comforting about a band where you know exactly what you're going to get. So there's not much to say about this tune other than it's great Power Metal, from the band who've done it for long enough to be very good at it. The fans won't be disappointed with this reassuringly very Firewind number. My Score: Good 3*

El error está en creer que por ser de X religión se está obligado a consumir sólo letras cristianas.
