Well.... THAT just earned a Sub!! 👍👍 You haven't really gotten into anything yet, but I'm quite intrigued. I feel I can finally LEARN something!
Brief History. I'm not a Novice, been in the Hobby since 1982. I've a firm grasp on most of the mechanics, and fairly good at Wiring....
BUT the Beier USM-RC-2, has been a complete FAFF!! (as my very close Friends from West Midlands say) 😜
The main issue is, the Unit itself! I've had all manner of problems, just getting it to WORK with my complex Lighting, Servo Control and Sound options.
The obvious question is, WHY did I go with this version?
For starters, I didn't want the limited functionality of the Tamiya MFC-01. At a PREMIUM price! One Engine, NO control over the Lighting and Sounds. So I discovered Beier through a Channel here in the Colonies.... He also has a 1/14th Semi centred Hobby Shop, and is the only Beier Dealer in the US.
It seemed exciting! A higher level of enjoyment. I went with these because I've got 5 Hobbywing WP1080 ESCs, with incredible low speed control and full adjustability. So even if the SFR-1 has excellent Motor control, I simply didn't need the built-in ESC.
He sold me 4 of these Units.
What I DIDN'T know, and was not informed, the USM-RC-2 was OBSOLETE a month after I bought them!!! 😠😠😠
    It wasn't entirely just me.
I then heard about its replacement, the USM-RC-3. EVERYTHING the SFR-1 has, minus ESC. In good faith, I bought 3 of them from the SAME guy! (No options here, didn't want to order from Germany in THESE times)
He really hasn't been much help. He skims through subjects so quickly that it's difficult to understand. He provides NO close-up views, and won't explain anything that he mentioned in his earlier Videos!!
I apologise for making that LONG. You don't know me yet.. I wanted to reinforce that you're not dealing with a 13yr old twit! 😉
I will be watching other Videos from you. You impress me as in the know. I really look forward to more on this subject, as the USM-RC-3 does set up like your Unit with ESC.
I understand that you won't be going into S-Bus. I can't find ANYTHING useful on the Subject. I run a FlySky FS-i6X, which is 10 Channel capable, with S-Bus. But I have no idea how it works! 😖
If you got this far, thank you. Hopefully this old Dog can learn some new tricks!

Hello sir, in the US! I think your name is Carmine, but not sure. Many thanks for the two comments and yes, I have read them with interest. Thank you also for your kind words.
I know I may come across a bit 'flat' on the videos, but I hope people see past that. it's the message I'm presenting, not myself! Anyway. I'm pleased the series will help you. Fortunately I have a life-long background in electronics and have built and used computers (and repaired!) since 1986. So Beier didn't phase me. I will admit I know little about S-BUS etc on the Beier. I understand digital stuff but not the application here. And quite honestly I'm not that interested as I can do all I want using a 'standard' configuration.
It's interesting what you say about skimming through stuff. That's the situation here in the UK. This is one of the main reasons for the video series. The other is to promote what is a far superior product to the MFC (in my opinion!).
I'm familiar with the Flysky FS-i6x and have used this a few times. Great piece of kit for the price. As I build for others they usually supply their own kit, which gives me an oportunity to experience a variety of Tx/Rx setups.
I'm working hard on the next video, which although in depth, I hope is explained in detail for anyone to grasp (no offence).
Finally I'm sure the principles of the SFR-1 are much the same as the units you've mentioned (essentially the same minus the esc as you say) so I think you'll derive benefit from what I have to say!
All the best, and thank you for writing to me. Regards Colin

Thank you for this, I'm just starting a new project, and need more functionality, so I knew I wanted to use the SFR1. This is a good starting point!

You're very welcome. The SFR1 is a great piece of kit with a huge amount of functionality.

@@tamiyatruckbuilding7426 Hello Colin, I have taken the plunge and purchased an SFR1 and I am very happy with it.
I have a truck with rear steering axle, which also has a lift function as well. Using Servo output 1 for the rear steer servo with direct steering control at -50% works well. Servo output 2 is for the lift servo and works in direct control. What I'd like to do is for the unit to say when Servo 2 is up, then Servo 1 deactivated. This would mean the rear axle wouldn't steer when lifted. I can do this via the radio (radiolink AT10II), but I then lose the steering in proportion to speed I get when I control steering through the SFR1. Any ideas?

Hi looking to get the sfr1 can you add or does it come with the vibration unit like mfu 03 thanks

Hello Ryan. The SFR1 doesn't have a vibration unit. To be honest, I know many rc users personally and they don't use the vibration unit.

@TamiyaTruckBuilding thanks for replying been looking at different options but thinkin sfr1 is the way to go with how many more extras you can add and change.

Thanks I'm aware of that. I did say 'natively', meaning without the need for additional software :)
