When Babymetal first started, Su have the pigtails, while Moa and Yui were in ponytails. They switched hair fashion ever since IDZ. Lol And yes, Yui tend to slip out some "words" sometimes during interviews. Lol
Love twin-tail Su-metal ! :-) 5:25 the "Japan, Japan, Japan" is actually more clever than many would expect. It's actually an X-Japan reference. At an X-Japan show at Tokyo Dome they had an intro with an announcement with a sort of echo: "X-Japan. Japan. Japan..." yes, it's a pretty obscure fact. :-) But Babymetal also used it years later at Budokan Black Night at the end of their announcement saying they are going on a world Tour and leaving..."Japan, Japan.Japan." :-) The Fox God is a sly fox ! lol, the commandments is just something some fans on r/Babymetal on Reddit came up with. And it has references too: "Thou shalt recognize Thine Destinies are always on thy side therefore thou art guys amazing". The always on your side is from an intro or outro video at a show. The "You Are Guys Amazing" is what Su-metal said at the end of the Wembley Arena show. It's the Queen's English !

My take: Baby Metal - they are theater rock/metal beyond anything Alice Cooper did - 3 girl singers, 5-6 male metal musicians, various stage engineers, etc., and what you see is the band performing and interacting with the crowd singing, acting, dancing.
My favorite part of "The Fox God's Commandments": "For the Fox God so loved the world that he gave us BABYMETAL, that whoever headbangs to them shall not be bullied but shall have eternal joy. For the Fox God did not send BABYMETAL into the world to condemn metal but that the World of Metal be saved through them."🦊🤘
At 6:38 of second clip, Yui said "What the hell are they? ", and LVT was surprised. However, "Nannjya Korya (何じゃ、こりゃ)" is a key sentence to understand BABYMETAL. This phrase is originally from a Japanese TV detective drama, "Taiyou ni Hoero (太陽にほえろ)" in the 70's. It was very popular at that time. Detective Shibata, played by Yuusaku Matsuda, saw his blood and shouted "What the hell is this!" when he was shot by a gun and was killed. this phrase became famous after that. At 2:23 of first clip, Moa has said a same phrase in Japanese, but English translation is just "What are they?", right? In the case of BABYMETAL, I think it means "I have never watch before what the hell this is."

What Moa* said translated as "what the hell is this" (nanja korya 何じゃこりゃあ) is a rough translation and a fairly commonly phrase used to describe BABYMETAL. You could substitute it for "what in the world is this", or even "WTF" if you want - the intent is fairly similar. But yeah, in Japanese, it's sort of the equivalent of WTF, in that "WTF" isn't really a swear?
That was a lot of fun. I've never seen the Kawaii girl Japan interviews - cuteness overload and sooo funny. I especially laughed at Moa's remark about headbanging, and having to walk like a robot the day after. :-)

Babymetal is always trying to get new fans to say "Nanja korya?!" It's just a really casual, slangy version of "Nani korewa?" which means "What is this?" So it can be translated as "What is this?", "what the heck is this?", "what the hell is this?". I've even heard it translated as "What the fuck is this?" a couple times when it was said by, like, a tatted up gruff villain type dude who swears every single sentence. 2:23 and 6:36 both contain this phrase, but it's translated differently. "What the hell is this?" seems more in line with Moa's casual speech pattern. I could see her saying it like that if she spoke English. Not Yui though 😅. I can't picture Yui saying anything that could ever be remotely interpreted as a curse, so I think it would've been better to translate hers as "What is this?".
Shout out to Magz, that cold is making you transparent, I can see right through you. Get better soon, mate! Awesome choice of interviews I hadn't seen yet, thanks.
I have asked them to do a reaction to "My Graduation Toss" from Su's graduation, I was also going to request Moa's speech to Su too, but I don't think LVT could handle that.

I think the question of being a cult is best compared to professional wrestling in which there is a sort of collective agreement between the performers and the fans.
