Mainman been crying about Lars way before the patch, the den3 buff just gave him a good reason to put Lars on a pedestal. This video puts it in better perspective.
They can put back his Den3 to the way it was and Lars Main wont even bat an eye. Only the top 10% players (or maybe even less) are really complaining they cant sidestep den3 mixups anymore; and Lars main barely use it as an engage tool. The only time you really use it is if you want to close the gap, even then you lose to a lot of launchers or players who know basic footsies. TL;DR: Its not like DEN3 is a get out jail card, when its really just a 50/50 mixup setup which requires a setup on itself. There are more people with 50/50 mixups that MMS just glosses over.
I agree that not being able to sidestep is ridiculous and the mainman has valid points but tbh I remember a video he has from weeks before the patch , he talks about Lars DEN 3 had no counter play. But in this video he says before the patch there was counter play. So it just feels like he just hates Lars regardless 😅
Yh, it was kinda weird for him not to tell his viewers there was counterplay for DEN 3 back then, but now that its time to shit om lars after the update, he suddenly remembers to tell them. He probably really doesn't like lars, but that's okay cuz it's kinda funny to see him complaining about lars😂😂😂😂
No, TMM said there was counter play to the mix up after you block a DEN 3. He said the only counter to DEN 3 itself is power crush, but that has problems of its own and did not elaborate. My guess being that you have to react to DEN with a PC and not DEN 3 specifically, giving Lars insane power over you.
The topic of this video was Lars, which is why we are discussing Lars. If it were Azucena, Xiaoyu, or King, then we would focus on that. I don't find that simply saying, "but what about this other character?" is a good way to have a dialogue on the matter because then the Azucena players will say, "but what about Lars DEN 3?" Or King and Xiaoyu, and we just go in circles. I would have liked to have heard your opinion on why this change wasn't that bad or egregious in a bit more depth, or maybe even other ways in which they could have changed Lars.
context of how he fits into the game is important. Calling X a problem because he can do it, when 20 others in the game can also do it then that means its not an outlier and not a problem within the context of this game.
@@themacca277 just because a lot of people can do it doesn't mean it's not a problem. Homing grabs are objectively terrible for Tekken because it limits counterplay. And in the context of Lars, reducing his engaging mixup that could be option selected in multiple ways to "it's 50/50 take a guess" really dumbs down the gameplay and reduces the ability for people to counter. Also, in the context of the video, TMM wasn't complaining simply because the grab is homing, but also because the demon flip grab is incredibly evasive. It's too strong. The game is still pretty much brand new in the context of release but it has a lot of problems that need fixing.
Bruh, he literally agreed and said the move is broken and should be changed and maybe you didn't watch the whole video but tmm literally brought up other characters to dude put Lars on azu lvl of broken and over drag
Is really bad faith of you to say this when he clearly are mentioning other characters because Mainman put Lars over Drag and Azu as a example of bad design and whats wrong with Tekken 8 And this is just not true
Don’t forget that they nerf Lars from T7. We did begged them to buff Lars T7 but they never did 🤷🏻♂️. So now they finally buff Lars. That’s what we wanted.
I don’t like this approach to balancing or changing a move just because “well if he uses that move, it’ll always lose to Rage Art” which is true, but that’s only because you go into stance automatically. A better option would be gotta hold back to avoid going into stance JUST LIKE MANY OTHER Lars moves that go into stance or just get rid of the auto stance transition. I say this as a Lars player as well, is it a buff? Yea of course but I just don’t like this approach to buffing moves to make it into another “just take the mix up” situation like King where you literally have to stand or duck the throw, I hate that type of forced 50/50 situation that's already too much of it in T8, it's always guess mid or low that's it...
That would have been the best solution. They just wanted to make it easier for beginners so they don’t have to think about. They can just use the move whenever they want lmao I don’t agree with it as well.
@@KaizokuLars this whole for the sake of "accessibility" is really getting out of hand. Is Tekken trying to be like Smash Bros? or keep the game as Tekken....it's sad to see they're willing to gut the game and remove or change so many things that makes Tekken a "Tekken" game because they think it'll sell more copies. Maybe it could, or maybe not, but the depth and complexity are some of the MOST well known characteristics about Tekken, and part of the reason so many people love and stayed loyal to the game. But if they are willing to remove or change all that then....just what is this game becoming then? It's like McDonalds all of sudden not selling burgers and fries even though that's what everyone loves and go to McDonalds for.
@@shadowofthenorthstar989 thanks bruh. It’s just sad to see Tekken that we all know and love is losing its identity and just what made Tekken so special. Was it always a difficult game? Yes of course but it was so deep and intricate and had so many layers and complexity, which is one HUGE part of what made so many players become such loyal fans of the game. But the developers are trying to remove all that or change it to cater to bunch of casuals who have zero interest or even appreciation for it. Casuals buy the game to mess around and play the story mode and that’s about it, they honestly don’t care about the intricacies and have no intention of sweating hard af in rank, I’ve known quite a bit of legit casuals and common thing is, THEY DONT CARE to become the next Knee or Arslan. I’ve even tried many times to introduce then to higher level play and grinding but they have no interest in it, and that’s fine, that’s what casuals are. So what’s the point of totally gutting parts of Tekken that have no effect on casuals?
I think something people are not talking about is frames and application. As a reminder this move is i22 on top of DEN transition. This move is very strong as a homing + on block mid, but it is a slow move. It is not a move you spam in neutral. Now the move is best used in oki situations, but a getup kick can interrupt it. Lars might be annoying to play against, but in my opinion he is not overwhelming at all. Him having a strong move that you cannot sidestep should not be the end of world, apart from DEN 3 he has no real pressure tools.
I have to agree his other frames are not that good, in neutral against opponents who watch what u do he has to rely on whiff punishment and on hit frametraps and orbital and risky lows, but he is a char with a hella good poking game u want to have huge plus frames when he can poke u to death if his movement is good and his frame knowlege is solid?
@@raphaelsemenka5512 Yes. Lars is more about mixups and mindgames. His neutral is decent, he doesn't have a lot of options for poking compared to some of the cast. But, his whiff and block punishment is S tier. The knockdowns get him going and his heat is pretty good. That's what I'm saying, Lars is not OP at all.
His poking is not good? He can poke from eeevery angle, d31, db13 are insanely fast low pokes df1 range has a high ranged compared to the cast. What du u exactly mean his poking is not good?
You are both correct in almost every way, but keep in mind your main point was that we should have the characters nerfed first when the main man never really said this was on the top of the list of priorities fixes. They just made this changed and he's pointing out that the logic behind the change isn't good
I agree that Lars is the least of people's concern, but the problem is that they are buffing a character that has good options and restricting players at higher level of being able to punish the move. But why are they buffing an already decent character when they should be nerfing the absolutely broken ones? That is the reason people are complaining about this, when TMM says they don't think about their changes, in reality, he is saying why are they buffing this annoying character with good options when people are complaining about those S tiers? At least that's how I see it.
Yeah and that’s a big problem. However complaining about Lars constantly won’t save the game. If people complain we should complain about top tiers first and then the other broken stuff. King also got buffed in the very first balance patch. There was no one complaining about that at least not on that level like this one. Obviously it wasn’t a big change like the DEN3 but King is definitely S Tier at the moment and got buffed for no reason. That was my point. Lars buff shouldn’t happen like that but before complaining about that 24/7 let’s get azucena and all the other characters nerfed first before they get more buffs lmao
@@KaizokuLarsidk where you’ve been for the past two months but people are complaining about the s tiers and broken moves/mechanics ALL THE TIME. this lars buff was just adding salt to the injury. that’s why it seems like it’s so blown out of proportion. we KNOW lars is the least of our concerns and that’s exactly why TMM made that video. because of all things they could’ve worked on, they decided to fix such a trivial issue on an already good character.
@@KaizokuLars Absolutely agree, especially when they nerfed harder/worse characters like Kazuya or when Leroy had "higher unintended damage". The current state of the game is unstable/inconsistent, and the changes they have made have had unintended consequences. I just pray the next big patch is more nerfs than buffs, because people are thinking they will buff the lower tier characters and we'll have another Lars whining situation all over again with multiple characters. I find that most characters are in a good enough state to not need much changing. We just need the devs to hear that buffs isn't what the game needs right now! Except maybe buff Law, D tier character! Lmao
@@rovermakoto I get that even after watching it the first time. But it’s too much against that one change. I am not saying having that opinion is wrong I am also saying the Lars players downplaying the character too much as well. But this is still not the right way to save the game. People were complaining about top tier characters yes but they forget about some things and go at Lars when he gets buffs. King got buffed in the first patch. Were people complaining about that one? Just a little bit but not even close to the level like this one. This video was also not only because of Tmms video it was just in general cause I saw it everywhere on twitter, twitch, discord severs everyone was talking about it and asking me about my opinion. So when I say it’s too much I mean everyone who is talking about it.
Exactly this is just one option as opposed to the S tiers that. Basically Molly whop the whole cast it’s just crazy to think how much hate this character gets.
Hi Kaizoku, great point, I was just talking to my friend and you said the same words as me in your video, this buff to Lars is wrong but there are characters with worse tools and they didn't do this hating, you're a great player
If they will nerf DE3, they should allow lars players to cancel SE by pressing up, because if you press UP, just like you can do with DE, because if you press DOWN, you will transition into LE, imagine doing df2 to SE and cancel into mixup, not only this makes lars more viable and balanced, but you have the option to not commit and get hit by the rage art. And if it's possible, return Lars CH properties, like his db2,3 ch launch and his db1+2 ch launch. With this in mind, we can still refer to mind games and playing tekken as a 3d game. Is lars gonna go db2 to SE and commit or cancel? Or db2,3 to aim for a ch launch? With this we can imagine lars as a much more threatening character when the player can fully utilize these options, while not being too broken where the opponent is left with no options. In my opinion, moves like while standing 2,1 ch should return as to remind players that lars should be respected in the neutral as well. This can make ws2 mixups can be more interesting as a whole, while not completely removing all the options the opponent has. One more thing that I can add is allow more moves from lars to transition into stances, just like his b2,1 and b2, 3, imagine if all of this can transition into DE or SE at will. That would be insane! Of course you can punish it for players who just use it without thinking it through, but if the move lands, it can guarantee a mixup or even after lars' b2,1 ch launch to continue into combo. One thing that bothers me, is lars' ff3+4, it feels seemingly useless, why give him that move in the first place when it has no ch launch and launch punishable on block?? Do you expect me to use a launch punishable low as a poke?? Like in what situation should i use that? Characters like Lili or Nina(not sure with nina) has the same move, but guarantees something on ch, but Lars has nothing, are you serious? If not a launch, atleast give me a knockdown to reward me for taking a risk for throwing a slow launch punishable low. Regarding lars' demon flip, i feel like they should just weaken the grab's tracking, other than that, the rest should remain the same. So if you made it this far into my long comment, Sorry making it too long and Thank you for reading the entire thing if you did so, i appreciate it. Keep up the good work KaizokuLars! If you are up to it, you can talk about move property changes just like i mentioned above, that would be a nice topic to speculate about! Cheers! Lars players unite!
This are all changes that could be made but that would make the character more complicated to learn and use for the player too. The ff3+4 ch launch would be nice but we have db4 for it I also almost never use ff3+4 it’s useless at this point. To be honest he was fine the way he was before the patch. They could have nerfed the evasiveness on u3+4,4 but other than that he was strong already. We just need top tiers to get nerfed and that’s it. They change from Tekken 7 Lars to Tekken 8 was very good.
The frustrations trickle down to lower levels just because the lower level player can't articulate or point out why they can still get frustrated for the same thing. If a green rank trying to learn the game runs into lars DEN3 spam. Labs it and can't figure it out then asks "how do you deal with this" and people tell him to eat the block and then coin flip they're going to feel very bad and possibly just as frustrated as the pro. I think they should leave all the mid and low tiers alone for a while until top tiers have settled down with a couple nerfs. Tekken team needs to realize having a niche move or tool in someones kit isn't bad. Also just because other stuff is broken doesn't mean lars should get a pass. They aren't a small team and Tekken ain't niche game, it competes with SF and MK just fine.
Homing grabs is indeed stupid, and a problem with the game. But making Lars' den 3 a +5 move so he doesn't lose to RA on the next interaction is just completely stupid and brain dead. Have you ever thought about NOT using the move when the opponent has RA, and finishing your turn with something else that doesn't transition into another stance like den 1 or den 2 ? That's fundamentals 101... "I should not put myself in a position where I'm gonna next lose to an X move no matter what."
I was watching that video and to me it just felt like he didn’t like the character for most of the video. Not to say he didn’t have valid points just there are already characters that do everything he complained about better.
I believe what he's saying is that all of the characters with broken moves need to be nerfed so that these bullshit 50/50s with no counter play don't exist. I don't believe he's saying only Lars needs to be nerfed but simply showing off that now he too is now just as much of a problem as they are. We all know azucena, dragunov, ling , Jun, devil Jin in heat, king, Feng, etc need to get nerfed already, and now with them taking away his option for defense on a good read. Same with other characters who aren't necessarily top tier like Alisa who has absolutely horrendous 50/50s especially in heat and it's cancer to play against. All that shit needs to get tuned down from all those characters to bring things in line with the rest of the cast to where everybody has counter play. Sure some options will inevitably be better than others sure but at least we'll be able to play proper tekken with the right knowledge
The problem with jabbing against DEN 3 is that Lars can kill you for it with DEN 12. There is no direct counterplay because jabs are eliminated by an option that high crushes them, is safe on block and even jailing. Yes you dont DIE instantly getting hit by it, but there is 0 risk for Lars choosing EITHER option. I hate to agree with TMM, but there is no counterplay in so far that even doing jabs or not doing them is a 50/50 that is in Lars' advantage. The whole point of counterplay in the first place is to avoid nasty 50/50's that are granted too easily.
DEN is a very shocking stance for many players. No one expects a character to zip in their face in neutral. They freeze up and no DEN3 can do it's magic. This change was surprising, but I main Lars and I'm gonna take full advantage. No complaints or negativity
Homing throws are homing throws. Other characters have command throws and not only one 1+2. It is dumb of course but they have to change homing throws in general to make it less cancer again.
@KaizokuLars alright, I will test it. Even then, Lars can't be hit in that stance by pretty much everything so he shouldn't have homing throws in it when side walking pre-emptively is the only logical counterplay
@@BullC6 Well as I said all throws are homing. I agree it shouldn’t be homing at all but not only that jump throw. No throw in this game should be homing.
Great point regarding the current state of Lars. Obviously den 3 didn’t need that buff considering options available once Lars went into sen but he is definitely not S-tier broken character, he is more a like a frame trapper which relies heavily on good timing for big launches or knockdowns. Great hearing from you Kaizoku 🫡
Having the ability to jab him out of dynamic entry 3 or "react" to the low, that isn't counterplay. It's just reaction speed check the mini game or jab spam, lets hope i dont get hit by a high crush counter hit launcher the mini game.
Let me guess. You prefer getting hit by 16f ranged mid by a certain character or even an unseenable hellsweep launcher. Let me take another guess, you haven't considered the startup frames of DEN, and the actual 22f startup of the jumping mid kick of Lars.
@@GrownManPat depends on the start up frames, in this instance it's borderline unreactable at 17 start up (most would say that it isn't reactable at all). So it's like, when you're saying the counterplay is to react to a move that isn't reactable I have to call that into question.
@@anangryscorpion5838 But that is not what your original comment says. You made the point that HAVING the ability to react to a move isn't counterplay. I just disagree with that specific point. You elaborated more and we now have clarity. ❤️
The main point is this buff highlights the mentality of the developers, and this decision should be a big red flag if you were hoping they would be adding a bit more Tekken in our Tekken game come May.
Can't we just backdash after blocking his dynamic entry and whiff punish ? I don't see any reason why we can't, the options don't have that much reach. Except if we don't have the time 'cause of too many block recovery frames, backdash whiff punish look to be the safest and easiest option.
Many people don't want homing grabs either. King and Dragunov have been one of the biggest complaints since day 1 so I don't why people use this in arguments.
@@amitypredator9385yeah, it's weird to me that people think looking at problematic stuff on other characters cannot coincide with nerfing top tier characters. Even Kaizokulars admits that the move change was unnecessary and made it extremely strong, but then his argument is that there are other stronger stuff. It's not like reverting the Lars buff would mean that they won't be able to nerf top tiers. They could just as easily do both. Yeah I don't agree with mainman saying Lars is the prime example of bad design, but den3 is too strong and thats that. Kaizoku fails to mention that mainman doesn't just complain about Lars. He whines about EVERYONE, all of the top tiers included, which is weird to me how it sounds like he is implying that mainman is focusing on Lars too much. Mainman just bitches about everyone, it just so happens that its Lars right now. I do agree though with kaizoku that it isn't a priority change at all. We should let it sit for a while in order to get more data, as it isnt SO terribly oppressive that it would require changes NOW, which mainman seems to imply with the vid. So eh.
So every lars main’s argument just comes down to whataboutism, just because something else is dumb in the game doesn’t mean that this dumb thing should remain
Just a thing, i dont think you can react to the low (SEN 2), but you can fuzzy guard/lowparry it tho IF the lars doesnt delay the mid from SEN you mixing it with which is different from "react". You can react to kings RKO during jaguar sprint which is 23f and it requires really good reaction tho. I dont think lars is broken but they made DEN 3 DUMB indeed. Its good to see a godlike lars as you being honest and calling things as they are.
"After nerfing Lars...can we have fun playing ranked again ?" That one hurts because it reminds you how unfun the ranked experience is and that A LOT needs to happen before we can enjoy our favorite game again ( more often ).
i think most of the lars complaints are more about the direction the game is going in than lars himself. everyone has been complaining ab azu feng and drag etc or the nerfs that take out creativity and skill in combos but this lars buff was just like yeah namco doesnt give af ab keeping the heart of tekken at the forefront of balancing the game and is the posterboy for this TYPE of design change bc of how playing against him feels
You can't jab lars out. In Theory ? Sure. Just do 2 recordings one with sushi 3 and a different attack out of sushi and see if you can jab him out on reaction. The fact is lars is crushing high during almost the entirety of f3f AND on the startup of Sushi 3
The chances of crushing a high when doing f3 is incredibly low in a real match..... F3 and then DEN3 is incredibly slow and no he will not crush highs while going into it.
@@scarnovak5298 I main Lars LOL, I been playing him since Tekken 6. Anyway, all good. No value in arguing an impractical theory. Look forward to your worthless reply. Good day ❤️
11:18 I've had the same experience even tho I do extremely well and did extremely well in tekken 7 against these characters but I think it's bc there's a lot more forced character interaction and just a take a guess factor so no amount of skill will help u
Remember guys. These are all TMM's opinion so we can agree or disagree. If he only know how boned we are back in T7 in order to deal with High level characters with Lars.
What do you mean he’s not controlling the neutral? You cannot do anything if that entry first kick lands on block. You are in a mixup it’s broken. You cannot do anything. And btw he’s talking abt lars because he was buffed on purpose after 2 months of game. That’s crazy.
@@atn9872You guys are ignoring he's completely interrupteable in it's setup and punisheable if it whiffs. It's not a "no read free mixup" The lars is just spacing it properly without you even knowing what spacing means.
@@azureflow9972 It isn't going to whiff, the DEN gives it huge range. As for jabbing it on reaction, well, do that once then the next time you get CH by DEN 2 for 75+ HP.
@@LegendaryPlank Either A Lars is right in front of you and you can interrupt it by pressing any mid. B Lars is far away from you, whiffs and goes into SEN or C Lars properly spaced it to hit you wich you could have easily prevented. Also your scenario doesn't add up either. Lars is completely interrupteable in DEN just do any whiff punish. If DEN is being used from a distance it's easy to press a heat engager and get a full combo out of it.
I think it's time we enter our super villain arc and tell people to shut up and guess. Its not like the rest if the game doesnt make you do that as well
If it's broken, broken compared to what? Whats the standard? Fengs pokes? His rising knee that you can't do anything after? His lows that are still the best in the game? His jumping heat kick? Drags +frames on everything? Jin's D2 that you cant see but it launches and cant be launched? Jins free transition into stance after F4 and then his armor move thats goes into heat? His uppercut that comes out instantly for a launch? Jun's everything? Devil jins everything?Get my point? There are so many strong moves and overall s-tier characters in this game that a lower tier character with a good move doesnt need to be nerfed. The move is absolutely fine and namco made the right choice. He's simply frustrated with a matchup. Thats the challenge of games. Theres suppose to be a challenge. It forces you to THINK and be smarter on defense. Tekken 8 has defense, you just have to learn new things and adapt your defense. Lastly, there are characters that annoy me but when I put my discomfort with the character that I'm facing aside and really focus and I know my options against them because I've practiced against them, the results are immediately apparrent. I suggest all players do the same.
This change is absolutely not right in my opinion and also not the right way. But they don’t want to nerf the broken characters otherwise beginners and low level players will struggle more to win. That’s the reason they give everyone this type of stuff.
@@KaizokuLars that's my point though. If everyone has broken moves and you take a lower tier characters good move away, you leave him tremendously handicap. From that perspective and in my opinion, because of the things he has to face, it is a great change.
The fact you mentioned Jin is crazy, most of the time it’s us Jin players blocking all of everyone else’s broken ass moves, people predict the D2, people poke the shit out of us Jin players in zen stance, STOP THE CAP. Also side note: I’m glad Lars players have something to defend and mix up the opponent now, if every character is strong in their own way, is that really a problem?
The problem here is that MainMan is a content creator. He is not a pro player, just a player who has been playing Tekken for many years. Naturally, his view of the game is not professional; he just needs a new source of income to produce his daily content. Before, Jun, Azucena, Asuka etc. and now it's Lars' turn. Tomorrow he'll be whining about some movements of another character. I don't think this video should be taken too seriously. But what I don't understand is, if they whine so much, why are they still playing this game? For MainMan, this is a necessity, there is no other way to make money. What about the clown community that supports him without any knowledge? I have never seen any other platform that cried so much about this game other than Reddit. In fact, I think MainMan aims to surpass Reddit... I follow the channels of many content creators or professional players, and I have never come across a person crying at every character on the game. Anakin, PhiDX and your channel are among the channels I enjoy following, and none of you are crying for any character, and that's as it should be. This is the game, this is the characters, of course there will be minor balance changes, but people need to accept all these as they are. The same things happened in SF6 and are still happening...
please god dont think " if you complain about something just quit the game" is a valid view point. its called constructive criticism and if u think a game could be good without any negative opinions about something bro idk. literally no game is good without feedback from the community
The point here is not to talk about anything, MainMan is crying about everything, everything. If you are bothered by everything about a game, it means that game does not satisfy you. Of course, criticizing something logically is a different matter. On the other hand, listening to everyone doesn't help game development. On the contrary, this is something much worse. For example, Call of Duty... the series has become such a disgrace because "casual" players are taken into consideration. Situations that cause general discomfort and obvious problems must of course be corrected. On the other hand, I could whine about dozens of different characters for Tekken 8, but that wouldn't be the right thing to do. It's not acceptable for everyone to think they're a game developer, because they're not. If I thought people had the right to constantly interfere with things in games, I should be the one to do it in the first place. I am 34 years old and I have been playing games for as long as I can remember and I still do. I am not just a Tekken player, I am a person who enjoys playing all AA and AAA productions. In every game I play, there are many things I don't like and find lacking, but most of these are design choices. For example, some people are not happy with the Heat system in Tekken 8, but this will never change. Just like SF6's Drive systems. These are design choices and even if minor changes are made, the overall structure will never change. So it's a simple thing for MainMan or similar people to constantly whine about something. If this is our goal, we can constantly find dozens of things, but none of them will be taken into account by the developers. Does Lars have any powerful moves? Yes there is. On the other hand, every character in the game has powerful moves, and in my opinion, all of them should be removed from the game. But this game has this structure and will stay like this. If you want to enjoy it, you have to accept it that way. Otherwise, every match, every day, something will disturb you and you will get mad at the game you play for fun.
@@dazelya “none of them will be taken into account” literally fixed the horrible change making azucenas wr impossible to punish, and Phidx literally has 3 patch videos whining about the changes 😭😭😭
Ngl people literally don’t even know the MU in the first place. But we can’t be seriously upset about Lars when there’s at minimum 7-9 characters better than Lars. Either they buff other lower tier characters or nerf alot of characters along with Lars.
Why was Lars getting option selected by a universal mechanic one time per round a bad thing? Cant people rage art mist 50/50s? Can people not rage art kazuya 50/50 or king jaguar sprint, i dont see why it was necessary?
Even if Lars get nerfed even if remove totally den 3 the players would being crying and sucking against Lars because they never take 2 minutes to try to learn the matchup, same as with bears. This is not a character problem, this is a lazy and weak behavior problem, and so many Tekken players have.
Just make den3 a high attack. Problem solved. You can duck and punish. Because at the moment it's stupid that a mid attack that has homing is + on block...so you can do absolutely nothing about it
Homing throws are a problem in this game yeah, its not just Lars's one. But why dafuk can he turn 90° in the air like that ? It doesn't make sens. Even Akuma couldn't do this if memory is good For homing throws personnally i don't think its a big problem if the homing range is reasonnable and make sens with the animation (which is totally not the case here XD), like a 30° tracking both side at max in general is a good thing in my eyes. But this one, come on Namco, what where you thinking ? Is he the last air bender or something ?
I don't understand why so many players have a problem with "unreactable attacks". Because first of all: there is no such thing as an unreactable attack specially in Tekken. Blocking and step/dashing are reactions. In Tekken movement is a core element of the gameplay more than in any other FGC games, so why the f* you guys don't count them as reaction what they clearly are ??? And don't tell me they are unreactable because too fast. The fastest move in this game is 10f unlike almost all the 2d fighters where its 3f. So either its "unreactable" because its not possible to do anything to at least defend, which is only possible because you are in frame disadvantage. In neutral a true unreactable move is impossible, it just doesn't exist. Stop calling move unreactable when they are simply: not counterable, because its what they are. And Tekken is a game of read because its made so the defender has multiple options, so why is it a problem to begin with ?
I get your answers about this and I like how you accept that TMM is correct in some points, he is just taking too far using Lars as an example, but all mains of a character will say anything to defend his character, TMM is a Kaz player so he defends Kaz, you are a Lars player so you defend Lars, and you mention for example Xiaoyu and how she is a true problem, but then see how the Xiaouyu community reacts when someone says that character is broken...
So real talk. Lars is not that good. He's easy to play and annoying to play against, but it's mostly for show with his terrible frames (as they should be because he's not a close range fighter, but a midrange built around shifting gears in a flash). The exception are his stances, that have actual broken moves. But DEN specifically had the worst ones and also the worst transitions with only his hellsweep being positive but not even enough for a free DEN 3. DEN 3 is actually well designed since it forces a response to a stance built around a ch mid with no decent lows or throws. Literally a single situation that cannot be easily option selected with the laziest ss ever and people start complaining lmao. DEN 3 might be a slightly overtuned atm, but definitely not as much as people complain. Learn the match-up and launch the transition. It really is that simple. If Lars transitions to DEN repeatedly in your face without getting launched, you're the monkey. But on a side note: why does he have the longest range hopkick in the game now? xD
I understand what you are saying but the thing is we have broken characters and doing that to lars is making the game worse. Especially that I like lars on this game and this buff makes me mad bc the move was actually design to be strong but not broken like that. Now it’s just straight up bs, the excuse about the RA is so bad I don’t even know what to say. Watch they did is going into the direction of azu, drag, fang or xiaoyu with lars. That is bad game design. I really hope they nerf top 10 and remove lars buff. We are right to complain about bad buffs to match the top tiers. That makes me very worried about the future of the game. After 2 months they decided to give lars homing full screen heat engager into another heat engager without risks. Power crushes and backswing is way to specific and not enough.
Tmm hated top tier lars in ttt2 and cried about him all the time. But he suddenly loved bottom shit tier lars in t7 since he wasn't a threat and somewhat more of a meme. But now that Lars is back to the top (not even s tier), he starts hating him all over again. Clear as day he just likes Charakters He can Beat.
Most of the response in this video have been "Yeah he's right but these moves are broken but...." and most of the counter argument to what people are saying about Lars is, "well the other characters are over tuned and have broken moves too!" Yeah, and other people, TMM specifically, have done videos complaining about Azucena, Dragunov, Alissa, King, and Feng as well. So did people even watch those videos or did yall just see ONLY this Lars video and then kneejerk respond that "Oh why are you crying about Lars when the other characters are broken too?"
Brother look at who you named lmao. Lars get's +2 frames on a single move that was already +3 poB and all of a sudden he deserves to be put in the same category as Azucena, Dragonuv and King??? My issue with is how people are highlighting the benefits of that move but ignoring what the downsides are and how bad the rest of the kit is. It's a +30 frame startup move that gives +5 on block. Mind you it's one of his only poB moves, aside from jab and heat moves. He only has DEN1 which is a 20 frame start up move and and FFF3 which is sidesteppeable (and needs you to FFF). Not one of them mentions how he doesn't have a any low launchers or even a single true mixup EXCEPT the one that's +30 frames to startup. They don't even mention that the it only leads to 25 dmg if you clicked the wrong 50/50. Put this into perspective with every other Mishimas who can wavedash you into a 50/50 continuously for more dmg. So yes, we are going to talk about the options other characters have as a counter-argument because : 1. The move is not really changing the how Lars is going to be played, because it's still locked behind stance. 2. Lars doesn't have anything to truly pressure with except dancing around and hoping the the opponent gets confused in to clicking the wrong button.
@@omnicloudv7 Yup dancing around in LEN only works on people that don't know the lars match up lmao. Shouldn't have wasted my time explaining this to someone who probably doesn't even know what LEN is but feels fine slandering a character without understanding them.
@@azureflow9972Kaizo doesn't even agree with you and he plays the character. Even says in the video that TMM's assessment isn't wrong. His only retort being "What about the other characters?" Slandering? Go outside homie, it's a character and not a real person. Lmao.
@@omnicloudv7 Yeah the elevator won't fully go up in your head LMAO. I'll help you since you apparently lack reading comprehension I never said the move isn't broken, I said this buff literally doesn't matter to Lars, because it doesn't fix anything in his kit and that TMM and every Lars hater is not mentioning the downsides of DEN3. Since you want to bring up Kaizoku literally just watch how he plays and you'll see DEN3 is rarely being used by him BECAUSE it's +30 frames on startup. Just watch his match against King in the thumbnail he used it 3x in 6 rounds to get at MOST 50 dmg. You're literally looking at a 40min video stating the downsides. "Even says in the video TMM's assesment isn't wrong" Kaizoku is LITERALLY disagreeing with TMM about Lars being the epitome of poor gamedesign in T8. Why? Because : 1. All the shit I mentioned that pushes Lars away from being S tier. 2. The option literally every character has that put you into a 50/50 situation like mishima's wavedashing. Even TMM acknowledges that Lars isn't top tier by any means in his vid, but won't elaborate which leads to peanutheads claiming Lars is busted because a i30 move got buffed. Hence "Slander" The only thing they agree on is that it should be sidesteppeable which really wouldn't matter to Lars because it's already a risky i30 move. To put it into perspective Yoshi has a unblockable i30 low which leads into a full combo and can be used against Oki. Hence why it's IMPORTANT to look at other characters, because i'm sure TMM didn't make a 10 min video covering that Yoshi move. I need you to either bring up facts or be quiet, by the way you respond it looks like you have 0 idea what you're talking about when it comes to Lars which is why you won't go any further into what I said. Instead you're only repeating what somebody else said. Keep our ish out you mouth and give ur own take based on what you know. Has DEN3 been mindlessly been spammed against you and left you helpless or are you just going off of what TMM said and take it as a fact when he won't even mention the downsides?
What’s is problem play without Lars in low range?.. His can’t enter to stance after hit on block! Just mash 13f mid, omg… Hwo has more movies for 50/50 situations… Every character has frame traps… Alisa chainsaw… Mishima vortex - 50/50 every time… Lars can’t do this shit of all times, guys 😊
That’s not completely true If you transition using den1 or df2 you go in at -3 and sen4 homing power crush will beat most 13f mids (like df1’s) and slower You can’t always jab because sen2 beats highs You can’t always down jab because sen3+4 beats lows You can’t always side step into duck because all the mids are stepped to the right I think except for sen3+4 which can be stepped left but needs to be walked right. If you walk sen3+4 right you’ll get hit by sen4 cuz it’s homing and if you step it left some of the other mids will hit. So even on block this mixup isn’t fake From most of his other transition moves like db2 and ws2 you can’t really mix like this but df2 is 14f with good range and den1 is basically full screen
100% Lars is not an issue, however coin flip situations should not be accessible, they should be earned. Tekken 8 is a lot more aggressive focused and easy 50/50s are the result of heat. I’m not sure on the solution at this moment but giving everyone a forced 50/50 is not something that should be encouraged IMO. Fundamentally Tekken 8 promotes more unga bunga, it just becomes somewhat toxic. There is a lot that needs to be reviewed ultimately, but top tiers need nerfing first before Lars tho lol, good video bro.
Firstly, I agree on the last part that youve said. But Lars isnt just the character with 50/50s in this game. If you take this 50/50 away, make sure everyone else doesnt get 50/50s too. This DEN3 doesnt even put lars in high S tier let alone high A tier, so I dont get why MMS is crying about it. If hes gonna cry about this one, he should cry about the other unfair 50/50s that doesnt require more setup than DEN3
@@sp00kdagul I mean he has definitely complained about Ling, Drag, Azucena, Feng etc. watch his vids honestly. His point here is not that bad but yes he could definitely change his tone and consider all the other bullshit in the game.
@@emranali097 I know man, I actually follow MMS. But this is like a rare occasion where he made a targeted video on a couple of moves from a character that doesnt even put him in the STier category. I know his point might not be that the move is a terrible 50/50 game design; but I wished he included other characters as well if that was his intent. Otherwise it just looks like hes making the community target hate Lars, which I feel is undeserved. Since the +5 frames on DE3 doesnt really matter to the 90pct of the playerbase and the headgrab can actually be countered easily by 1+2 since the flip animation to do it takes a reallly long time and youll have plenty of time to react on it.
@@sp00kdagul I feel you bro, thankfully the general consensus is hate towards the highest tiers int he game. Bamco only now just plan on fixing Azu wr32 in April emergency patch lmao. But yeah Lars should be safe from the hate conversations, people will learn to lab eventually and figure things out, I hope anyway. ✌🏽
An option select is something that takes away more than one of the opponents options. Since you could sidestep silent entry 1 after blocking DEN3 you could really take away 4 of his 6 options. When in rage you would beat all of his options. How is that fair? Its not. The buff was the right decision and namco did a fair thing. Especially when you consider the distance between the top tier characters and the rest of the cast. You put a character in a tier when you look at their overall strengths and weaknesses. He said that Lars ISN'T top tier. That lets you know that this is a frustration that he has and not that the character is broken. The buff still hasnt made the character S tier. This isn't something to be taken seriously.
@@nerooyeye2196 I understand that as well. The way I see it(and the way I see it is by no means the law or what others should think or feel. Just sharing my thoughts), now Lars has to cancel his offense in an offensive game and lose his turn or go to neutral all because he makes somebody have to think on defense in one situation where nothing is guaranteed to him. It's making him work harder than the other characters and at that point I feel like it'd be like how Lars was in T7 where I felt he had to work so much harder than the other characters. It'd just be a new game he's doing it in. Again, that's just my opinion.
@@RunningWild. Now that you explained it like that, I'm actually inclined to agree. If they intend to just start buffing every character in the game, then I think it's fine to leave the move like this. But I just don't want the game to go in that direction cuz it might just turn into "if everyone is broken the nobody is"
@@nerooyeye2196 I agree with you as well. I don't want it to go in that direction either. When I look at certain top tier characters though, I'm like I know good and damn well the devs knew what they were doing making Feng this cheap and he was just super tier in 7. So they either nerf the top tiers to make it fair for everyone or they buff the low tiers to make it fair. Lars is by no means top tier but he's a decent character. I see no reason to nerf him and I say that with no bias at all.
I completely disagree that DEN 3 is broken. Lars literary only has ONE four hit string and ONE three hit string. He has no string mix-ups, everything about Lars is his stance and he CANNOT block in any of his stances. People were hop-kicking him the moment he went into SEN, which led to full combos. Imagine being punished, FULLY, for just literary entering a stance, which is all you have. Also, like you said, after DEN 3, the low can be punished and the mid resets the neutral. The other options all have counter-play. I am sorry but I find those complaining about Lars to be hypocrites. They literary ignore Dragunov, Feng, Ling and chose to pick on him because they miss the days where he could be easily beaten. If Lars is really that strong, then, please main him and win tournaments. There is still intricate gameplay, please just try him and you will see he is not that easy.
You can play lars with no strings or stance just buttons and he would still be a good character. If you need a bunch of strings go play nina or something and have fun lmaoo. And no he doesnt get punished for “just going into stance” he goes into stance on hit and has enough plus frames to force a mix where you either guess right or wrong. The lars main in this vid admitted hes cancer to play against and you tryna make it seem like hes a bottom 5 character lmaoo
@@lou7980 I am really curious, what "Buttons" are you referring to. Please share how you will play Lars without his stances. Secondly, You clearly missed my point. Lars is a stance, mix-up character. He is my main which I enjoy. He does not need strings because of his stances. But you clearly have cracked the Lars code, so please share how you play without his stances. Thirdly, please rank tekken 7 lars. I am really curious. Because, when everyone agreed that Lars was one of the weakest, you must have told them to go push some buttons. Lastly, My opinion is as valid as any other. If you disagree, that is fine. But do not try and silence me by telling me not to disagree with other Lars Mains.
@@yourvenparianen5390 I actually thought about it but it will be tricky. Think about it. Lars already has two linear high DEN attacks. He also already has an armoured high SEN 4. Making DEN 3 high will make it pretty redundant and useless as the long start-up time means that it will be ducked very easily. If they increase the start-up frames, then making it high may work, but also means that Lars has no guaranteed pressure tool which other characters have plenty of.
@@mikeman3770 obviously no ones going to play him without using his stance genius my point was he has a bunch of good moves you can use without the stance… you literally sound like you have 0 neutral and just try to press f 3 and a bunch of non sense and complain “he easily gets hit out of stance lars sucks.” And yea i would trust the opinion of a lars player who wins tournaments and is at the top rank opinion more than a red rank lars like yourself
It's strange they buffed this in a patch with very few buffs, but it's really pathetic to see mainman just ragebaiting about Lars. I'm new to the series in Tekken 8 and I had a friend come into discord complaining about the Lars demon flip grab situation and Kazuya nerfs who didn't even know the demon flip throw situation is easily solved by just stand blocking and teching because mainman either deliberately didn't mention it, or didn't do the 2 seconds of due diligence to check for throw break. I don't even play lars much and think his Den3 situation should probably be a little more in the blockers favour but it's definitely toxic to attempt to persecute Lars players for having one strong tool when every character has strong tools atm which should be changed. Even as far as neutralskips go, Lars still has to take more risks than similar characters, as I see it.
@@GrownManPat I literally had the same reaction. It's almost like he wanted his viewers to hate lars as much as he does😂😂. It was also funny to me that before the patch, he was saying that DEN 3 didn't have counter play and only admitted that it had counterplay after they had buffed the move.
Pick kazuya and play him to the same lvl as lars. Its also about lars needs like 0 execution to play a solid game and stress his opponent. I mean tekken as we know it, is destroyed with tekken 8. Its straight up dissapointing what they do here. They want to make every char so good that he has something to lock u down completly if u get on offense. But thats not the right way to go. I like to play this charackter to but a movement mindgame with the defender is fair and its fair to complain about it when they remove it. He complais about the other bs chars way more btw.
Your argument is just saying there are more broken characters which is true but he’s not comparing them to other characters he’s just looking at Lars too get his point across that moves and sequences like what he is showing shouldn’t exist in a game called “Tekken”… Having a forced 50/50 and having no option select on a plus on block Mid That even crushes lows is absurd not saying Lars is broken but that sequence is definitely not “Tekken” like… imagine kazuya having a move that forces his 50/50 and u can’t option select by stepping left… at least you can step dragunov he just has more broken attacks to lock you to make you not want to try to step
But all throws are homing , not jsut for lars 🤣 mainman will always complaining abt somthing except for his kazuya , the hting is taht kazuya is still very strong and pro players been saying that kazuya might be better than Dj actualy on T8
You CANNOT react to dynamic entry 3. You cannot stuff it with a jab on reaction. From the moment the dash starts to the kick it is 22f startup. Even though you can see the move you cannot see it fast enough to get a 10f button out. Lets say general reaction time is 16f on a good day. You are only left with 6f until he's kicking your face and forcing his bullshit guessing game on you. It is STUPIDLY op. You cannot play passively against Lars at all you are going to get forced into 50/50's for free. No counter play other than playing super aggressive or guessing right.
No one said you can react to it. You can use a jab as keepout at that range. That was the point. It is extremely broken I said it as well. But there is something you can do against it. Other characters have a 50/50 you have to guess and even if you guess right there is almost 0 reward for you.
And no you don’t have to play super aggressive and guess right to win. If that would be the case I would lose way more often. And other players I know too who constantly beat Lars even after the patch. It’s just more annoying and more stressful to play him now.
I'm surprised some are taking the opinions of a non tournament TH-camr serious when he should be the least opinionated about this game as he's just a TH-camr at the end of the day. Lars is already not easy to play compared to others in the game. If Lars was an issue. He would be the top used character and he isn't.
In 7, Lars was one of the worst characters to play and one of the most cancerous to play… not play against, you can count on one hand the amount of high level tournaments he was used in or just any in general. Very risky character, easy to beat, Lars mains like myself suffered in ranked unless you were exceptionally great while with any other character you could be decent… now he’s fairly decent, not even S or A-tier like these cheaper Kings, Victors and Azucenas for example, simply playable now compared to his appearance in T7 and now he’s an issue because he finally got something cheap like every other character? Honestly, any buff is welcomed simply cuz he’s still lacking compared to practically everybody else again imo.🤣 Bruh, Drago wrecks him.
No we don't need to talk about lars. Lars is cheesy af and that's all that needs to be said. 'FraMe ThiS aNd FRaME tHAt. FraAaaAmEs'. To hell with your frames, they mean nothing
Honestly, no lars shouldnt have gotten the buff, however, if the top arent being nerfed, at least give the other characters a way to fight back. In that case, leave it be until the others are dialed down a bit.
This is exactly the bad mentality Bamco seems to share. Thats why we got so overbuffed cast and Tekken in ruins while pros are freaking out. Lets not EVEN THINK about buffs to already OP (even mid tier) chars. Lets just talk about nerfs of the worst offenders. It was actually so scary to hear Bamco intends to buff the mid/low tiers. This could be possibly the end of tekken or at least the end of the era of its success.
@pablotheimmortal6440 tekken has been around since 94', so it dying after 30 years ain't a bad thing its okay to get something new after the 10th release. The pros don't make up the majority of the ppl who play the game so why should it be tailored to their desires? If you and anyone else dont want to try something new, why not play the old tekkens? Tbh this is why new gen is getting nothin but remastered games bc yall don't care for change. And honestly alot of "pros" who have been playing tekken for that long want to be able to transfer skill every game and dominate the scene instead of learning like everyone else from the ground up.
@chishiu12 I only starter plating Tekken seriously with 7. Idgaf about winning tournaments or keeping things rhe same for 30 years or whatever. I care about a game that gives me options when I'm playing. And T8 is not that game at the moment, especially on the defensive end because of changes made to cater to this mysterious casual crowd that for some reason cares or even knows how to put them into action. The DEN3 change is clearly done to help new players not lose to rage art, but it's a change that benefits them for literally 10 percent of a match while it degenerates the defensive options of those who actually understand its deeper repercussions for the entire time. If changes like that are what's needed to cater to a casual audience then the tekken team can go kick rocks. You don't cater to a casual audience by enacting change which stifles the skill ceiling of your game. It's a terrible philosophy and reasoning, every time.
@@atn9872 If you say it like that then everyone is a part of a problem lmao every character has something dumb just for the fact that heat is too strong, homing throws are too strong and so on.
Mate, I like you. But your defence against Lars DE3 is lacklustre. Other characters are broken, yes, but it’s not an argument at all. 50/50s in the game exists, like you said, but you have to Earn them before you go for it. In earning it you get a chance to put your opponent in a true 50/50 situation. Lars just gets it, there’s not a neutral situation where Lars can’t DE3 unless he’s being pressured out of the roof. As soon as you give Lars a breath, he can DE3 into whatever he likes. Also, “low parry the low and you die”, what? In this game low parries give 40-50 damage at best, even less for some characters. You talked about Azucena sweep: it’s Azucena broken on other aspect, of course. But if she commits to the sweep and you block it, you launch her properly. Also to get the stance she at least “beat you” a bit in neutral. Drag univ is bullshit, yeah, but at least he managed to press a WR2 into your face without you stepping it. Is he even more broken then Lars when he got the mix up? Yes, absolutely. But that’s not the topic. The topic is: “DE3 Lars is a free mix up with basically no proper counter play unless you predict it and jab it or pull the trigger on the low parry afterwards.” That’s the issue. Btw I don’t like when TMM goes out of his way like this… but I suppose his anger is more about the design choice than the character itself. So Lars main, don’t take it too seriously. But understand the topic of discussion at least. Peace 🎉 @KaizokuLars
I hope you realise that he didn't defend the move. He literally said throughout the video that he doesn't agree with the buff to DEN 3 and that the move shouldn't be as strong as it is. But he also said that lars isn't the only character that people should be complaining about because there are more problematic characters in the game
“New low” ? tf ? That move was in T7 as well just that it was even easier to use cause you just pressed f4,2. Y’all just finding bs reasons to hate wtf
I've been waiting to hear your take on lars. I secretly hope they dont nerf him lol
Lars monkey flip throw has like a 500 frame break window
Mainman been crying about Lars way before the patch, the den3 buff just gave him a good reason to put Lars on a pedestal.
This video puts it in better perspective.
yep
Lars keeps ending his streaks
He's always crying
They can put back his Den3 to the way it was and Lars Main wont even bat an eye. Only the top 10% players (or maybe even less) are really complaining they cant sidestep den3 mixups anymore; and Lars main barely use it as an engage tool. The only time you really use it is if you want to close the gap, even then you lose to a lot of launchers or players who know basic footsies.
TL;DR: Its not like DEN3 is a get out jail card, when its really just a 50/50 mixup setup which requires a setup on itself. There are more people with 50/50 mixups that MMS just glosses over.
90% of casuals glaze main man so it just makes the Lars hate even worse
I agree that not being able to sidestep is ridiculous and the mainman has valid points but tbh I remember a video he has from weeks before the patch , he talks about Lars DEN 3 had no counter play. But in this video he says before the patch there was counter play. So it just feels like he just hates Lars regardless 😅
Totally fine if someone hates the character he is very cancer to play against 100%.
Yh, it was kinda weird for him not to tell his viewers there was counterplay for DEN 3 back then, but now that its time to shit om lars after the update, he suddenly remembers to tell them. He probably really doesn't like lars, but that's okay cuz it's kinda funny to see him complaining about lars😂😂😂😂
he has hated lars ahh since tekken 6 lol
^this.
Whataboutism solves nothing.
context of how he fits into the game is important.
Is really bad faith of you to say this when he clearly are mentioning other characters because Mainman put Lars over Drag and Azu as a example of bad design and whats wrong with Tekken 8
And this is just not true

This is too real. Honestly I think Lars should be the least of everyone’s concerns. He’s fine the way he is. :) keep up the good work Kaizoku.
Jesus Christ finally someone has done homework. I main Lars and for those that don't, have no idea lol
@@raphaelsemenka5512 Boy, no one here said anything about his poking not being good lol. You think D3,1 is a good poke? LOL!
You are both correct in almost every way, but keep in mind your main point was that we should have the characters nerfed first when the main man never really said this was on the top of the list of priorities fixes. They just made this changed and he's pointing out that the logic behind the change isn't good
33:50 "Hate the game, not the players"
Grabs sidetrack now, which is meh. Counter/punish throw window too sucks
Spoken like a true lion 🙌
Homing grabs is indeed stupid, and a problem with the game.
But making Lars' den 3 a +5 move so he doesn't lose to RA on the next interaction is just completely stupid and brain dead.
Have you ever thought about NOT using the move when the opponent has RA, and finishing your turn with something else that doesn't transition into another stance like den 1 or den 2 ? That's fundamentals 101...
"I should not put myself in a position where I'm gonna next lose to an X move no matter what."
Constantly dumbing the game down 🤣 I just started Lars today too. I just want my Anna and Julia to be this cheap like the rest of these characters.
THIS GUY GETS IT
@@NxstalgiczJulia? That cheap af character?
No really this is common sense 😅
Stay mad
I was watching that video and to me it just felt like he didn’t like the character for most of the video. Not to say he didn’t have valid points just there are already characters that do everything he complained about better.
Agreed.
TMM mentioned Lars DEN3 in his last 3 videos, i think we gona need a followup
Lars is one of my 2 main characters btw, so dont take this as me just hating on the character please
DEN is a very shocking stance for many players. No one expects a character to zip in their face in neutral. They freeze up and no DEN3 can do it's magic. This change was surprising, but I main Lars and I'm gonna take full advantage. No complaints or negativity
3:32 but the other homing throws aren't coming out of an akuma demon flip like jump you can't touch them in.
Homing throws are homing throws. Other characters have command throws and not only one 1+2. It is dumb of course but they have to change homing throws in general to make it less cancer again.
@@KaizokuLars Yes but I am pretty sure unbreakable throws of Reina aren't homing so your point is wrong my friend. Correct me if I am wrong.
@@BullC6 you are wrong.
Stunning example of low- you know.
He just mad because Lars gang been taking it to him. Lol
@@diStress-dz2qk I prefer to have counter play that's reliable, regardless of character.
How the fuck is stopping a move by reacting to it not counterplay?
I think his point was that it’s a very good example for the route. They’re taking right now, which is indefinitely changing the game to the worst.
Can't we just backdash after blocking his dynamic entry and whiff punish ? I don't see any reason why we can't, the options don't have that much reach. Except if we don't have the time 'cause of too many block recovery frames, backdash whiff punish look to be the safest and easiest option.
God forbid that out of all his gimmicks Lars actually has something that you have to respect they complaining about DEN3 like homing grabs don’t exist
Just because homing grabs exist doesn't mean Lars gets a free pass.
@@JamesMacdonald-iu3gpEverybody has Rage Arts which is a dumb mech so let's single out Lars his Rage art🤔
"After nerfing Lars...can we have fun playing ranked again ?"
That one hurts because it reminds you how unfun the ranked experience is and that A LOT needs to happen before we can enjoy our favorite game again ( more often ).
Mainman just cry that Lars got buffed 😂
i think most of the lars complaints are more about the direction the game is going in than lars himself. everyone has been complaining ab azu feng and drag etc or the nerfs that take out creativity and skill in combos but this lars buff was just like yeah namco doesnt give af ab keeping the heart of tekken at the forefront of balancing the game and is the posterboy for this TYPE of design change bc of how playing against him feels
Saw your grand finals against sephiblack. So intense good job

What do you mean he’s not controlling the neutral? You cannot do anything if that entry first kick lands on block. You are in a mixup it’s broken. You cannot do anything. And btw he’s talking abt lars because he was buffed on purpose after 2 months of game. That’s crazy.
I agree with this buff.
The devs seem to not respect the player base and think they can’t learn to cancel stances on some characters.
Won’t be surprised if they don't change it
correct me if I'm wrong but the gist I understand is: "Lars" problems are actually "universal game" problems.

Hey kaizako bro. How did your trip in Japan go?
From that perspective and in my opinion, because of the things he has to face, it is a great change.
if u cant react to jins d2 you might be below purple rank dawg cause everyone i go against easily reacts
@@Pooliom Whatever makes you feel better about my comment. I said a lot and you had one thing to nit pick. Have a great day poop!
Exactly, name one pro player that has complained about Lars being a problem? Lol, this gotta be a joke.
please god dont think " if you complain about something just quit the game" is a valid view point. its called constructive criticism and if u think a game could be good without any negative opinions about something bro idk. literally no game is good without feedback from the community
He is right though, you have to be in denial to think that this change makes the game better.

Even Akuma couldn't do this if memory is good
For homing throws personnally i don't think its a big problem if the homing range is reasonnable and make sens with the animation (which is totally not the case here XD), like a 30° tracking both side at max in general is a good thing in my eyes.
Yes den 3 is really good but it's extremely risky. And the damage is not huge
I was shocked how biased main man was being
As a lars main since 6, I don't give a damn and eat shit ya'll 😂
@kaizokulars you can mix den 3 with den 2 which crush the jab keep out high
Hey :)
Where I can find yours optimal combos?
I posted it it’s one of my first Tekken 8 videos just search it on my channel you will find it quickly :)
But on a side note: why does he have the longest range hopkick in the game now? xD
lars is dirt in this game and thats my main. homie has like 2 safe engages from neutral. i miss 2,1,3 and 2,1,4 from 7 no cap
Knee was right in that TMM is severely trash as Tekken
Very inept and unskilled
So yes, we are going to talk about the options other characters have as a counter-argument because :
1. The move is not really changing the how Lars is going to be played, because it's still locked behind stance.
2. Lars doesn't have anything to truly pressure with except dancing around and hoping the the opponent gets confused in to clicking the wrong button.
@azureflow9972 LOL LMAO even. Nothing to pressure anyone with. You win the internet for today!
His only retort being "What about the other characters?"
Slandering? Go outside homie, it's a character and not a real person. Lmao.
@@omnicloudv7 Yeah the elevator won't fully go up in your head LMAO. I'll help you since you apparently lack reading comprehension
I never said the move isn't broken, I said this buff literally doesn't matter to Lars, because it doesn't fix anything in his kit and that TMM and every Lars hater is not mentioning the downsides of DEN3.
"Even says in the video TMM's assesment isn't wrong"
Kaizoku is LITERALLY disagreeing with TMM about Lars being the epitome of poor gamedesign in T8. Why? Because :
Hence "Slander"
The only thing they agree on is that it should be sidesteppeable which really wouldn't matter to Lars because it's already a risky i30 move.
Downplays Lars by highlighting other top tiers that are also bullshit. “Nerfing lars won’t fix the game!” It would still make the game better
That’s not completely true
If you transition using den1 or df2 you go in at -3 and sen4 homing power crush will beat most 13f mids (like df1’s) and slower
You can’t always jab because sen2 beats highs
You can’t always down jab because sen3+4 beats lows
You can’t always side step into duck because all the mids are stepped to the right I think except for sen3+4 which can be stepped left but needs to be walked right.
If you walk sen3+4 right you’ll get hit by sen4 cuz it’s homing and if you step it left some of the other mids will hit.
So even on block this mixup isn’t fake
From most of his other transition moves like db2 and ws2 you can’t really mix like this but df2 is 14f with good range and den1 is basically full screen
I hate Lars. I hate his Tkkn8 moveset. But I like you, SCHLAAAAND all the way!
Congrats on winning the EVO Japan Ticket.
I say fuckem haha Lars SUPREMACY
I agree with you to some extent, but I feel like they could have also just made it so that lars can choose not to go into stance after DEN 3
@@RunningWild. Well, I pretty much agree with what you've said. Let's just see where they take the games balance from here
if i would be a lars main i would also defend the buff ngl haha😂
But he didn’t defend the buff he said it should be a thing it was fina before the buff
Yall might thing this is wild but my coach his is pretty big named actually thinks Lars is fun to go against
Mainman is just mad the one Swedish character is a weeb.
Lars has the weakest strings, but has strong combos.
Make den 3 a high attack . Problem solved
He really made it sound like demon flip was a mix up😂
@@nerooyeye2196 RIGHT?! TMM was bugging. I main Lars and I said "no one mixes up with flip, shut up"
@@GrownManPat I literally had the same reaction.
What controller are you using?
This is HORRIBLE game design
"He sounds mad about it"
Well yeah, rightly so
In 7, Lars was one of the worst characters to play and one of the most cancerous to play… not play against, you can count on one hand the amount of high level tournaments he was used in or just any in general.
I like that the throws track tbh
of course you do, but wait till marduk has all his throws homing you gonna be crying

Bushin detected, opinion rejected
The commumity just pure cringe crying bout lars but not the others
yea Lars DEN3 is bull but idgaf when cheap characters like King and Drag exist get these guys first before touchin him
Thank you haha that was my point
Yeah so you guys are just part of problem. Tekken 8 deserve to collapse by itself with that type of mentality.

@@atn9872I'm just saying they should get the characters with 10 broken moves than a character with 1
Mate, I like you.

@KaizokuLars nah I mean with all his points, you said a couple of times at the start that you didn't think certain things were an issue etc.
