What I love about the mycelium war story is that both sides are the bad guys. You have Grian’s disobedience, clashing with Scars destruction of the district’s environment. Grass may look better, but Mycelium is the original land. You could even connect both of them to representations of greed. Grian is like a child that doesn’t like change, he represents, well... resistance. And Scar is like a company, he represents corporate greed, thinking money is more important than environment. And what’s amazing about this is that unlike Dream SMP (which is role play), this is just people being people and not actors... Awesome
I wouldn't say that Grian is a bad guy for resisting against bad guys. He doesn't like change if change is destructive, which is a fair philosophy that I cannot fault.
I don't think Grian's 'badness' was reprseented in his inherent resistance, I think its more in the spiteful manner that he executed that resistance. I mean, in the world, we don't know if Scar would've listened initially if Grian had simply brought up his concerns like a normal person, instead, Grian chose to retaliate in a petty manner, and honestly the act of creating a whole secret resistance is pretty hostile considering that the only thing Scar had done at that point was remove the mycelium Grian had placed unsolicitedly. So imo Scar's badness came in the form of destructive change, and Grian's came in the form of impulsiveness and desire for drama.

Imma ramble randomly here: Ok, now no one quote me on this, bcs i won't be bothered to double check myself, but i remember back in art class how we learned about colors, yeah? and how green and purple seem to be dichotomous to "evil". It also came up one time while watching Sanders Sides, when there was this one post examining Virgil's color theory, though i can't remeber what exactly it said for the life of me, but what i'm trying to get at is that, in that last frame with scar and grian being green and purple, respectively, not only represents their specific turfs, but can also come off as both of them representing certain "evils" bcs by the end of the day, at a fundamental level, neither of them were perfectly "good" on the matter of the discourse. Chaotic, yes. Lawful? Sus. Downright evil? Nah. But good? even more so nahhhh. just wanted to share. It's just a silly thing that's been on the back of my head since the everyone kept calling mycelium purple, which i never really took srsly bcs it looks gray to me.
I think Scar is only protrait as the bad guy cuz Grian has a bigger audience, as such, he's the one most people will be rootin for, which kinda sucks. I eamn, I love Grian, but for example, there's another youtuber called Akerure HQ, who did ann animatic like a movie trailer abr the turf war and I thought it was so good cuz it made both of them look like a villain in a way, which is true, both are wrong, and both are right, that's why I've enjoyed this video and the whole turf war so much. It was really fun
Frick, why am I sad??? This is amazing, the song really fits, it may be all about the principle, but it's also all about perspective. Honestly, I love exploring the other perspectives in these things, really makes you think. Awesome job!
