Thirty years later and this song still grabs me from the first notes.
still gives me goose bumps and I'm 60
Gives me goose bumps and I'm 73!
This band should have made it on the world stage. Brilliant
they toured america
Whoope do!! So did many Oz bands but who knows what happened?? NO international hit record and they should have as they were more than the equal of so many international bands. It's a shame. They were world class.
I agree, this band had so much talent
They would have if Suzi had not married Nuno from Extreme thus breaking up the band !
Yes,👍❤️💯🎵🎶🎥🇦🇺
Suzi was gorgeous then and still is. Love baby animals
It's so sad, the early 90's saw the end of the pub rock era. Baby Animals should have been massive and broke in the USA. But venues decided poker machine gaming rooms gave a better return Vs having rock bands doing shows. Honestly it's tragic.
The end the fuckn end
No such thing at mine every sat n Sun Aus Rock
Yeah brother ✔️👍
I got ejected from Baby Animals concert and ended up partying with a bunch of skinheads in a pool hall in Perth....what a great night!
Opening for Van Halen in 93 was as close as they got but yeah they should of made it there.
Bring the pub culture back by children getting off their devices and learning to play real instruments and adults stop playing pokies.
Fucking rich people and their gentrification. Wrecked live music for everyone.
Suze DeMarchi is one of those female rock singers that seems to combine her femininity and strong and powerful energy that easily holds her own with the rocking male players in the band and is stunning and vocally kick arse as well.World class
😁 No she isn’t. Don’t be silly 😂
So glad I saw them live. Why they were not bigger is a shame. One of the best voices in rock.
😁 No her vouce isn’t! Don’t be silly 😂
The reigning Queen of Aussie Rock, Suze DeMarchi!
Still absolutely smoking hot, electric on stage and what a voice!
Check out their new song TONIGHT. Incredible!
Saw them recently. Still smoking
😂 … no she isn’t. Don’t be silly 😁
Anyone who doesn't feel it when they drop that riff at the start has no soul.
This band should have made it on the world stage. Brilliant
No they shouldn’t have. Don’t be silly 😂
I don't get it. The band is so much better than she is.
One Word from God and I feel a whole lot better, yeah yeah yeah
Met them backstage after they opened for Van Halen in 1992 in St. Louis. Suze was very friendly. Loved them, wished they'd gotten the success they deserved here in the States.
That Dave guy can sure play....
Anyone who doesn't feel it when they drop that riff at the start has no soul.
...or has a bad taste in music..!!
It's so RAW! Freakin' love it! 👍
It's even better playing it on guitar, straight up power chords! Amp volume goes up cause as Joanne said, it's raw!!
Agree
Chunga-wunga!
Gotta love Suze De Marchi's voice...
What a voice she's got, like wow... I have always loved this song !!!
I love Baby Animals, some of their songs still get airplay, especially Rush You. Proper Aussie talent. Yeah.
I heard this for the first time on the radio today (I'm a recent immigrant, don't hold it against me!) and bought the first album on the strength of it, not disappointed!
Cracking Aussie rock.
And yes, she is a babe :)
Nice one! 10 yrs later what other Aussie artists are you a fan of? Where in Oz did you move to?
@@Jesso_21 I'm still halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in the sticks and loving it :) I've seen The Baby Animals live twice since actually. Favourite Aussie artists ... The Angels, The Chats, Amyl And The Sniffers, Southern River Band and, of course, AC/DC. Pretty much a fan of honest music in general.
@@Jesso_21 + The Living End, who I somehow forgot to remember.
@@MatthewJohnCrittenden Cool hopefulky that means you're a Maroons supporter then & maybe even Broncos lol. I'm in Brisbane, north side & know between here & Sunshine Coast better than Gold Coast but have seen some lovely spots down that way too. Halfway hm my guess would be near Stapylton, Yatala. Never seen Baby Animals, funny you mentioned seeing them twice as I posted to FB & my cousin said the same. I didn't even know Suze was still doing gigs, makes sense though. Great taste! I saw Living End in 97 when they supported Offspring haha dont hold that against me, it was Ixnay tour so mostly that & some from Smash as I went off them with Americana. They played here just recently too. Living End weren't that well known yet & had just started to take off with Prisoner of Society & Second Solution. They were incredible, loved them & their energy etc. One of my fave concerts ever.
I will say as a Queenslander now (10 yrs more than qualifies if you want that title though lol) surprised Powderfinger isn't on your list. My fave Aussie band & not just cause Brissie boys but most ppl like them or a cpl of sonys at least. I flogged Double Allergic album 96, 97, 98 & still my fave by rhem. Oh I almost forgot Regurgutator too another great Brissy band.
Might be familiar with the band Custard and/or kids tv show Bluey which is "set" in Brissy? 1 of the guys from Custard is creator/Blueys dads voice I think. Great show actually even for adults. Only know a few of Custards songs as from memory they weren't around for too many yrs. Aussie rock 70's - 90's was amazing & everwhere, golden era 😂 No INXS though??
@@Jesso_21 Regurgutator I know of via my Aussie wife but not heard any of the music. Powderfinger I have never got into, loved Lost And Running and never got past that. Custard is completely new to me. Will add a few tracks on Spotify for all of these to check out. Maroons and Broncos, yes. More of a cricket fan, just back from a rare (these days) Brisbane Heat win. But England always if playing Australia in whatever sport :) Location, not too far from Yatala but closer to Tamborine. Sunshine Coast great too, we visit often for gigs and stuff. INXS? My blindspot, I've never got their appeal. Much like Bladerunner. I'm odd like that ;)
Couldn’t agree more, super tight, punchy, edgy and should have dominated on the world stage. Still love to crack a few tinnies, kick back and listen to these absolutely classic hits !! 👌
Should’ve dominated on the world stage??? Don’t be silly 😂
Eddie & Frank still play in a Brilliant Perth Band "Proud Mary" along with 2 equally talented Music Men,
Ryan Rafferty & Paul Cush
🎤🎸🥁🎸🎸
Lucky us West Aussies !!👍😊🇦🇺
Hey Suze B please do yourself a favour and check out Eddie and Frank in the Boys (Perth band) back in the early 80’s. They were on Countdown at the time and extremely underrated.
@@robertlucchesi2665 Hey Robert, yes thanks i know of "Baby Animals" music & my favourite song of theirs is "One Word" 👍😊
Haha my love of Creedence have seen me catch Proud Mary at the Northshore, the Wanneroo and at the Charles Hotel at least 4 times. They are awesome and try to catch them every time they bounce around, which is very often! :)
The best rock chick voice EVER! And a great band and song. Top 1000 Songs Of All Time.
The best song of ANY Australian band EVER !!!
YOU'RE WELCOME ☺️
2020 Glenelg Beach concert with Ice-house, James Reyne, Pete Murray and others. 💗in South Australia. 🌏
Can’t wait!! Going to the nsw one, I’ll get a refund on my qld one.
Still just an absolutely killer song. Love the bass flourishes, the locked-in groove, and damn... What can be said about Suze's amazing voice that hasn't been said elsewhere a million other places...
+Aaron Clow (AMC4x4) she's awesome….fyi….lady6…she's got an awesome voice also
Aaron Clow Who could possibly argue with that?
Probably the greatest debut album ever recorded - & just top-notch rock & roll!
Beautiful!!!!
Check out their new song TONIGHT. Incredible!
Suz you went overseas and found love and we lost you for many years. Half of the male population here in Aust appreciate your talent and you are the queen of OZ rock. Never doubt it girl we love you.
Love the riff ! Brings back so many memories, squishy feelings of being a teen in the nineties ....working my first ever job in a bakery and they smashed this song on the radio ♥️
Suze DeMarchi , wat a voice !!!
What about this girl nowadays?
👍👍 yes !
This girl has presence, showmanship and a shit load of pipes
Haven't heard this is probably 30 years and I still know the words
They opened for VAN HALEN and failed to rock the crowd.I rediscoverd them this year....love them.
The intro to sing song is just the best👍👍👍
I dunno. Their string of hits was flogged on the radio. I don't think anyone didn't know who they were. Saw them live just last year, still mindblowingly awesome.
Holy heck! Heard this in High School in the late 90s, loved it but didn't know the name of anything more. Heard it by chance in a shopping centre playing it today. They just don't make songs like this anymore
Saw them live in Newcastle, NSW back in the early 90s... kicked arse!!! Still one of my all-time favourite Aussie bands ever
Same here hey,epic!
Oh man, what a wicked intro riff. I remember being fully infatuated with her during uni😛
did well as a bass guitarist uncle eddie:)))) addicted to this song at the moment
Two words.. Baby animals.😘
Loved em as a young teenager, still love em now & turning 60, thank you for all these years of awesome music & great times !
one week to go in rocktober and it is time for some baby animals.
loved this band in the early 90s.....went and saw them with my mate barnesy in '92 or '93 at st. georges leagues club. everybody else was wearing leather jackets and the such like....i wore my cardigan. i never got beaten up though. pity there 2nd album wasnt as great as their first.
day 2776. only 3 hard boiled eggs and figs til 7.00pm tonight. ears till ringing.
Totally forgot about this band. Eddie trunk mentioned them on his Sirius radio show today
I totally agree. One of Australias most under-rated bands. Faultless music through and trhough AND Suz DeMarchi was pretty attractive for a girl of the early 90's :)
No they weren't, they were successful here scoring Arias and had success in the US. There is always one who wants to say someone is underrated on yt even when they're not.
This is a band that kicks ass like all day
And Susie is my life. .
One day I think just create onethèr time
Then maybe you could have spelled her name right🤪
I remember hearing Baby Animals back in the early 90s,this sound caught my ear and gave me chills,...they've been in my top 10 of favs ever since...these people friggin rock
I was Lucky enough to catch them at a smaller venue,,They Were AWESOME !
Makes me want to go to Australia.
Or as we say in Australia, Straya😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
One of the best bands I've heard in a long time. Totally well-played and creative. Wish I could go to a gig for the first time in years!
❤It was a great Aussie band,opened for Vah Halen,Suzy DE MARCHI,Great singer❤
Every Day 1 word❤❤❤
No question, Suze was and still is one of the great rocking chicks of all time or what. Hooah!! Whooshka!!!! 👌👌👌👌👌👌
One word / They Rock Baby
Suze undisputed Rock goddess Of Aussie Music One of the best rock tracks of Aussie music just too good ripper track
They recently got back together. I saw them perform at the Gold Coast 500 in Surfers Paradise in Oct? 2010. They sounded exactly like their records. It was great!!
This band and the Maybe Dolls are my favorites from the early nineties era and still sad/angry they didn't achieve the well deserved recognition owing to them for their superb musical contributions!!
Good times with this band. Brilliant album beginning to end. Managed to see them live too, and they rocked.
What a great little gem of a song! It’s been awhile since I’ve heard this 🇦🇺
Thank the Beard of Zeus for the You Tubes because I have been listening to this disc for damn near 20 years imagining what they look like playing.
She could have been inxs
Saw them at the Marquee Club London in 1991.
Excellent live band, got the T-Shirt
'Let go of my ears!'
(obscure reference there!)
I like the way how the music arrange from the start,,,,,.....beautiful song
I remember when there were the rumours Suze DeMarchi was going to be lead singer for INXS backing in 1997 after Hutchence's death..
pusc1f3r inxs should have called it quits after he died
sliat1981 true, INXS weren't the same after died...
@ezywalker Me too/
I miss this, her voice the sound, the only band i could find years ago was The Pretty Reckless they kinda have the same range but this is perfect, unpretentious hard rock.
In the late 1980s, DeMarchi dated Gavin Rossdale, former lead singer and guitarist for the band Bush. Bush's song "Comedown" from 1994's Sixteen Stone is about their relationship.... Wow didn't know that one. Awesome band! Great song.
I hear this and am immediately transported back to my 90s youth and summers in Straya. Soooo goood.
Still have their 2 albums❤
Freakin' love this song! Saw Suze the other month, acoustic and still rockin'. Love this band.
Awesome!!👍👍❤❤🖤😃😃Sept 2022
Fun fact
The song Glycerine by Bush is written for Suze Demarchi, the vocalist here.
These guys sound really good. Check out this band from down under Baby Animals.
they kicked butt
This band should have been huge
beautiful song, I love it
love this song and the lead singer
brilliant
Great song
Bravo Baby Animals excellent !!
💜
even if this song is way off the best songs in the world it will FOREVER be up there in the top best intros to a song!
love love love
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just joshing 😂ok
man if you were ever a motels , pretenders fan, buy this!
I was playing In Broome at the Roebuck Hotel, Dave Leslie came in and jammed..AND he taught me the intro for this song.

Thanks Mr Michael G & Mushroom music
Rock n roll at its best
I was about 7/8 years old when this song was on the radio, I remember it very very well, I also remember Rush You and Painless being pretty big songs, especially Painless, I love that song so much.
bird is the one word
One hug and I'd feel a whole lot .....
I know what you mean. 🤗
❤
These are Fantastic!!👍👍👍👍
And ... their new album "This is Not The End" has just been released. (31st of May 2013)
@DragonFire2876 Amen!..that intro gave me chills first time i heard it
when i was in year 2 at a school dance, i came second in a game of statues and got given this single as a prize i murdered it and i still love this song!!!
